Made a reservation for Mother's Day brunch through Open Table a week in advance. Show up at our reserved time and they tell us they are not accepting Open Table reservations! Seriously! Why use the service then. Also, I'm not sure how they can justify $45 a pop for the low quality food they put out. We won't be back and definitely wouldn't recommend to friends.
Our server was just great. Any special request was granted without any fuss. The food was hot and very well cooked. There were three of us all with different dinner request. The food was delivered at the proper time. We were not waiting nor did we feel rushed.
We had not been here for awhile since the changes in hotel ownership so did not know what expect judging from some negative reviews on the internet. But we always liked the atrium atmosphere so we had Mothers Day brunch with my wife, my daughter (a mother as of 3 months) my son in law and new grandson.
We had a 10 am reservation and were seated right away. The service was good and for the most part the food was also good.
The only two drawbacks were there was no fresh fruit and there could have been a better selection of desserts. Otherwise the selections were great from the carving station to the omelet bar to the seafood bar.
Best of all, there were no lines to get food which can be a problem on holidays.

We had reservations for Brunch on Easter Sunday at noon. We got there at 12:10 and had to wait in line for 20 minutes. We saw many tables opened, but not cleared off. I had my 87 year old aunt with me and she had to stand on a sloped walkway, not place to sit. When we went for the hot food at the buffet, most items were barely warm close to cold. Cold and hard Eggs Benidict was the worst offering! The poor choice of tongs to pick up food items caused people to struggle with holding on to items causing he line to back up. The display of Easter deserts was boring and cakes and cookies tasted like cardboard.
The Vineyards put on a buffet in the atrium of the hotel.Set up banquet style, with folding tables and chairs. We were there for the first seating @ 10 AM and things were pretty chaotic. The food was good for a buffet and their was a nice selection. The wait staff was totally lost as to what was going on. They all seemed to be willing, but didn't know the drill.
Three dinners; Sea Bass, Duck and Steak. These were good; otherwise the rating overall w/b poor. However, the portions were marginal and the rest of the meal was not sufficient quality/quantity to justify $65 per head pre fixe menu price ($85 with wine pairing option). Lobster Bisque the worst I have had in 40 years of dining out. Tasted like weak tomato soup with half and half and a hint of lobster. Green and beet salads ordinary and small. The bread was of ordinary store-bought quality at best. Deserts were decent & plentiful but too sweet/not labeled. Service was marginal, with errors. Diners had to retrieve deserts from a separate location. The wine pairings were pedestrian. Overall poor value for the price paid.
This restaurant is inside the Crown Plaza Hotel. The ambiance is very nice with an open flow in the large interior atrium. The menu and service was classic and classy. Our server, Bayardo, dressed in coat and tie, was efficient and very friendly. He was the shift supervisor. He had great recommendations on the food and wine. The classic menu is heavy on steaks and chops, but does include enough seafood, poultry, and vegetarian entrees to please most. The French onion soup and clam chowder were both excellent. Our two entrees were delicious, the portabello mushroom steak and the Rib Eye steak accompanied by a large Idaho baked potato. There is a full bar and a nice California wine list.
We usually do family brunches at the Hilton Concord but thought we'd try something different for a change. Unfortunately, change is sometimes not for the better. The buffet spread consisted of potatoes, bacon, sausage, eggs benedict, veggies, roast pork, roast chicken, pasta w/sun dried tomatoes and salmon. They also had tri tip and ham, an omelet station, seafood station with crab and shrimp. Two salads, cut fruit and a dessert station. The quality of the food was quite mediocre and the elegance was far from that of the Hilton. Service was fair, it was difficult to get refills and plates removed from our table. Priced at $43 for adults, which is the going rate at most special brunches. Back to the Hilton we go!
Have been here a few times for the service and food. This time was not good...service was horrid so my girlfriend and I left before even getting menus. There was a wedding going on in the open area, so the noise was terriable too, so this was just a bump in the road, so I will go back...
Three Filet Mignon steaks and one New York steak were ordered. All medium rare.
Two Filets and the New York were thick, tender and cooked as ordered.
The third filet was much thinner, more medium than medium rare and tasted old.
Our waitress was very nice and took the steak back, however, the new steak was't
much better and by that time the other three persons had already finished eating.
Priced too high and not worth a return visit.
We went to have dinner there for my husband's birthday. We didn't know that there was no seating inside the restaurant - it's all an "outdoor" patio, and by "outdoor", I mean that the entire restaurant is just sectioned off from the lobby of the Crown Plaza hotel. Not quite what we expected, but to top it off, there was a wedding RECEPTION going on in the lobby with a DJ playing loud music. To some, this may not have been so bad, but for two parents who don't get to go out very often, I would love to be able to actually hold a conversation with my husband.
We had been to the Crowne Plaza Hotel for their buffet brunch a couple years ago and thought the food was excellent and really enjoyed ourselves. This trip was very different. Some better, some not as good.
The atmosphere was quite a bit better. They have updated the hotel and the atrium area where the brunch is held, very nicely. I was disappointed that there is no longer a buffet, but their salad table and cheese table were excellent. As far as my entree, I would have to say that the steak on the steak and eggs meal left a lot to be desired.
Our waitress was slow and although there was only 1 table occupied when we got there, she was very frantic and couldn't remember what we had ordered, like coffee???? Not good.
I made a reservation for Valentine's Day. However, they failed to reserve a table for me by over-booking their tables. As I was waiting (and waiting), one of the diner's came to the front and complained that they had been there for 45 minutes and hadn't even been served bread or water. At that point, we decided to leave. As a side note, the ambiance looked cheap--like the place was supposed to be a bar and someone decided to put tables in the lobby of the hotel. We'll never be back and if you're thinking of trying this place, think again and try somewhere else.
Valentines Day is supposed to be romantic and attentive... It's not condusive when you make reservations on time, and sit at a table without water or bread or attention for over 10 (I want to say 15) minutes. You see 1 waitress trying to cover all of the tables, and politely ask for attention. Then a gal comes from the banquet room to take your order, yet you still have no water. You eventually get water and bread, but continue for another 10-15 minutes waiting for wine. Finally dinner arrives, but the meat is dry and just warm. You finish dinner, and are still waiting for at least 10 minutes with your credit card on the table (and you don't have a bill),finally ask someone to take it. This whole time the host is walking around but not help
An elegant location. They were moderately busy but had only one waiter...needed more help, but he did the best he could. He seated us in a requested warm area and gave us a couple of "special attentions" that were nice. The $10 corkage fee was very reasonable. (I think his name was Eric.) The taste of the food was very good and served hot, but also very pricey! For example---at your prices a small scoop of mashed potatoes should be included with the entree, not as a $6 side dish. You have an attractive venue---one of the nicest in Concord. Note that we (and others) dine out weekly. Our final word: we shall return another day to enjoy another fine meal.
This was the first time the Vineyard Chop House did a prix fixe menu on Christmas. While the food was wonderful and our waiter was great, we were there for 3 hours. Mostly waiting for our food to arrive. The restaurant was also very cold once the sun went down. We had some older people in our group and they were not happy how chilly it was. All in all our meal was great. I am sure they will work out the kinks to this service on holidays.
