Second day in a row to eat breakfast at the Vines. Convenient for us as guests at the Hyatt and attending a conference at the Sacramento Convention Center across the street. The wait staff both days have been friendly and pleasant. The young man who took our beverage orders repeated what we wanted (coffee, orange juice, two waters) but brought only the coffee and juice. He verified that we still wanted water, but never brought it. Part of our food order was brought to us about ten minutes later. I stopped a waitress about five - seven minutes afterward as she walked by and asked about our missing food. More minutes passed until we had the rest of our food. A waitress noticed that we did not have water, asked if we wanted some, and quickly provided it. We were very satisfied with our food: pancakes, chicken sausage, fresh fruit plate with nine different kinds of fruit plus yogurt and some nuts.
The Hyatt was busy this particular weekend, housing attendees for the conference being held at the Sacramento Comvention Center located across the street. I was grateful for my Open Table reservation as we were seated immediately at our reservation time while I overheard the hostess inform others that they would wait at least fifteen minutes for a table. Our party of two ordered pancakes, French toast, and chicken sausage. All were satisfactory. We waited about twenty-five minutes for our food to arrive, and my only concern was the waitstaff never stopped back to acknowledge that our food was delayed but would be coming.
Went to this restaurant on May 27, pre-theatre. Had a reservation at 12:15. There was a card on the reserved table with my name on it. From the service perspective, this restaurant needs help. The server was an order taker only. Offered no information regarding the menu. The skirt steak was ordered by my dining guest. The temp. was requested as MR, and was served Well. It was returned and replaced/comped by the restaurant. That was generous, which some restaurants would not do. When finished, our plates were not cleared, even though a check was dropped on the table. No desserts were offered, even though our neighboring table received the sales pitch. After the meal was comped, it appeared that the server wanted us out of there. When I placed my credit card in the check holder, we moved the dirty dishes to the edge of the table. She finally received the message that we wanted them off the table. Hyatt needs to raise the bar at this location. Attentiveness and care, were not a high priority.
As always, the food was very good. I had the cobb salad. So nice to have a normal size salad, and chopped up small so you don't have to fiddle with trying to cut up lettuce while trying to have a business meeting. In and out - as always - in an hour, maybe a little less.
Service was excellent - quick, but not rushed. Drink refills arrived without being asked. Food was delicious. I had the pasta special: Linguini with vegetables in a pesto cream sauce. Fantastic! This is my go-to place when downtown on business, which is frequent.
We always go to the vines before we go to the Broadway series at the community center! great food. although they have not had the tomato soup lately and they have the best!! we always eat the buffet. can be a little noisy when it is packed. Service is outstanding!! we also like the valet parking.
We were attending the Shen Yun matinee performance at the Sacramento Community Center,
which is right next door. We wanted to have a nice lunch nearby, so after perusing the menus, we chose lunch at Vines, Hyatt Regency for its perfect location and good lunch menu. We were
celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. The entire experience was great - even the weather cooperated! Staff was quite accommodating, the ambiance and the food were wonderful.
We have been to several holiday buffets at the Vines, most recently this past Thanksgiving. The buffet selections, the food, the service and the ambience have always been great. That's what has continued to bring us back. This Christmas buffet was a big disappointment. There was no traditional turkey or ham, no traditional mashed potatoes and gravy and no dressing or cranberry sauce. The pork roast was fat, the prime rib was only very rare, and the lamb was so-so. The crab, which has always been great, was not sufficiently cracked and much of it was still frozen. The service was ok but not as outstanding as in the past.
It was very disappointing to have this Christmas buffet fall so short of what we'd come to expect. It's unlikely we'll return for another holiday.
This was a Thanksgiving Day brunch so questions related to intimate dining don't apply. Despite the fact that, known beforehand that It would be a very large crowd the only surprise was that it was handled so well. The ambiance was complemented by live music in the form of a string jazz ensemble, the service was exceptionally personal and the food was outstanding.
This was Thanksgiving Brunch so can't really equate it to Vine's normal menu. The brunch was amazing. Extensive selection from seafood to waffles and, of course, Turkey with all the trimmings. We also sat at the bar in Dawsons, by choice, and had a wonderful experience. I am sure Vine's menu is probably very good, as everything I've experienced at the Hyatt in Sacramento has been superior.
4 OUT OF 6 ORDERS WERE EITHER WRONG, MISSING SOMETHING AND OR TOTALLY FORGOTTEN.
They were nice about the issues but still, I have to say probably the worst experience in twenty years going to lunch in downtown Sacramento. We go to the Broadway Series and were looking for a good place to be able to park and have lunch. Apparently we are still going to be looking.
Had not been to Vines since it was freshened but picked it for its convenience and choice of lunch buffet OR menu ordering to give my party plenty of options. Most of us ordered off the menu that offers lots of options including a variety of salad choices that were almost too big (the portion) Plus they offer plenty of fresh rolls for those needing to carbo load. I don't think anyone in the party left hungry or disappointed.
My friend ordered the lunch salad bar and absolutely loved the freshness, variety of items, and delicious soups and desserts! I ordered the Cobb salad. I asked them to mix it for me and they were very accommodating! It was delicious and very fresh. The lemon vinaigrette was wonderful. The service was excellent!
The spread was spectacular! The prime rib at the carving station was my favorite, next to the oysters and crab legs. The kids loved the waffle station as well as the omlet making and of course the dessert selection. Was incredible for them as well. The duck fat popcorn was a big hit too.
I chose this restaurant as I was attending a musical next door at the Community Center Theater and was traveling with a disabled companion who was unable to make long journeys. Not only was the reservation service perfect for us, the valet and location were incredibly convenient as well. The food was delicious, a bit pricey, but I understood as being part of the hotel and per the ambiance offered. Our service was fantastic and I appreciated the offer of table service vs. the buffet option. The only suggestion I would make would be to the hostesses--when guests are traveling with older or disabled companions, it would be preferable not to be taken through the two-sided buffet to the table as it involves being bumped/jostled on both sides by guests who aren't paying attention. Thank you.
