                                          We have been going to Vineland over the past 15 years for special occasions and more particularly for our wedding anniversary. However, this time the experience was lesser than expected. We chose table d’hôte but I think there could be more choices on the menu and maybe less fried options.

                                          Always a stellar experience. The food is consistently excellent… great ambiance… excellent wine. A preferred place to celebrate significant events. A preferred restaurant period.

                                          We went to this incredible restaurant for our Anniversary! We couldn’t have been more pleased with the outstanding 5 course meal (so delicious) and phenomenal service from our waiter Matthew! It was a perfect evening!

                                          We had corner table on the enclosed veranda for lunch; beautiful view of the vineyard. Generally lovely restaurant in beautiful setting of the vineyard. Great ambiance. Comfortable without pretensions. Good size portions of food. I had pork collar, my wife had pickerel. Both good, but vegetables not to our taste and the sauces tend to be a bit overwhelming. Great lunch with our friends from the US. More than happy to return!

                                          After beginning with rosé & meunier sparkling to celebrate our anniversary (both were exceptional), had the Chef’s Dinner (pre-arranged 5-course meal at $110). Food portions were quite generous for a 5-course meal, but final course of beef was quite chewy…heard guest at another table remark the same to their server. The accompanying short rib served WITH the steak was delicious. While courses were very creative, some other ingredients missed the mark as well (i.e. Ahi tuna in second course was quite fishy). Gazpacho was perfection; dessert course was a charm as well. Enjoyed the wine pairings, but why not a cabernet vs a cab franc with the bold steak/short rib combo? Open table asks you to indicate special occasion, so we indicated anniversary. No acknowledgement of it was made by the restaurant. Server was a bit slow to check in on courses & refills (companion went a long time between drinks) but the assistant server/expediter was EXTREMELY attentive and knowledgeable! Ambiance was exceptional on patio until the mosquitos arrived :( (recognizing that is one of the pitfalls of dining alfresco, just wondered if strategically placed fans could help). Once the sun went down our table - in absence of a candle or any light - was VERY dark. Difficult to see food. Mentioned to server who replied the lighting “is usually better” and left it at that without effort toward solution. All in all a good experience. 4/5. Would definitely go back, but be a bit more judicious in items ordered.
