There has to be 6-8 Italian restaurants within Downers Grove, Westmont, and Western Springs. I feel this is the best of the lot. Solid red sauce type Italian food, but some Tuscan twists. Though they have live entertainment in the bar most weekends, we came on a ‘quiet’ Saturday and never felt rushed. Will be back.
A favorite of ours! As usual good food, nice variety of items on menu! Service a little slow as waiter appeared to have a big group in second room. Like to go early as noise level escalates a little too much when dining room is full.
Always an awesome experience, chef Bob and his staff never disappoint!
We were very pleased with everything except for being cramped into a very small booth for out party of 4.
Paco was wonderful! Genuine!! He made our evening Perfect!! Thank you so much !!
While we don't dine here every week (far drive), we have always had a wonderful meal. This time the food was "ok" for the price. One person in our party had the salmon special which was served on top of pasta. The portion of pasta was very small. There were four of us and we were seated at a table that was just right of the entryway. There was no lighting above the table...it was like it was just placed there because of being busy. We were in the way of everyone entering the dining room. Next time I would definitely ask to be moved. Hopefully this was just a one time not-so-great experience.
The service was great, the food was delightful. The atmosphere was comfortable. Overall, great dining experience.
Wonderful dinner. One of our favorite restaurants!
Our server Marco was fantastic! The service was great, we
Loved every recommendation he gave and the food was delicious. We will definitely be returning and requesting him as our server!
Our table was located near the rear of the restaurant in a quiet and cozy location. We had bruschetta and clams, both very good.
Dinner: cheese lasagna, shrimp with pasta and seafood medly. All dishes were shared amongst us, all very good. The house cab was also very good. Overall a great bang for your buck in a nice location in downtown Westmont. We will be back!
With it being restaurant week, it was really busy making the service a bit spotty. Server made up for it though.
We're regulars who come about once a month. We'll keep coming. :)
Paco was very accommodating to where we wanted to sit. He was very courteous and explained the menu to us. The food is delicious. My favorite is the 3 cheese lasagna. Been here several times and on several occasions with the Darien VFW in the party room. Will highly recommend this place. Looking forward to having a lovely family dinner here with our immediate family next month.
We enjoyed our dinner on Saturday. Everything was wonderful and the music was an added plus...we will definitely be back again! Thanks.
My wife and I have been "dating" at Vincintori's for ~20 years and still make it a favorite date night spot at least 3 or 4 times per year. Service is very good and its a nice hometown but slightly upscale feel. The special menu is fairly routine and my favorite is the salmon linguine (runs about $29.00) whereas my wife usually liked the beef medallions with blue cheese - but we occasionally try other items and have never been disappointed. The guy who does the Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, etc. songs is actually very good and we enjoy listening to him and the volume is enough that it doesn't invade the conversation. It is never too noisy it the tables for me to hear my wife (and I have poor hearing). I highly recommend that you put this restaurant on your "favorite haunts" list.
Vincitori's is a regular stop for us and all of our friends love it too. They serve the best Italian food I have eaten anywhere. A friend said their food was as good as his Italian grandmother's who spent all day cooking.
This is a wonderful restaurant. The food and service are excellent. It can be a little noisy at times.
This was our first time at Vincitori's. The food was delicious and our waiter was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions.
I have already recommended Vincitori's to a friend. We will definitely be going there again.
Great menu with many House made pasta choices. The Failla Brothers singers are an added touch to a great evening. Would recommend this restaurant to family and friends.
My girlfriend and I went there on Valentine's Day and although the noise level was a little loud obviously because of the amount of people there it was a little hard to hear each other speak or to be able to communicate but the food was amazing the service from our waiter Antonio was absolutely outstanding the ambience in the room was great my girlfriend loved the décor And over all it was a great place to go, Worth the drive!
Food was very good .. service so bad.. no light music even .. food came after one hour of the order
Had our valentines dinner here. Great service, wonderful food.
Good food as always. Will go back again.
We enjoyed our dinner. The server was great and the food was delicious. There was a party of 6 people who don’t It know what restaurant voice level is. They were so loud that we could barely hear each other sitting side by side. We normally stay for coffee and dessert but left as soon as we finished dinner and went somewhere where we could actually have a conversation.
Despite of this we will return and enjoy the delicious meal and warm cozy ambience
Great first date spot!
Overall very nice. The restaurant staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was solid.
Dined here many times. Received gift for my husband's birthday from the restaurant. Very nice! Food was delicious!
We love Vincitori. My wife and I decided to dine there with 6, out-of-the-area cousins. They liked it as well. As a waiter of 50 years ago, I know how hard it is to serve 8 or more people. Our server was excellent.
Great first time experience, would go again.
I picked this place for my family and I to meet for dinner. Nothing too fancy, but also not a burger joint... this was the perfect causal-formal I was looking for, plus side, it was Italian good! Our favorite. Our server, a gentleman, was very patient with us while we waited (for quite a while) for my brother to finally get off work at the hospital. We waiting to order. The food came out in a timely manner and was nice and hot! Almost too hot, but we weren’t complaining. The food was excellent. Two ordered the french onion soup and enjoyed every bit. We ordered the Gorgonzola Tortellini with Mushrooms, Four Cheese Lasagna, Carmalized Eggplant with Goat Cheese Pasta dish (add the Italian sausage, I promise it’s so delicious) and also the Rigatoni dish (forgot this dish’s name, full of meats). Two glasses of wine and a beer. Total was roughly $125. Not too shabby for 4 people.
My brother and his wife just moved to the area in the summer. We will definitely be back. We were very pleased!
Poor service, loud food ok.
Took another family for the first time for them. (We have been there before). Always great food! Everyone enjoyed their dishes and desserts! Will always return when we have the need for great Italian food!
We had a wonderful meal and great service from Paco. We started with salads. My husband had Chicken Piccata and loved it. I had Rigatoni with lamb Bolognese and loved it. I had never had this before and loved the sauce. We shared a good bottle of chianti with our meal. Paco brought us a complimentary tiramisu for my birthday and even sang to me. This is a neighborhood gem.
Great food and great service, as always. Paco was great and the food was delicious! Great gluten free options for our daughter.
We had a wonderful dinner for 3. The Italian food was original and authentic. Portions were huge. Atmosphere was cozy. They do have live music but not the night we were there. Service was excellent.
Great food! Great atmosphere! Vincitori is a fun choice for meeting friends.
When we were seated, we were told about an event that night but we would not have to leave our table. However, our food was brought to our table at 8:38 and we were asked to leave at 9:15 because our table was reserved for someone else for this event. I complained to the waiter and he said the manager told him to tell us we had to leave. Then I complained to someone else and he said I realize what time your dinner was served and just walked away. Extremely horrible customer service.
It has been many years since we have been to Vincitori and I wish we had not waited so long. We went for an early New Year's Eve dinner. We sat in a bar booth and had Chiristine (?) as our server, she was great! Lemon drop martinis were perfectly executed as was our dinner. I started with the baked French onion soup, that was the only disappointing part of the meal as it was lacking flavor (seasoning), I like mine with a touch of sherry and if it was in there it was a very modest amount. I had the beef medallion trio which was awesome, my husband had the veal Marsala with a side of olio aglio pasta, really good! We had no room for dessert but ordered and finished the Italian cake of some sort. We will definitely be returning!!
Always an excellent experience. Vincitori is our family favorite.
We made our reservation for 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve. When we entered the restaurant and were seated at our table, I noticed that only four tables were filled (restaurant holds about 20+ tables). The waiter quickly came over to take our drink order, and we asked for some time to look over the menu for our appetizer. The waiter came back less than four minutes later and we were not ready yet, came back another two minutes later and we ordered our appetizer and entree. Our appetizer came out minutes later, I hadn't even had time to take a drink of my wine. The entire meal was extremely rushed, rushed so in fact that we were done and in our car by 5:50 p.m. Made a mention to the hostess and she replied to come back when they weren't so busy. Still only 10 tables were taken. Not going back.
