Vincitori Fine Italian Cuisine

Vincitori is a quaint little Italian restaurant in downtown Westmont. We went on a weeknight at 6:30 and it was pretty empty at that time. The service was extremely slow that night. Our waiter apologized and explained that he was the only one serving the customers that evening. The other waiter had called off. He was apologetic, and since we weren’t in a hurry it wasn’t an issue. We started out with the bruschetta which was good and very fresh tasting. The entree items we ordered were the homemade cavatelli pasta with vodka sauce, pasta with meat sauce and meatballs, lasagna, and the filet mignon. All four meals were delicious. The restaurant had a relaxed atmosphere, which we all enjoyed. We will definitely be back.
Consistent quality Italian dinner. Our group of four had four different dinners. Each one was distinct and very enjoyable. Warm, attentive, professional service. Stable staff is knowlegable and helpful. This experience has been repeated over ten years of patronage.
We always have good food and service at this restaurant. Have been there many times and will go back.
We continue to love Vincitori; from the very early days in Westmont strip mall to its current location. Food and service are outstanding. We asked for a quiet table and received it. The waiter was more than welcoming and appropriately attentive.
Great neighborhood restaurant. Good food , good service.
Everything is always excellent at Vincitori from all the dinner selections to the drinks to the service and the ambiance. It is one of our favorite Italian restaurants!
We won't be back. We had horrible service. Restaurant was not crowded but there was a party in the back room. We were pretty much ignored.
Another table was seated next to us and they got tired of waiting for someone to wait on them and walked out. Food was nothing special. They charged $3.75 for a soda and never came back to offer a refill.
First time here in a few years due to bad experience, but we thought we would give it another try. Food was great but service was horrible (example we had to ask for water even though other tables had carafes on their table...when the water came we had to flag someone down to ask for glasses to drink it in). Hostess is non existent and horrible attitude when we finally did see her (this has been an on going problem for years). Bartender was fantastic and Bobby G was as good as we remembered. We may go back in to the bar and order something to eat in there, but the hostess and restaurant probably never again.
It is a charming Italian restaurant . Friendly restaurant staff.
Vincitori is a great place. The food is wonderful (and plentiful). The servers are pleasant and attentive. Great value!
Celebrating my mother’s 92nd birthday. Our server, Antonio, was awesome. Chef Bob came to our table and greeted us. He gave my mom their tiramisu which was beautiful and delicious! Thank you for a wonderful evening. My mom had a wonderful birthday! ❤️🎉🎂🎁🎈
Asked for them to make carbonara which was not on the menu and they did! It was delicious!!
Server was wonderful and pizza was so fresh and delicious!
Restaurant smelled of fish when we walked in. Wanted to order fish but decided to order something else-veal limone- which was very good. Only negative was bad smell of fish. Hopefully this was a rare occurrence
We always go to Vincitori for our Italian food fix. Food and service are always excellent.
A hidden gem in the suburbs for fine dinning. We have been there a few times this year and the food is always great and the service is wonderful. Definitely will go again.
Food was outstanding! Ambiance was a little dated and service was a little slow (they seemed busy) but I was very impressed with the chef - butternut squash ravioli was delicious!
Great Italian cuisine. Some of the best Italian food we have had in the Western suburbs. My husband is Italian & we have had some of the best homemade Italian food over the years. Our server Christine was perfect server.
Good food and good ambience for a Friday Evening. Nice place for seniors looking for a good time.
Visited Vincitori, Friday 6/7/19, for an early date night. Every time we have the grilled calamari, we are not disappointed, it's really fantastic. Same with the fresh bread, evoo, and cheese. We ordered a "special" for dinner. It was a lobster alfredo dish, which wasn't very good (in our opinion). It was replaced with the "special" shrimp risotto, which was much better. While, we found the food mediocre this visit, I can't say enough about the service. We had a young gentleman, whose name I believe is Sam. He was awesome. Super attentive to our needs and requests, personable, just a good server and (seemingly) a very nice person. He really "made" the meal. I think on this visit, the service superseded the food. I'd probably stick with their regular menu, rather than specials. And ask for Sam, for great service!
Had great food as always and excellent service by part time once a moth server. Highly recommend
Thirty years ago a friend mentioned he found this restaurant with food as good as his Italian grandmother's. We have been going there every since. The food and service are outstanding. There are several servers who have been there many years. They offer discounts to veterans and the chef actively supports my American Legion.
What's not to like. :-)
Have not been in a long time because we moved to Geneva. Came back for a post mother's day celebration. Everything was great as always.
Great food & service! We’ve been here many times over the years.
Always great food and service.
Food as always was fabulous. Keeps us coming back again & again. Unfortunately, service was terrible which was surprising considering we arrived early, about 5:30 for a 5:45 reservation. Place was only about half full. Hostess seemed angry or bored and waiter was attentive at first, then he took on additional two larger tables of 8 and we became an afterthought for him. At one point I caught his eye and he seemed startled, hustled into the kitchen and our food arrived.....was like he forgot he was serving us..... very disappointing
We always enjoy our time at Vicitori's! The food is glorious and the service is perfect. Thanks so much for making all of our special events and everyday dinners stellar!
The food was fabulous and so was the entertainment in the bar area with Randy McCallister! Everyone in the bar area was fun as well! Was a great time! Sam was a great server !
Phil was a hoot. A good time was had by all!!
Super nice folks that work and frequent there!
I made my reservations for a late night and we were the only one there. Quiet and really great food. It's our second time there.
Had a great dinner! Three of us all had Chicken PIccata & it was very tasty. The others also enjoyed their entrees. Service was also good.
The food and service are fantastic! I’m never disappointed when I dine here
We enjoy dining at Vincitori. The wait staff is friendly and very efficient. One of our favorite places to dine.
Food was pretty good but not worth the hefty price tag. The waitstaff was horrible and the "live music" was a joke.
My wife asked about gluten free options 2 times then her her food came with regular pasta. Said it would be really quick exchange 20 minutes later it came said it would be comped but then couldn’t because we had a local flavor discount. Food was ok at best!!!
We enjoy the traditional Southern Italian dishes served by friendly waiters.
Water was a bit forgetful, ordered rum and coke with a lime, no lime in the drink, he did go back after we reminded him. We ordered Lasagna , which they only offer with cheese, so we asked if we could get a side of meat sauce, the water forgot that as well. We each ordered an entree and asked if they would split them (2) for us, told us they couldn't do that. It was a week night and they were not busy. I would hope they would work harder to accommodate their customers.
The food is always good. If it's busy, the service slows and the noise level rises, but still about the best place to eat in Westmont.
Excellent food as always! Great gluten free options.
Paco was our waiter and was wonderful, as always!
This is our second time dining at Vincitori. We had a lovely evening and the food was delicious. I had the petite fillet mignon and it was so tender and cooked perfectly. My husband had salmon over angel hair pasta with a vodka sauce and he said it was delicious as well.
