I had Barramundi, which was fresh and perfectly prepared. It was on a bed of risotto that had excellent flavors but was a little mushy for my taste. Starter was a carrot soup that was very good, wonderful flavors . In general a very good meal, excellent service. Not my first visit to Vincent's and I will definitely dine there again.
Great place. Feels like home and with a great dinner. Win-win.
The best food in town, served in a warm, relaxed atmosphere by skillful servers. A consistently outstanding dining experience.
This made for a wonderful special date night dinner. The service was slow as other reviews had mentioned, but overall we really enjoyed this place. On Saturday it was very quiet which was surprising. We had reservations but it was not necessary for that evening.
It was a lovely meal with a best friend at the end of a challenging week!
Outstanding food and ambiance. I recommend Vincent's for the great menu and friendly atmosphere.
I have been going to Vincent's for years and labeled it as one of my favorite restaurants to date. Unfortunately I had a terrible experience most recently. Upon being seated we sat for nearly 20 minutes before being addressed by our server (looked at my watch). After placing our order we waited another 15 for our app and an additional 15 for our dinner. Keep in mind our reservation was at 5:15 and the restaurant was only about 30% full. I would totally understand if it was late in the evening and packed. In total we were in the restaurant for over 2 hours (mainly waiting).
The food was good but not anywhere as good as I remember.
I had planned for a nice evening with my daughter and ended up very disappointed. Especially for the cost.
Will not return.
This is our go to restaurant in Escondido, and has been for years.
The restaurant's ambience is nice but unassuming. The real highlights of Vincent's are the service and the food. The food is authentically French; however, the portions are decidedly not! I had the beef Wellington and it was large enough for dinner that evening and lunch the following day. It was my first time dining at Vincent's and although I do enjoy a good/trendy scene, it was refreshing to be in a quiet setting enjoying food that makes your day and speaks for itself.
Excellent food! We met friend there and everything was delicious. Cozy atmosphere.
The atmosphere, food and service were wonderful! Met the owner and she was just lovely. Great steak and great sides.
I love this place. It is unassuming, just like you would find on a small side street in Nice, France. We recommend this place all the time. The food is always delicious and is one of our favorite places in San Diego. The chef is so creative and has a new menu for the Trois et Trois every week. Can't say enough good things-please go and see for yourself. Also, the staff is very attentive. Thank you, Vincent's on Grand!
I loved this restaurant. But not so much anymore. Since Vincent isn't at the helm , it just is not the same. The food and service have gone down hill. We will continue to visit but not nearly as often as before. And if no improvement it will be off our list.
Went there for our Anniversary. It was Amazing and the service was Top Notch. Will definitely be back.
Food was delicious and the atmosphere perfect for a decadent birthday meal for my wife.
Like our last visits to Vincent's everything was excellent. The only other comment I have is that the Foie Gras was a bit stringy and a bit overpriced at $25 for the appetizer.
another amazing evening here at Vincent’s .
delightful and delicious !
thank you
Scrumptious French food! Cozy and romantic! Loved it,
This was our first experience at Vincent’s and I’m sorry to say it was a disappointment. We were there to have dinner before a concert which I had indicated in my reservation so time was of the essence. When we arrived our table was not available so after a short wait I asked to be seated at the bar. At the time I mentioned to the person who seated us that were attending a concert that evening. We ordered right away and then waited 40 minutes for our meal. Consequently we had to eat very quickly. My duck was delicious but I was not really able to fully enjoy it.
One fish plate-baramundi- was fishy tasting/old.
My wine was not that good and they don't tell you how much the wine is.
On a quiet Tuesday evening, Vincent's chef and staff were creating wonderful dishes in a lovely atmosphere.....right in downtown Escondido!
I am always delighted in my Vincent's experiences.
My only wish would be for Vincent's to have some more French wines in the cellar.
Beautiful ambiance to enjoy great food well served‼️
Food is always excellent and always served as expected. Great wine menu.
Never been disappointed! The best French restaurant in all of San Diego! Been many times in the last year since finding it. So close to home is one of the perks. I do think they have been named Best French in San Diego. The sauces and purees are the best! and never the same thing as every other French restaurant in town.
Went to Vincent's with 2 other couples for their midweek Trois et Trois dinner. The choices for appetizers, entree's and desserts were varied enough that there was something for everyone. One in our party ordered off the regular menu which was also available. Several of us wanted the Baked Alaska, but for some reason it was unavailable. While disappointing, we did find dessert alternatives that were delicious. Our food was very good, but for my husband and I could have had a bit less salt. Our waitress was a lovely young woman who was quietly attentive to our needs. The ambiance was warm, cozy and comfortable. The night we were there, the restaurant was not full, but all guests were seated in a cluster rather which would have been find had all tables been filled. Under the circumstances, it would have been nice to have some additional space between our party and other patrons.
Food was excellent service was a bit slow between courses. Highly recommend this place for a quiet evening dinner
Everything I've had at Vincent's has been truly outstanding with layer upon layer of sumptuous flavors across the board. I highly recommend it.
Will be going back to enjoy a meal at a European pace. We had a deadline as this was dinner before a concert. 5:30 reservation out at 7 as planned. Food was very good, actually surprisingly so. Duck confeit fell off the bone, wife had the rack of lamb cooked to perfection at medium rare allowing the natural sweetness of the meat to show through, testament to the quality. Not fast paced service explaining my opening comment. Enjoy, savor and relax here, European style dining.
We arrived at 6:30 on a Tuesday and received our appetizers at 8:00. After the appetizers arrived we were told that what we ordered for our main course was not available (an hour and a half after the order was placed). We were told they did not have 4 different vodka's that we ordered for our martinis. Most restaurants give complimentary desserts for birthdays (we had two birthdays) but instead they gave complimentary candles but charged for the dessert. Given that the bill was quite high and the delay in serving the food I would not return. The French onion soup was delicious as was the crab cakes.
Our waitress told us one of the desserts would not be available. We showed some displeasure, and by the end of the night the dessert WAS available. We were so pleased at the extra effort to make that available since we had really been looking forward to it. Thanks so much!
Always a wonderful experience! The lamb chops were incredible as were the short ribs. Vincent's is a gem in downtown Escondido.
Great restaurant. Quiet and comfortable with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food is fantastic!
First time and was so pleased. Moving from Chicago and loved table cloths, value.
Finally found the cozy French restaurant we were searching for. Delightful music, lighting, wine list and food. We'll be regulars.
It took 2 hours from order to dinner presentation.
I'm sorry, but that's a sign of a kitchen in chaos!
Waiting 2 hours for the entree. No thank you!
This is my favorite date spot! The food is amazing and portion sizes are big
We had a 5:15pm reservation so we could dine prior to a 7:30pm concert at the Escondido Center for the Arts. Our waiter assured us that we would not have an issue and promised to put our order in quickly when we ordered at 5:30pm. We got our wine quickly however salad and soup did not arrive until close to 6pm. At 7 pm our entrees had yet to come out and we notified waiter we had to leave. I saw at least 4 tables around us of guests who arrived after us who had already eaten entree and were on dessert. I also saw at least 6 tables of guests like us who were still waiting for their food after waiting lengthy periods. We were not offered anything for compensation. We were very disappointed. I have never in my lifetime of eating out experienced such incompetence. We were starving and very unhappy. They should not accept reservations if they can not handle the crowd. They should also know how to expedite orders by table time. Or they need better waiters who can put an order in as promised.
We were seated right at our reservation time and enjoyed everything we ordered. Nice presentation and the service was very good. Bartender, who happened also to be our server, made a great martini. Nice wine selection.
inadequate cooking of vegetables, petit filet was leathery
We were just there a week prior and had a great meal. In fact we've always had a great meal here however...
Everybody's food was very good except for the 2 bacon wrapped petite filets.
They were rolled with a wooden stick in the middle. The meat was tough. If I would of known better I would say they were flank steak, rolled.. terrible.
And the unfortunate thing was that we had our friends with us and for some time now we had been telling them of Vincents
We will try again, but this time I'll get the tornados or ask how our the filets prepared.
