another amazing evening here at Vincent’s .
delightful and delicious !
Scrumptious French food! Cozy and romantic! Loved it,
This was our first experience at Vincent’s and I’m sorry to say it was a disappointment. We were there to have dinner before a concert which I had indicated in my reservation so time was of the essence. When we arrived our table was not available so after a short wait I asked to be seated at the bar. At the time I mentioned to the person who seated us that were attending a concert that evening. We ordered right away and then waited 40 minutes for our meal. Consequently we had to eat very quickly. My duck was delicious but I was not really able to fully enjoy it.
One fish plate-baramundi- was fishy tasting/old.
My wine was not that good and they don't tell you how much the wine is.
On a quiet Tuesday evening, Vincent's chef and staff were creating wonderful dishes in a lovely atmosphere.....right in downtown Escondido!
I am always delighted in my Vincent's experiences.
My only wish would be for Vincent's to have some more French wines in the cellar.
Beautiful ambiance to enjoy great food well served‼️
Food is always excellent and always served as expected. Great wine menu.
Never been disappointed! The best French restaurant in all of San Diego! Been many times in the last year since finding it. So close to home is one of the perks. I do think they have been named Best French in San Diego. The sauces and purees are the best! and never the same thing as every other French restaurant in town.
Went to Vincent's with 2 other couples for their midweek Trois et Trois dinner. The choices for appetizers, entree's and desserts were varied enough that there was something for everyone. One in our party ordered off the regular menu which was also available. Several of us wanted the Baked Alaska, but for some reason it was unavailable. While disappointing, we did find dessert alternatives that were delicious. Our food was very good, but for my husband and I could have had a bit less salt. Our waitress was a lovely young woman who was quietly attentive to our needs. The ambiance was warm, cozy and comfortable. The night we were there, the restaurant was not full, but all guests were seated in a cluster rather which would have been find had all tables been filled. Under the circumstances, it would have been nice to have some additional space between our party and other patrons.
Food was excellent service was a bit slow between courses. Highly recommend this place for a quiet evening dinner
Will be going back to enjoy a meal at a European pace. We had a deadline as this was dinner before a concert. 5:30 reservation out at 7 as planned. Food was very good, actually surprisingly so. Duck confeit fell off the bone, wife had the rack of lamb cooked to perfection at medium rare allowing the natural sweetness of the meat to show through, testament to the quality. Not fast paced service explaining my opening comment. Enjoy, savor and relax here, European style dining.
Everything I've had at Vincent's has been truly outstanding with layer upon layer of sumptuous flavors across the board. I highly recommend it.
We arrived at 6:30 on a Tuesday and received our appetizers at 8:00. After the appetizers arrived we were told that what we ordered for our main course was not available (an hour and a half after the order was placed). We were told they did not have 4 different vodka's that we ordered for our martinis. Most restaurants give complimentary desserts for birthdays (we had two birthdays) but instead they gave complimentary candles but charged for the dessert. Given that the bill was quite high and the delay in serving the food I would not return. The French onion soup was delicious as was the crab cakes.
Our waitress told us one of the desserts would not be available. We showed some displeasure, and by the end of the night the dessert WAS available. We were so pleased at the extra effort to make that available since we had really been looking forward to it. Thanks so much!
Always a wonderful experience! The lamb chops were incredible as were the short ribs. Vincent's is a gem in downtown Escondido.
Great restaurant. Quiet and comfortable with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Food is fantastic!
First time and was so pleased. Moving from Chicago and loved table cloths, value.
Finally found the cozy French restaurant we were searching for. Delightful music, lighting, wine list and food. We'll be regulars.
It took 2 hours from order to dinner presentation.
I'm sorry, but that's a sign of a kitchen in chaos!
Waiting 2 hours for the entree. No thank you!
This is my favorite date spot! The food is amazing and portion sizes are big
We had a 5:15pm reservation so we could dine prior to a 7:30pm concert at the Escondido Center for the Arts. Our waiter assured us that we would not have an issue and promised to put our order in quickly when we ordered at 5:30pm. We got our wine quickly however salad and soup did not arrive until close to 6pm. At 7 pm our entrees had yet to come out and we notified waiter we had to leave. I saw at least 4 tables around us of guests who arrived after us who had already eaten entree and were on dessert. I also saw at least 6 tables of guests like us who were still waiting for their food after waiting lengthy periods. We were not offered anything for compensation. We were very disappointed. I have never in my lifetime of eating out experienced such incompetence. We were starving and very unhappy. They should not accept reservations if they can not handle the crowd. They should also know how to expedite orders by table time. Or they need better waiters who can put an order in as promised.
We were seated right at our reservation time and enjoyed everything we ordered. Nice presentation and the service was very good. Bartender, who happened also to be our server, made a great martini. Nice wine selection.
inadequate cooking of vegetables, petit filet was leathery
We were just there a week prior and had a great meal. In fact we've always had a great meal here however...
Everybody's food was very good except for the 2 bacon wrapped petite filets.
They were rolled with a wooden stick in the middle. The meat was tough. If I would of known better I would say they were flank steak, rolled.. terrible.
And the unfortunate thing was that we had our friends with us and for some time now we had been telling them of Vincents
We will try again, but this time I'll get the tornados or ask how our the filets prepared.
It was nice too bad 2 things we were looking to have they didn’t have we wanted Scargot and they didn’t have , we wanted rack of lamb they didn’t have them dessert was ok they didn’t put ice cream on it
We had a nightmare dining experience at Vincent's on Friday, Feb. 2. The restaurant was obviously caught off guard by the crowd. It took an hour just to get our appetizers served, another 40 minutes for the main courses to arrive, and judging by the flaming hot ceramic bowls our meals were in, they had been sitting on a stove for some time. Noisy, crowded and severely understaffed in the kitchen and dining room. My wife, a former concierge at Marriott, cited to me chapter and verse the restaurant's failings that evening...so it's back to Bellamy's and Vintana for us.
Excellent food and ambiance. We have been here several times over the years and it always has been superb.
We visit San Diego area every winter and always put a night out at Vincent's on our must do list. Everything about the experience is fantastic. Great wine menu the food is beyond compare, wonderful wait staff. The testimony is in the fact that we have been going there for the past 8 years and most of the staff have remained the same and the food is incredible. The atmosphere is quiet and lovely. You will not be disappointed!!!
Ordered water when we sat down but it did not come, had to order again after appetizers arrived. There were no menus showing the pre fixed menu. Waiter stated they were out of one of the desserts but there were actually two still available. Food was EXCELLENT. Fantastic value on Wednesdays.
Absolutely exquisite cooking. Everybody loved the many tastes.
Three course meal was excellent and good value. Even on a Wednesday restaurant was crowded and dinner was almost a two hour affair even with a 5:00pm reservation. So plan on good food and a lengthy dinner.
The food is wonderful. We have been there before but went for restaurant week and we were NOT disappointed! Such a great little place in downtown Escondido. They really do a great job with customer service and the food is simply delish!
You seem to have recaptured the old Vincent feel of solid but unpretentious cooking in a lovely but unpretentious setting. Escondido needs what you offer so keep it up. I have said it all. too bad
Excellent food, excellent service. Enjoyable dining.
When on a busy Friday night for SD Restrauant Week. first time there.
Price Fixed meal for $30.
I had the petit filet and my wife had a salmon.
To started had the roasted beet salad and wife had the butternut squash soup.
Overall we were very please
We will be going back.
Wow, just wow - we ate here for Restaurant Week and everything we had was just excellent. Taste was wonderful, the presentation of the food was very well done, and service was excellent So we will definitely be back soon!
Wonderful dining experience! Great food and service as usual. Keeps us coming back!
We really enjoyed dining at Vincent’s. Food was outstanding, service excellent. Overall a very enjoyable dining experience at a reasonable price. My wife raves about the duck confit very very good..
It was restaurant week here in San Diego and usually we are very disappointed during this event But Vincent's surprised us. It was delicious plus the menu had a ton of choices. Value for money absolutely! This restaurant never disappoints us.
We visited here for Restaurant Week. We had an excellent dining experience. Cant wait to go again.
