Vincente's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Friendly staff, personable and attentive albeit service could be tightened up. Food was good. Filet tasty and done to our liking. Kids pasta delicious, tasted freshly made . If you like authentic Caesar salad enthusiastically prepared table side, order it, it was just yummy!
Having been to Vincente's several times on our own and finding it a delightful venue, we took our friends there to celebrate his retirement after 30+ years at W.L. Gore. As usual, the food was excellent served by the charming and charismatic Susie who we must remember the next time we go. Once again we were entertained by Danny making Caesar Salad at the table. Only the fact of our being too full after entrees prevented us from getting the table-side Bananas Foster!!! Terrific neighborhood gem ...
If I want to impress my friends, I definitely take them to Vincente's. I had a chance to do impress 3 newbies to this fantastic restaurant. If you have never been here, there are 3 "MUST DOs" upon your first visit. #1-Order the Caesar salad. You won't be disappointed in the least by this homemade tableside creation of fresh flavors. #2-Order the banana foster, tableside. This sweet indulgence is worth it! #3-Order the café el diablo....this fiery concoction is to die for....
Do not let me forget to mention the best bartender ever (Thanks Tom); the best chef ever (Thanks Danny); the best server (Thanks Kaitlyn); and every other person part of the Vincente's team-I love your team work, pleasant personalities and overall great service-Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!
We were greeted warmly and made to feel welcomed. Rachel our server, was cordial, accommodating, and efficient with out being intrusive...a real gem. One of the owners was a character, flinging cheese balls across the room into the table side Caesar Salads that he made. We could have done without this side show, which was better reserved for a Benihana. Our food was very good and of ample portion. We enjoyed the remainder the following night. My wife's cocktail was well made and tasty. Draw back is the limited " wine per glass" offerings, although the Cab I ordered was tasty. I would recommend dining at this restaurant.
I had higher hopes considering the ratings and number of reviews. My wife and I came for our regular Friday night date night, we got the beer cheese soup, gnocchi, and seafood cannelloni. We also got two glasses of wine, two different kinds of pinot grio, the Bertani and the House but we are convinced they bought us two glasses of the same wine. The tasted exactly the same. The beer cheese soup was good but the rest of it was not worth the price. The gnocchi and tomato sauce did not taste any different than gnocchi you would find frozen in the grocery store and store bought jar of tomato sauce. My wife's seafood cannelloni was a little better. Although some pieces of the pasta was really hard as if half the noodle was sticking out of the water when they made it so it did not cook evenly. I was kind of entertaining watching them make the table side caesar salad but after the third or fourth table of him trying to throw the cheese in the bowl and missing, it got old. I think our total bill was around $70 or so and for the same price I would much rather go to Taverna on Main Street.
Had a reservation via open table, as it was Valentines Day. They were extremely organized. I noticed they had all the reservations on an ipad, with the table number for each reservations, and a white board of the layout. Thus we were promptly seated. They obviously put a lot of thought and planning into the busy night, and thus people were seated promply when they arrived. Food was great as always.
As always, EXCELLENT food. I hadn't been there since Vincente's unfortunate passing, but his son seems to have picked up right where his dad left off. I always get the Caesar Salad, not only because it's the best Caesar salad around, but the manner in which it delivered makes the moderately high price worth while. The salad is made right at your table and you get a bit of entertainment and charming conversation from the owner as he prepares it.
Ambiance is usually very nice, but this was a very busy night and my date and I were sat at a table right outside the kitchen, which was noisy and the space behind my date seemed to be a place where servers would store their tray holders until they needed. This was rather disturbing if not rude. Otherwise - and in all of the many other times I have dined at Vincente's - the experience is outstanding.
I might also suggest server dress code or uniform updates. For an obviously classy and potentially romantic place to dine, they seemed a little under-dressed and not up to the very high standards that are set for every other aspect of this wonderful place.
Me and my wife went their on Valentines day the service was exceptional the best part of the meal was the soup and salad. The preplanned valentines menu seemed well thought out but the food had no seasoning very Bland I had the stuffed Veal with Crab and Shrimp the shrimp was the kind from shrimp cocktail. But every review I read said the food was outstanding maybe it was just the menu that night.
Decided to check this place out after hearing positive things from friends. Decided to go for our Valentine's Dinner on 2/11. Place was packed and had trouble finding a parking spot! Not impressed by the ambiance: carpet was disgusting with cheese thrown all over the place, tables dirty and not bused, silverware and glassware was cheap and dirty. Apparently they had no idea it would be a busy night and were under staffed! Hard to believe the Saturday before Valentine's Day when EVERY restaurant is slammed. Long wait times for drinks and even longer times for food. Because the place was highly recommended, we may try it again in the future and I am hoping we just came in on an "off night".
We celebrated my Mom's 71st birthday at Vincente's - it was "OUTSTANDING". Russell our waiter was "Fabulous", Danny was as always "Entertaining" and Tommy as everyone knows him was the "Friendly" bartender. Thank you all for making our dining experience one to remember. We will be sure to return!!!
Read the reviews and just had to try this place!
What a hidden gem! The complimentary appetizer was delicious and a nice surprise. The real treat was the tableside Caesar salad preparation... very entertaining
The service was excellent, the pasta is all homemade and delicious! They were very accommodating.
Will definitely be returning soon!!!!
It was our first time and I had only read the reviews on opentable but I have to say hands down it was he most friendly and best service I have ever seen and the food was to die for the Cesar salad was the best I have ever had the filet melted like butter everything was delicious I highly recommend vincentes and I will be returning many times
4 of us went here for NYE and the food was great, caesar salad could have been mixed a bit more but it was still good. It was $60 pp for a 4 course meal, which was a little expensive, could have gotten the same things all for less than $60 pp. There wine list is a bit lacking, they only had 3 wines by the glass so we ended up buying an overpriced bottle.
The service, our waitress was not so good. She took forever to do everything, and we asked for water 3x and when she finally did remember she said there was a boy who was walking around doing that....either way, they were NOT busy! We were the last people in the restaurant and not by choice.....we barely had enough time to get home and see the ball drop (we were going to Smyrna).
We went to the restaurant on Christmas Eve. The kitchen was slow, although it might not be typical, and in any event, we were not in a hurry. The potato gnocchi did not really taste like gnocchi and was not very good and the portion was small. I would steer clear. On the other hand, the seafood cannelloni was very good and a very substantial portion. The rolls were warm and tasty although my personal preference is more for bread. We had the dinner salad, which was as lightly dressed as any restaurant salad I have ever had, so three cheers to the kitchen!
The family had a very good meal for Christmas Eve, The food was fresh and tasted great and you have so many options to change things on the menu like the type sauce, pasta veg. their table side salad is very good but pricey. Don't expect to only be a little while at dinner. There was 5 of us and we were there 2 hours but we like that and hate to be rushed out the door. The waiter was very good and the owner comes to the table and does the salad table side. kids menu and bar service.
