The restaurant was very cold and uncomfortable throughout the entire meal. Was warmer in the ladies room -which is where I went to warm my hands. The manager was very attentive. Not my favorite chicken piccata as Italian restaurants go.
Linda, we are so sorry the temperature was uncomfortable. Thank you for taking the time to rate us and share your experience. Hope to host you again soon and that the next dish will wow you! Happy holidays, Holy City Hospitality
We are there twice and the food and service were excellent! Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a terrific Italian dinner.
Thank you for the recommendation. We really appreciate it. So glad you enjoyed your cuisine and service while visiting us. We hope to host you again soon. Happy Holidays, Holy City Hospitality
Celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary.
Caesar salad was great. I think it had bits of whole white anchovies in it. My wife had a sliced steak with olives and peppers that was cooked perfectly. I had the veal piccata. The breading was thick and sopped up a lot of juice and grease, which made it really soggy. I ended up scraping most of it off. There were the biggest capers I've ever seen and lots of them. The capers and the lemon overwhelmed any other flavor. Just too much. It should have been a more delicate flavor. The pasta was weird. It was kind of translucent, like rice noodles. I ended up leaving it.
Most of the staff was very good, though main server was pretty distracted and not very attentive. The food and atmosphere were great. Would come back again
Thank you so much taking the time to rate your recent dining experience at Vincent Chicco’s! We are glad you had an enjoyable time with us and we hope to see you again soon. Best, Holy City Hospitality
Service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant gets a lot of bleed over noise from the adjacent and connected Victor Social Club. Decor is striving for Old World elegance, and furnishings were comfortable. We shared a caprese salad for an appetizer, and the tomatoes were cold, as in had been refrigerated- which ruins the flavor of a good tomato. The fresh mozzarella was good and the balsamic dressing was nice. The pasta with puttanesca sauce featured what seemed to be house-made al dente pasta that was good. The sauce had whole cooked cherry tomatoes and whole olives, with anchovies and capers of course. While the sauce was pretty good, I felt it would have benefited from at least coarsely chopping the vegetables and crushing the anchovies so that the flavor was better distributed among the pasta. The spaghetti and meatballs had lovely, delicious meatballs. The sauce was nothing to knock your socks off. Not offered was a sprinkle of fresh ground parmigiana, which would have been appreciated. Given the plethora of amazing restaurants in Charleston, we may not be back.

Upon entry to exit we were treated with great courtesy and attention. The food was excellent! And because it was a birthday dinner, we were given a desset surprise!
Joan, We are so glad you had a great dining experience with us & were attended to with great courtesy. Thank you for taking the time to share. We look forward to hosting you again soon! - Holy City Hospitality
Good level of attention and knowledge by our server. Food and wine were very good. Quiet ambience was perfect for business.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We love to hear that you and your family were here dining and breaking bread with us. That is the vision we have always had for our restaurant. We hope to host you all again soon. - Holy City Hospitality
This has been one of my favorites ever since it opened on Hutson’s Alley. We haven’t been there for several months so we decided to go last weekend. It seems to have changed, losing its feeling of being a high-end, special place. My caprese appetizer was unexceptional and the veal Parmesan ranks below average for “checkered tablecloth” level restaurants. It still carries a hefty price tag, though. I hope they try to get back to their roots! We used to really love their food and the experience, but we’re now unsure about whether we will return.
Great opportunity to have the family sit around the table and break bread, laugh and feel as if we’re at home! Great service and food!
The restaurant is noisy. The menu is limited and the food is at best average. The one meal in Charleston that i wish i had a do over on.
Thank you for taking the time to share your most recent dining experience. We apologize that your visit was less than exceptional. - Holy City Hospitality
I’ve been to Charleston on business for each of the last 10 years but this is my first dinner at VC’s. The fettuccine with mushroom sauce is THE BEST I have ever had! When I come back to Charleston next November, VC’s will def be the first dinner I have!
William, We are honored to have you rate our mushroom sauce as THE BEST. We really appreciate it. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. We hope to host you again soon. - Holy City Hospitality
We were looking for an authentic Italian restaurant in Charleston and were somewhat disappointed. The service and pizzas were very good, but the rest of our dinner was just fair. Our biggest concern was the freshness of the ingredients. We will try the restaurant again to see if this was a fluke or not.
hank you for taking the time to give us feedback on your recent visit to Vincent Chicco’s and we hope you will join us again soon. Best, Holy City Hospitality
Visiting Charleston for the first time. Reviews looked good and this place did not disappoint. Excellent service, romantic ambience and fabulous food. Sausage stuffed Peppers, outstanding warm beet salad, pear and prosciutto pizza and Calabria pizza were all delicious. Highly recommend.
Loud pop music and lackluster food execution.
Our server was phenomenal! Always anticipating our needs. The place was beautiful and mood was nice and relaxed. Wish it would have been a little livelier, but it was a Sunday night.
Cathy, We are so glad you had a great server and experience with us recently at Vincent Chicco's! We look forward to hosting you again in the future. - Holy City Hospitality
Went her for impromptu date night, and it was a great find. The food was delicious, best pizza I’ve had in a long time. The service was fabulous too. We’ll be going back very soon.
Window above us leaked throughout the dinner and we received an apology.
In the beginning service was slow. We were attending the Chris Botti show at 8:00 pm. Dinner reservations were 6:15 bu t had to return after the show to get our dessert as we ran out of time. Food was just so, so.
Beautiful setting, wonderful food and great service. Very much enjoyed my dinner
Food was below average. Indifferent and inattentive service. No one offered any explanations of the menu.
Do not waste your time and money in that restaurant. There are many better options in Charleston.
This place has a very authentic feel and the food was wonderful. Our waiter was very attentive. There was a private party upstairs that was a bit loud but that was the only negative. Great meal.
The food was straight from the freezer. Total Cisco/US Foods frozen food service dinner.
This hidden Italian restaurant is worth going to. The food was very good. Natalie was our server who was very friendly and made sure that we had what we needed to enjoy our experience. Kudus Natalie. It was a quiet night which was so great enjoying our meal in this large classic room. Exactly what my wife and I was looking for.
I definite place to for dinner when in Charleston.
salmon and braised short ribs were both amazing dishes. Great ambiance. highly recommend
Ambience and environment are quaint and rustic with the brick wall, wooden bar, large accent mirror and the spiral staircase.
Server was attentive and helpful.
Food good. Reasonably priced for the amount of food. We were sampling possible menu options for our scheduled wedding rehearsal dinner, which we booked earlier that day for next Spring.
Disappointed by the bruschetta. Too bread-y (almost like on thick cold focaccia)......not toasted or broiled with a cold chopped tomato topping and balsamic glaze. Also, the tiramisu was with some type of sponge cake versus lady fingers. Not traditional. Tasty, but not what we expected. Otherwise entrees generous and good flavor (veal piccata and chicken Parmesan). Both came with large servings of pasta.
A rehearsal dinner was occurring upstairs and we could hear the speeches, but the restaurant was essentially empty as we dined early due to Symphony event.
Would recommend for an intimate date night.
It took a long time for our waitress to acknowledge our presence and took a long time to get served. We probably waited about an hour before our food came out after we ordered despite there only being a few tables occupied in the entire restaurant when we went later at night. However, when the food did come out it was great!
It was our first visit to the restaurant, and we were very happy with our experience! The environment was decorated so nicely, and had a romantic, atmosphere; the food was superb, and the staff was friendly. Would definitely go back!
Food was good, people were very nice but service was awful. Painfully slow - the place was not crowded and dinner shouldn’t have taken 2 plus hours. Also if you have to go up to the bar to get a refill on your wine because your waitress never comes back that’s a problem.
Food was not very good at all.
Unfortunately the entrees weren’t very good.
Great authentic Italian food - excellent service - we were impressed.
Second time to visit Vincent Chicco's and invited friends. It was a quiet Wednesday evening so the noise level was very low, service was excellent as always, but the food was not as fully expected. Appetizers were wonderful, entrees a little lacking in temperature (2/4 were warm - not hot - when they hit the table), the flavors were not as robust as during my prior experience and one of our party ordered a pizza that looked amazing only it was 90% dough and extremely heavy. Dessert was very good and overall I'd have to say it could have been an off-night for the kitchen staff in terms of performance but I'll give it another shot for sure.
Vincent Chicco’s is one of the nicest Italian restaurants I’ve ever been to and we have been to a lot! We travel and eat at a lot of five star restaurants. Vincent Chicco’s is definitely in my top three 😊 we highly recommend this wonderful Italian restaurant! The ambience is one of the best!!! It’s definitely a have to do when in Charleston, South Carolina!
This restaurant COULD be a wonderful spot for dining or social gathering. The service was good, waitress very good, food good, but it all seemed rather tired. Just a little perking up would do wonders. The building has beautiful features, but little is done to create more welcome at the door, or even outside in the charming alley way. I wanted a jazz guitarist or little combo in the room. Even the bar seemed to have potential (perfect martini), but there were no patrons sitting there. Spruce it up!
Awesome... Wonderful menu! Great service! Went for the veal piccata, going back for that beautiful salmon!
Forget location, just fine this fine restaurant.....
This was hands down some of the best food I have eaten in years. We have been talking about it for a couple of days now. The only downside to the whole experience is that we live two hours away. But if we are back to the area anytime soon we will definitely go back again.
Great food and service
