My husband and I had the Filet Migon and lobster tail. They were cooked perfectly. The sides were fantastic. Meal was on the pricey side but worth it. We very much enjoyed our evening.
Vince Young Steakhouse exceeded our expectations on every level. The food was superb, as was our wine. Great experience! Cannot wait to go again.
Steaks were great, as was Mac and cheese and corn. Liked the sliders. Burger was so-so, fries were soggy, thin, under seasoned.
Nice ambience with high quality steaks. Very attentive servers.
Expected more for the price. Clientele in shorts and tee shirts does not help the ambiance. One person was wearing gym shorts and basketball attire. While the wait staff did a decent job, if I am going to spend $200 for a dinner we need to be treated like we are special. Heck, I have had better dinners at Texas Land & Cattle. My suggestion to owners of this establishment. Go have dinner at Nick & Sams in Dallas and then compare to the service you are providing. You have a long way to go to meet that level. Food was ok - but not great.
By the way, my wife and I were celebrating our 38th anniversary. What a dud.
Wes was a phenomenal server, anticipating our every need. The bone-in ribeye was divine! One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Wasn’t crazy about the panna cotta dessert though, very rich without a “memorable” taste to it.
The waiter at the other table intentionally opened the blinds in a rude way after we had our waiter close them. Very rude. The food & our waiter were great nonetheless.
The sommelier did a great job of finding as a wine in the cellar which our guests loved! The Perfect 10 and the bone-in NY strip were outstanding.
We had a great meal - thank you.
It was okay. Expected to be equal to other fine dining we have visited before.
We loved our meal there and Kyle was a great server.
My steak--the filet was outstanding! And they made special arrangements for a salad dressing for me.
The food and service were excellent. The ambience was too dark and gloomy. The entire decor needs to be remodeled and made lighter and brighter. It would be nice to see the really good, upscale restaurants in Austin have some reasonable dress code. My wife and I are so turned off by almost all the men coming to a nice dinner in Cargo shorts and flip flops, baseball caps and glasses on top of their head. We have only found Trulucks to have a dress code so far.
My Mom wanted to treat me to VYS for my birthday. We had a great time and the food was especially good. My only disappointment were the mash potatoes. Be ready to pay a lot of money though. Service was very good.
The food and service was exceptional! We will definitely be back again.
Great food & atmosphere! Server was O.K... took quite a while for him to approach us for our order/drinks
A client dinner so perfect setting. Bone in ribeye was just as I wanted.
A friend recommended this restaurant for my husbands birthday and Vince Young’s did not disappoint. Food was incredible. Service was top notch and we will definitely be returning soon.
It was our first trip to Austin and I wanted to take my husband somewhere special. This restaurant fit the bill and tgen some! The steak was tender, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance was supreme. Our experience was everything it needed to be.
Great service, I especially like when the staff makes recommendations on particular dishes it shows they have at least tried the food (my assumption). The bar is worth getting there early, try one of their specialty drinks. The ambiance is very nice it’s not your typical steakhouse.
Loved Loved the cream spinach and of course steak was DELISH. My only complaint was the lighting overhead depending on where you sat at my booth was kinda blinding and was giving me a slight headache. I do appreciate good lighting as it was hard to read menu. Perhaps a cute little flashlight could be offered for this over 40 patrons may not have the best eyesight.
Food was great. Vince young was going table to table talking to all of the guests too. Super nice guy.
I believe our waiter's name was Josh. He was excellent and definitely knowledgeable, especially on wine. He recommended a fabulous bottle of wine that we will add to our favorites list! Thanks, Josh!
A friend & I went to Vince Young Steakhouse for the first time as a celebration. We were very happy with the attentiveness of our server; we were clearly not in a hurry, and he paced the orders and the meal nicely. The food was consistently good. The portions were large. But we both felt that the prices were excessive, and the fact that everything on the menu was a la carte contributed to the sense that we were being nickel-and-dimed (only with $10 bills). On top of that, valet parking was $12 in addition to a tip for the hardworking valet attendant. With a couple of glasses of wine each, and including the tip, we spent about $300 for dinner for two.
I dine out in fine restaurants frequently, and don't begrudge spending top dollar for an excellent meal. But the bottom line for this meal wasn't in line with the experience. I can get an equally good steak dinner at other restaurants in Austin for much less. And the ambience of the restaurant wasn't particularly special.
Vince Young’s is hit or miss for us. We have been several times. Sometimes it’s amazing then sometimes it’s average. Unfortunately, this visit was average. I really want it to be more consistent because we love the restaurant.
Steaks were over cooked
Just awesome service and wonderful food. Great filets!
Food was excellent, the filet was tender and cooked just how I asked. Service very good as well. Trendy upscale decor. Would highly recommend Vince Young’s!
Once again Vince Young's steakhouse didn't disappoint. Always perfect steaks and lovely sides. Dessert was special as well. Our favorite place to meet.
Was a regular until last weekend. Bone-in ribeye extra fatty and they dropped my favorite side dishes from their new menu. If it works, don't fix it.
Good overall Steakhouse. The food preparation was typical but not spectacular. Presentation was minimal. Steaks cooked accurately. Just not a memorable place as Austin has so many fine restaurants.
A great venue for a nice romantic or celebratory occasion. We celebrated my husband's birthday here and the service was top notch from beginning to end. Thanks to our server, West! The food was delicious and done very well. Feel free to share plates because the portions can be family style. The details in the decor was elegantly and the lighting, atmosphere is great for intimate and personal conversations.
Great food, waiter was knowledgeable and very helpful with our order.
They have a pretty good wine selection. We had a $200 bottle of Cakebread "Dancing Bear Ranch" cabernet, which was something from their cellar (not on wine list). It was really good and the presentation was really nice.
Unfortunately, they don't seem to grasp the concept of dairy restrictions. :/ My wife had their salmon and I asked them to replace the cream, in the sauce that comes on it, with butter or something else. They brought her fish out without ANY sauce. When I asked them again, they brought the sauce with cream, so we gave up. :/
I also had their Waygu ribeye. They undercooked it (rare instead of medium rare+ to medium as I requested) and it had to be sent back to the grill. It was a really good piece of meat once I got it cooked to my liking. Brussel sprouts were just meh.
Overall, the food was good, but I wasn't impressed with the experience. There are much better steak restaurant experiences in Austin.
Celebrated our fifty fourth wedding anniversary. Evening was very enjoyable, service was perfect. We would certainly return.
First time in Austin for three of us girlfriends, wanted to have a nice dinner out to celebrate one of us getting married. Attentive servers, great ambiance, charcuterie board and scallop entree were especially delicious, even brought out a congratulations small dessert for the bride to be (complete surprise). Overall great experience especially after someone called from the restaurant the very next day to ensure we had a good experience and thank us for coming in.
Over priced. Trying to capitalize on the name.
There are other steak houses that are just as good or better and more reasonably priced
Attempted to book at 7pm, but reservations accept 6:45pm or 7:30pm on a Thursday night. Got us excited because we thought it would be packed and have great food. Wrong! We were one of 5 tables. Ordered pork belly for appetizer and we thought it was a salad only to be corrected the small bits of bacon were on the bottom. I order filet with jumbo lump crab, bacon Mac and cheese and kids the brisket burgers. I saw the kids sit back in their chairs not eating anymore of their $23 burgers. Terrible... bacon Mac and cheese was a ball of waxy goo and to quote what I told the manager “I’ve had a better steak at Golden Corral.” Not to mention the crab tasted like it was from a Can. One bite of waxy Mac, three of steak and a few pieces of crab we were done. At least the manager comped our meal as he stated “I’ve never heard such an issue in 5 years.” Left there for Eddie V’s and Home run!
