We were looking for a place to unwind and have a nice dinner. Everything from the service, food, and ambiance was fabulous!
We were so looking forward to trying this restaurant but were very disappointed. Our reservation was a 5:00 PM but the valet wasn't there yet so we just parked and told the hostess that they could send the valet to get our keys. Our waiter took them to the valet but then one of them came in asking for our keys. Strange start. We started with the charcuterie plate which was actually excellent. We asked the waiter for more bread which we never got, my husband ordered a salad which he never got. He ordered the rib eye which was tough and chewy and their steak knives are not very sharp which made cutting the steak difficult. My filet was tender but still not easy to cut with the dull steak knife. Both steaks were properly cooked but nothing outstanding. The mushrooms were nothing special but the brussel sprouts were great. Our waiter was attentive and friendly but all in all it was a disappointing night out.
Wonderful food, service and ambiance. Our waiter was very attentive and extremely helpful, the support staff was equally as exceptional. The steaks were tender, very tasteful. The sides were perfectly prepared. It was easy to get to and we would recommend it to anyone traveling to Austin to visit and enjoy the experience. We will definitely return when we visit Austin again.
Great ambiance, waiter and most of all food. I would like to add the waiter communicated and checked on us without us feeling like he was sitting with us.
Outstanding way to celebrate Mother’s Day! I really appreciated it.
The steak was delicious. But I felt it was overpriced, just my opinion. But overall the atmosphere was nice.
Its all about the personalized service and attention to detail. The hostess calls to confirm the reservation and details of the reservation. Drinks at the bar, no pressure to be seated. Wait staff friendly, knowledgeable, and unobtrusive. Perfectly aged and prepared steaks - the best in Austin. Exceptional!
Very interesting and attractive decor. Missed pictures of Vince Young in action though. Food and service were excellent. It was a lovely dining experience to celebrate my 80th birthday.
The last time we visited Vince Young’s steakhouse, we had tickets to see Jeff Dunham at the Erwin Center. The portions were so large that I had to leave about half my steak on the plate, an absolute tragedy, seeing as how it’s the BEST steak in Austin. This time we brought friend to experience the mouthwatering fare. My wife has some food allergies, and the waiter came back time after time with questions and suggestions, and his service was impeccable. We all had steaks, my friend Simon took his first bite and his eyes rolled back in his head, and all he said was, Wow! Oh my....Another converted steak eater. We had the quail and lobster rolls as an appetizer, then I got to eat my entire steak, with very generous sides. Try the bacon with corn. Trust me. We followed up with wonderful desserts, and my friend told me he had been cooking steaks in various ways for 30 years, and never had gotten the fantastic flavor of his ribeye like he had here. Again, they are the absolutely best steaks in Austin. Period.
The food was very good. Service was excellent. Nice wine list.
Our guest was late and our waiter was very nice to not rush us.
For most expensive restaurants, I'll think, "Yeah, it's good. We'll come back, but not often because of the price." I'll come back because the food is excellent. Expensive, but excellent." We had great steaks, scallops and a wedge salad. Just excellent!
Excellent steak, a little pricey for quality, average place to hang out.
From start to finish everything was perfect - all the food, the staff was amazing, and our waiter was spectacular. It couldn’t have been better!
I'm in Austin for a few days on business. I brought my husband along to tack on a quick vacation/late anniversary. It's our first time in Austin and our concierge recommended Jeffrey's, but they were booked so we ended up here as it's a short walk from the Fairmont.
The steaks were solid. Not the best I've ever had but good. I ordered the "Perfect 10", an American-Waygu ribeye. It was good but a little tough around the outer edges. My husband ordered the 22oz bone-in ribeye. It was well-trimmed and had decent flavor but was under-seasoned. He added sautéed mushrooms. They had good flavor but may as well have been canned given the texture. The creamed horseradish was entirely devoid of flavor and worth skipping, especially given the extra charge.
We ordered the steakhouse potatoes as a side and they were solid. Nothing to write home about. The crab cake was the standout of the evening. Large chunks of lump crab, a nice crust in top, good seasoning and a bright sauce. I would definitely eat that again.
I ordered a whiskey sour. It was obviously made with sour mix and not fresh lime, it lacked egg whites and came with a maraschino cherry. Maybe this is a Texas thing? I only ordered the one.
The service was fine but not great. Our water glasses sat empty for upwards of 10 minutes. The food was fairly slow despite it being dead and a Thursday. They brought out a complimentary desert for our anniversary which was very kind. It was a rich but delicious floorless chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. It took a while for the check. The server also kept calling me "my lady" which I found uncomfortable. He was otherwise pleasant.
Would I come here again? Not likely. I left well-fed but not really wowed. Having eaten at many other steakhouses across the country, Vince Young felt like something you'd find in a high-end mall but nothing I'd go out of my way for.
Our total with tip was a little over $220.
Good customer service.
Vince Young’s was great as always. They never disappoint from the food to the service. Best Steakhouse in Austin hands down.
Anniversary, took a while to get our bottle of wine. But after that service was on point!!
Great dinner and service as always for our business meeting dinner. Highly recommend. Had the pleasure of meeting Vince Young as well as he was gracious to take a pic with our group.
My daughter and I both had the 12 oz filet mignon. It was without a doubt the finest either of us have ever had. I had broccolini as a side, my daughter had asparagus with bearnaisse and both were delicious. I highly recommend the Burnt Orange-tini for those who imbibe. Wonderful drink. Desserts were superb as well. Can't go wrong for a special occasion!!!
Great service and fabulous food. It was my birthday and they brought me dessert. Very nice touch.
What a fabulous experience. Delicious food and wine. We constantly notice the philanthropy at numerous benefits by this locally owned restaurant. Not only are you guys generous, your place is beautiful and your food is delicious. You are the REAL thing!
Was in town visiting and wanted a nice classic steak dinner. We were not disappointed. Table was romantic. Food was delicious. Service was excellent. I didn’t have room for dessert but we split one and it was perfect. Drinks were also top notch. Vince Young is everything you’d expect from a quality steakhouse. Well, at least for a non-Texan (Philadelphians). Haha.
Like it’s namesake, this restaurant is a shell of its former self.
Great food and restaurant, but had to ask multiples times for refills before receiving them
Both the staff and food were fantastic. Great splurge for a date night!
We came for an early dinner and stayed in the bar for happy hour. The food and service were first-rate and the prices fantastic. We will be back when we are in Austin next year!
This was our first time, sat us by the restroom (yes, we had reservations). The food was very mediocre. Surprised they did not have a dress code. Several people walking around in shorts, T-shirts and hats on. Was very disappointed. It was my husbands birthday and I felt terrible that I suggested we ear here. Oh well...
We had a wonderful experience! The food was fabulous! Our waiter was awesome! The atmosphere was really nice! We will be returning soon!
Used to love to eat here but food quality way down. Won’t be back.
Food and service were great. My filet was cooked exactly how I odered.
Simply excellent! Great place to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Definitely worth the drive from San Antonio, the service was wonderful.
The food was amazing especially the bone-in ribeye as well as the caesar salad. It was great to meet up have conversations and the service was very quick.
I have been coming to Vince Young's the past 3 years to celebrate my birthday. Each time I come the service by Aris has been outstanding and our food has been delicious.
Seemed a bit pricey. Very nice staff. The creamed spinach was outstanding but the prime ribeye was too salty.
We were there with some friends for my husband's birthday and we had a phenomenal time. The steaks were buttery and juicy and the scallops with tender and flavor full. The food was just a wonderful delight. And for the drinks, on point. I don't think that there was a drink ordered that wasn't enjoyed thoroughly. The waiter was so attentive and friendly. He paid attention to each and everyone of us to make sure that we didn't want for anything , especially the birthday man. We will definitely make this a Gathering Place when we had back to Austin.
Kyle was amazing! We’ve eaten at Vince Young’s many times and so far we’ve had Kyle twice and absolutely enjoy having him as our server! 10 STARS!
We always celebrate our special occasions and after longhorns games here it's just incredible.
Vince Young Steakhouse was so elegant and our dinner was delicious. We’re from the East Coast and were really hoping for an awesome Texas steak - we did not leave disappointed. The burnt orange cocktail was also delicious. I would absolutely go back and would recommend this place.
Scott gave us excellent service, and the food was delicious!
