Vince Young Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We have been here before and come back because the food is consistently good. The service is also excellent. We had reservations at 10:00 after a football game and never felt rushed or that they wanted us to hurry so they could leave. The perfect 10 steak is our favorite, and their sides and appetizers are great as well. We will definitely come back here!
I took my son, a freshman at the University of Texas, to a special dinner while I was in town on business. We enjoyed a delicious steak meal. The meat was delicious as were the sides. With a drink (for me), an appetizer, steaks and two sides, we got out of there for $185 including the tip. So it's for special occasions. But very good.
Vince Young's Steakhouse is absolutely amazing. Kip, Leslie and Carrie will take care of anything you want or need. Not to mention, the steaks! They are the best in Austin. In addition, the mac & cheese is a must have. We love this place! Don't hesitate to try it out.
The food was amazing!! Our waiter, Carte(sp?) was absolutely exceptional!!! He was well
versed in wine selections & food recommendations. We will definitely ask for him at our
next visit. We celebrated 2 separate birthdays at this outing, & both people felt special.
We had a reservation for 6:15, it was not crowded when we arrived. We ordered steaks, which is what they specialize in. We waited over 45 mins after appetizers arrived to get our main meal. Our waiter did not check on us for over 30 mins. We were told they were busy with a large group. We will not go back.
Vince Young's isn't inexpensive. But the food is well worth the cost. Really good. There are two things I didn't like. They serve complimentary bread, it should be served warm. And the steak knives are terrible, dull as dirt. It's a good thing the steaks are tender or they wouldn't work at all. These two items are very minor, I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
We took our son to celebrate his birthday and I indicated this on the reservation. Although, the food was great and the service was pretty good, I was disappointed that the restaurant did not do anything special for guests birthday's. Even a candle would have been nice. I told our server that we were celebrating our son's birthday, but still no special attention was made. I guess I should not have expected it. The prices are very high, but I guess that's typical now of downtown Austin restaurants. It is unfortunate that they charge a $12 valet parking fee, you will spend plenty at the restaurant alone.
Wait staff was great. Steak was a 4 on a scale of 5. Great wine list. I say noise level was high but it really was two people discussing family problems and were trying to out talk each other. The rest of the room was respectful and nice. Once the two people left the noise level was fine and we injoyed our desert. Unfortunantly it took to long for them to leave even though they had finished eat long before they left.
It was our 43rd wedding anniversary and really looked forward to a the evening at Vince Young. Did I say our waiter was great.
We had an amazing experience. Our server James was absolutely great. He made our experience enjoyable and fun. The ambiance was fantastic and perfect for our occasion. The meal was second to none. Best steaks ever, the appetizers were phenomenal. I recommend this restaurant to everyone that desires a great meal in any occasion
My second visit, and both were notable for excellent quality meat cooked skillfully the way we ordered. Well managed restaurant with knowledgeable, friendly and attentive staff. The wine list could be more extensive- I may consider bringing my own next time.
Wonderful restaurant with an amazing staff. Everything about the Vince Young steakhouse was outstanding! From the lovely seating to the low lighting to bring the romance out in the evening to the polite staff, the entire restaurant showed no shortcomings. An energetic waiter explained every detail of the menu, and walked us through our order, making the entire process easy and bump free. Our food arrived promptly and in a fabulous array! Who knew salad could look so divine. All the food came with wonderful presentation and even better taste. Nothing about the Vince Young Steakhouse will leave you dissatisfied except the sight of the door as you realize you have to leave eventually.
This is a very traditional steakhouse, in a good way. No big surprises but a nice variety beyond slabs of beef. The entrees give you some nice fish choices, chicken, and a wagyu burger.
The sides are predictable for a steakhouse which is good and they are done properly. The bone in rib eye was excellent and cooked exactly as described. Decor and ambience was very nice, dark woods, non-linear walls, comfortable booths, subdued lighting but not too dark. Service was very good.
4 stars vs. 5 stars? Price. I live in Los Angeles. I'm used to expensive meals and high priced steakhouses trying to outdo each each other. The prices at Vince's are too high by 20%. I really wanted the dry aged rib eye, but $85 was just silly.
I am a devout beef lover and I would go back to Vince's again because it's excellent. Just understand that they're pushing beyond the envelope on prices.
I LOVE Vince Young Steakhouse, they never disappoint! We took our out of town guests to Vince Young Steakhouse for dinner and we all had a wonderful evening. The food was exceptional, the service was excellent, the wine was perfect, I am a huge fan of this restaurant! My husband and I are foodies, we've been to almost every steakhouse in Austin and Vince Young Steakhouse is, by far, our favorite because the food and wine is incredible and you cannot beat their customer service, they win me over again and again. Thank you for a lovely evening!
We went here for our anniversary and this is a repeat for my wife's birthday. Great food, a little pricey, great wine selection. Our waiter, Mallory, was the greatest. Made our visit a real joy, ask for him, you won't be disappointed.
The food was well prepared and exceeded our expectations (my wife had a filet and said it was the best she has ever had).
We were not rushed and until a large group came in, conversation was easy. Even after the grop arrived, conversation was easy, they were just noticeable.
All in all, we were very pleased with our experience and will be making plans to come back again.
We were asked twice, once at reservation and then again when we arrived if it was a special night, both times replied anniversary. Nothing seemed to happen as a result and my wife and discussed it being odd to ask but never further mention or congratulations given. I was called by VY the next day to inquire how the night went, so I shared that. She said, "oh sorry you should have gotten a free dessert, I'll make sure it doesn't happen again". That was not the service or response I'd expect from a well trained staff. It was a disappointment overall and will not be going back.
Two of us ordered The Perfect Ten and one of us ordered the Filet. Both were absolutely superb. The Perfect Ten was juicy and bursting with flavor and the filet was so tender, I could have cut it with a butter knife. For sides, we ordered the Bacon Mac and Cheese and the Sautéed Corn with Bacon. These may sound like simple side dishes, but they were unbelievably delicious. Two sides were plenty for the three of us. At the end of the meal, the waiter brought us some house-made sea salt caramels. If we could have, we would have bought a jar of them! Our waiter was friendly and super attentive and stayed and made conversation with us for the perfect amount of time. We are from out of town so coming to Vince Young's is a special treat for us. There many restaurants in Austin to choose from, but we always make it a point to have dinner at Vince Young's.
My wife and I had been seeing the tv ads for the restaurant for a few years now. Finally, we decided to go and find out the quality and character of the place.
From the valet service to the receptionist to the waiter, the service was prompt and excellent.
The meal was delicious and the portions generous.
