No matter what the occasion, a romantic dinner for two, an important business meeting or gathering your family around the table, at Vince Young Steakhouse, we look forward to providing you with an exceptional dining experience.
View Private Dining DetailsWent because of its reputation, and because we had been to most of the other really good steakhouses. Ambience was nice. Short wait in the bar. Nice table when seated. Service started off really good but really tailed off over the night. Steak was great, but no checked to see if it was cooked properly (it was). Veggies and wine served about 10 minutes after steak arrived?? Go figure. And service went downhill from there. Service not as bad as what we experienced at Z'Tejas Grill at the Arboretum the night before, but really not what you would expect for a $200 dinner date either. Top it off the $50 we spent on two glasses of wine was wasted. Wine tasted terrible. Couldn't even finish the glass.....Recommendation - Go to Bob's. They never fail to deliver.
Def not a quiet place, but still romantic. Good red wine selection, but if you’re a white wine drinker, not much from which to choose. Food is always good.
Food was good, but I have a hard time paying that much money for food that is not organic, especially meat.
Steaks Perfect, Mallory our waiter was on point & entire staff made sure we had a perfect dining experience......even The Aggie in the group said it was best steak he has ever had!
Steaks were very tender and well seasoned. Very enjoyable meal. Would definitely return.
Wonderful dinner with my parents on the last night of their visit. Dessert was exceptional!!! Steaks were wonderful— perfectly cooked! Service was excellent!
First, the quality of food is low. Despite their desire to deliver a ‘prime steakhouse’ experience, they failed to deliver. Steaks too tough to eat, orders taken then we were informed ‘we’re out of that.’ Then a VERY loud table in the restaurant started what can only be called a ‘hog calling contest.’ When we complained, the owner said ‘they can do what they like with what they’re spending.’ No apologies except he did ask US to leave. I guess two people spending $500 wade is inconsequential. I’d avoid this place it’s nothing but a sports bar masquerading as a steakhouse. Perry’s, Ruth’s Chris or Fogo would have been far better choices. Utterly forgettable and terrible treatment from a very unprofessional manager.
Everything was Great! Anthony had a fabulous time he loved the food and the restaurant it self! Thank you!

Really great meal but the server made the night so special for us.
Our dinner was great and the server explained all their cuts and suggested things we really enjoyed and tasted wonderful . We both had the Filet and it was cooked perfect and the flavor was great. Would suggest it to my customers and friends . But remember you get what you pay for so expect it to be top tier on price and flavor but no complains here. Great service we will be back next visit in July!
Celebrated husbands bday. Only complaint was that our meal arrived before our appetizer and so we had too much food all at once.
We have been about 5 times now and the last 2 times I think we must have just had waiters that weren't the best. This time we arrived nearly the time it opened. The place was mostly empty. They sat us quickly and then we waited....we waited for 10 minutes and no one came to see us. There was another waiter helping another table very close to us but we obviously were at a table he was not taking care of. After 10 minutes my husband when back up to the hostess station and told them no one was helping us. They apologized and went back to figure it out. The waiter finally came out and said that no one told him he had a table. Okay. Then he just had no personality. He was very soft spoken and hard to hear, he did not explain the menu or the meat board we ordered. The waiters before have always been very helpful and out-going, very welcoming. He was not. However, I will say he did keep our water and coffee fresh, he did check on us and our food was DELICIOUS! So overall, we love VY Steakhouse but wish all the waiters were of the same caliber.
First time there...recommended by several hotel employees. Prices about as expected...certainly not an inexpensive place. Disappointed in the steak...a bit grizzley. Sides were excellent and plentiful! Service very good.
Have been going to VY Steakhouse for many years and every time I go, quality of food and service drops moderately. With this last visit, it's time to move on to a new place for great steaks. During my recent visit on a Saturday night, waiter wasn't very attentive. Brought appetizer and 2 minutes later brought salad (last time I checked, wait staff brings next dish after current course is finished by guests). When the main course arrived, only 2 dishes (out of 4) were served and waiter was looking over shoulder trying to figure out where the other half of the order was. After a couple of minutes, he came back with the rest of the entrees. Steak was correctly cooked for 2 of 4 in our party. I ordered a medium and got a well done steak (waiter never asked if it was cooked correctly). Sad to see this place continue to drop in food quality and service. Hopefully Mattress Mack's daughter (Laura McInvale - owner you see on TV commercials) will try to improve.
Fantastic! Highly recommend in-Vince-afying your steak!
Delicious food. We enjoyed the Boneless Ribeye and the Tomahawk pork chop. Nice atmosphere, but the booths in the middle of the restaurant could have been a little deeper.
Amazing steak and Brussels sprouts! Our waiter, Gary, was extremely awkward. He just stood at our table not saying anything every time he came over to get our order for something. We had to say "I guess we will order now" and he would say "okay." He was very nice, but super awkward which made for an uncomfortable dining experience.
We were there for my husbands birthday. It was a wonderful experience!
The steaks were amazing, and the wine selection was very reasonably priced for the quality. It would have been worth the trip just to meet Joe, our waiter. He made the evening all the more special and memorable. Highly recommended!
The evening was not enjoyable as the noise level was immense with 2 large groups. The dark interior is rather old school also. The pricing is quite high with all the sides being extra. I just had an amazing meal at Truluck's in Austin where sides were provided. Will not be in a hurry to visit in the near future.
The place was very noisy because the owner had a birthday party going. The wine list is reasonable. The 8 oz Filet Mignon was superbly rare and tasty. No complaint. The side order of mushroom was insipide and the side of fois gras was greasy. The plate really looked bare with just the fillet on it and a small dish with the side. The calamari appetizer was well cooked and crunchy, but the red sauce was nothing to brag about.
No bread was served, even though we later saw bread served at other tables. The sever was nice, but seemed to be rushed. The place was full.
Since it was our anniversary, they did offer a free dessert which my wife and I shared. The dessert was very good.
The dinner and a modest bottle of wine for 2 was around $190.00. Too expensive for what we got.
Beat steakhouse in Austin. Serve steakhouse quality unlike the imitators in town serving HEB steaks and charging $$
Great for business, special occasion or just because. We had a great time.
The steak was terrible and a waste of money. Will not be returning.
Drinks were good. Crab cakes weren’t anything special. Salads were simple which is fine, but ingredients were low quality (e.g. soggy tomatoes). Quality of the beef wasn’t up to par for a high end steak house, but they were well cooked. I would but this at the level of a Salt Grass or similar.
Food is meh, given the price. Actual steak quality was good but prep was so so. Sides looked more interesting on the menu than they tasted. I think there are a lot of better steak houses in town.
The ribeye was excellent and you have to try the Quail!
I appreciate VY for making sure no tables were seated around us so that we could have a productive business dinner. Thank you!
I have to say I was disappointed. We had high expectations regarding this restaurant and were disappointed in the wait staff. When we first arrived we were greeted well, had our reservations and also mentioned the special occasion we were celebrating (a birthday for our daughter) which I had written on Open Table. The wait staff was not very knowledgeable, not very experienced and apparently did not get the information about the birthday we were celebrating because it was not acknowledged in any way. Very disappointing. We felt that the restaurant would be more upscale and it was not. Appeared very casual for night time dining.
My husband’s birthday
What a fantastic steakhouse and experience. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable.
Well done Restaurant. Good food and service is above average. Far better than other high end SteakHouses. We were pleasantly impressed with menu and wine list. Excellent!
Our waiter made the experience even better than it already was. He was personable and attentive. We’d return even if you changed the food, just to be served again by our waiter - wish I could remember his name!!!
Excellent food and service.
Nice and relaxing dinner. Service was good, food was good but not amazing. We’ve been to better steakhouses but nothing to complain about. All around fine dinner.
We celebrated 2 birthdays there. Service was very attentive. Great job by the bold dude with a goatee. The food came quickly. Best crab cakes we ever had. Charcuterie plate was ok, could have been more creative. Steaks were great. We all got the Perfect 10. For some reason, my steak had a lot more fat than the other two guys’ steaks. I would recommend ordering the filet mignon instead. Wine was pricey but who’s counting.
It was great.
Service was excellent food was delicious!
Great food, service was not as good as we hoped. Not bad service, just not great.
Stopped in at the end of our Central Texas vacation and found it to be absolutely excellent. It was pricey but we didn't hold back either. Dinner for 4 with an appetizer and a bottle of wine was 3 bills +. Typically not normal that I spend that kind of money on a meal but it may have been the best steak I've had in my life. Sides were awesome too. Nothing disappointed and Scott, the waiter, was absolutely superb. The décor was nice but not my style. If I'm ever back in Austin I will surely be reserving a table and dropping the cash. It' was excellent!
