Loved the food; it was all really great. Some of the staff was kind of rude, so that did ruin the experience a little...
Birthday dinner. Food was good. Have had better steaks for the price
Great steaks, great atmosphere, great service. Will definitely go back.
Great service and great food. A bit pricy but worth it.
Very consistent food with good service.
Very nice experience. Great location. Very good service. Fabulous food. The steak was cooked to perfection and the bone marrow appetizer was very tasty. Would highly recommend for a special occasion. Will be going back when in Austin again.
Went to celebrate my brother's 45th bday. The restaurant is nice, with modern decorations. Food was excellent, great portions on appetizers, sides and well made cocktails. A highlight of the night was Vince Young himself was in the restaurant and was gracious to chat and take a picture with us. The only complaint I have is that we felt rushed towards the end of dinner. It was clear our waiter wanted us to leave as it was already almost 11:00pm. I have never experienced this at a high end/steakhouse before. Otherwise, I highly recommend VY Steakhouse.
Great! All are very very good !!
Delicious food, including the filet mignon and the mushroom and asparagus sides. Other than the food, the experience was ordinary. Very quiet evening, lousy music too loud for venue, so-so service.
All four steaks were undercooked and the 2 orders of bone marrow were undercooked. This was the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had
Loved EVERYTHING! Even got to meet the owner ! Great place to bring in the new year ! 🎊
We spent hundreds of dollars on a New Years Eve dinner. The food was not worth it at all. It was bland and the dessert reminded me of airplane food. The fried quail appetizer was overly breaded and resembled chicken fingers off a kids menu. The steaks we ordered were cooked fine, but were flavorless and lacked seasoning. We ordered mashed potatoes and mac and cheese as sides. The mashed potatoes were absolutely flavorless. The mac and cheese was overly rich and full of flavor, the sauce was so thick and had the same consistency as glue, rendering it inedible.
This meal was not worth the price. I would not recommend Vince Young Steakhouse and I do not plan on ever going back.
We go to Vince Young every NYE and occasionally throughout the year, and are always pleased. For NYE this year they decided to do a prix fixe menu and everything on it was good. My only complaint is that we could not order appetizers early (for the table or at the bar). We were hungry when we arrived at the bar for a pre-dinner drink and couldn't get anything, not even bread. The meal, the bubbles, the wine, the service - all impeccable, but a little flexibility would have made the night perfect.
Food was OK....not five star....Service was very good....even for New Years Eave. Ambiance was average.
We had a great meal, only one of the steaks needed to be replaced. The NYE desserts were lack luster, but the steaks, sides and wine choices were amazing. We weren’t rushed and the servers were kind.
We had the quail and the Waygu burger. Both were outstanding! Perfect cocktails made by a super nice bartender. We could not be happier with our happy hour visit and hope to return soon.
Have eaten here before and had a great experience. But this time we had a small group of 5 on a night that they were not that busy. We dropped over a $1,000 on dinner and wine and the wait was extremely long for everything. Food took forever, felt the waiter was not very attentive and worked hard to upsale us on every wine selection. Disappointing for the price point and based on our prior experience.
I have been an avid fan of VY’s for year, pretty much since it was opened. I had great times here with friends and family but to be completely honest it has gone down over the years. The Staff has become really snarky to the point the manager seems to have to deal with any issue. Additionally the availability of items seems to be an issues as there are normally several items unavailable at any time. Lastly the price feels as if it just keeps going up and up. I visit several of the other finer dining steak restaurants downtown and around town and truly feel as though I’m get good good and service elsewhere.
My husband and I have only visited the restaurant once before last Saturday night. I was surprised that he wanted to go back because honestly the first visit for me was just ok, but not this time. We had the pleasure of being served by Kyle who was knowledgeable and polite. I loved the fact that he held eye contact when speaking to the both of us. Then Chris came and that was the cherry on top. We spoke about wines and appropriate pairings and he even introduced me to a new varietal that typically I would not have tried but his explanation and perseverance prevailed and I am better for it. Keep up the good work gentlemen and owners, please know that the both of these individuals represented your restaurant perfectly.
We had a great time. The staff was very friendly. The food was great, the atmosphere was elegant and lively and the desserts were yummy.
Brian our server was exceptional
Great atmosphere. 2 orders of ribeye steak...1 was perfect the other had a large fat vein and wasn’t cooked evenly with parts extremely rare (med rare ordered). Waiter did remove the price of the steak but chef came out and was a bit defensive on the variations in cuts of steaks.
We've enjoyed so many evenings having delicious food and wine. Definitely recommend getting a little dressed up and enjoying everything they have to offer.
Excellent food and superb wait staff. Both made the dining more enjoyable.
Excellent everything! The service was impeccable, the food, outstanding! Wonderful place to celebrate graduation!
Best steak EVER
The food and our server was excellent. The ambiance was nice, but there sure were a lot of paintings of longhorns. I felt the food was better quality than the interior of the restaurant portrays.
Not our finest meal at Vince Young's. Although out waiter was great, some of the "extra" staff, ie Salad delivery and manager were surely lacking. Some of the meal (Brussels sprouts and steak) was a bit over salty, all-in-all a nice dinner in a very nice restaurant.
Another great overall dinner experience at VY. We love the steaks, sides and drinks! Looking forward to our meal at VY!
We love Vince Young. We've been going there for years and go there every time we're in Austin, probably every three months or so. Great food, great service.
I dine here every time that I am in town. The Wagu ribeye (we all ordered them) is the best in town. Crab cake appetizer is excellent. Cheese platter to end the night was perfect.
Service was mediocre, food was okay, not great, just okay. Don’t think I will be going back.
The service can’t be beat. The atmosphere is magnificent. The food however is disappointing. Entirely too expensive for the flavor.
The food was excellent however the timing of the delivery of our dinner was way off - we sat there for a long period of time between appetizers and entrees - awkward at dessert too. Service is not what you would expect at a fine steakhouse - Water was not refilled - I judge the service if of any restaurant on how low my glass of water gets before it’s refilled - it directly correlates to attentiveness of servers. My glass was dry twice during dinner.
It was great overall!
Our service and steaks were amazing!! Worth every penny 😊
I called a party of 4 to come have dinner there the same night. They were in town for the weekend.
Worth the price! Steak was juicy, tender, extremely flavorful. If you are looking for a fantastic ambience with over the top delicious steak.....this is your spot! Highest recommendation!
Asked for the Cakebread Chardonnay on the menu which was 2015. They poured 2017. Same price. Very disappointing. The red however was phenomenal and wood. Was great.
