Vince Carter's Restaurant - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Our previous experiences were great at Vince Carter's. Made reservation through Open Table for 5 people. When we arrived, the hostess informed us that they were not honoring reservations or walk ins. They were too busy and not allowing anyone. We were very disappointed since we drove 30+ minutes to get there.
does not honor reservations on holidays . Booked by Open Table and received a confirmation number in return. Needless to say, do not use OPEN TABLE for holiday booking. Confirmation number means nothing !!!!!!
Had to wait an additional 35 minutes before getting a table.
First time dining here. Met family members for a dinner out. Arrived early and had a martini in the sports themed lounge (two lounges, one for piano lovers and one for sports fans). Martini made perfectly and bartender made bleu cheese olives at our request. Once seated, Danny, our waiter, was wonderful. Attentive to our needs and even while attending to a party of 12+ seated next to us and several other tables. We had crab bites very appetizer, great flavor, could have been a little warmer. Salads were good, but had too much iceberg lettuce for our liking. More green please! My brother ordered a T-bone and parents ordered filet mignon. Steaks were cooked to perfection and were juicy and delicious. Ordered dessert, strawberry shortcake with fried ice cream, delicious. My apple caramel "shot" was good, but too much whipped cream. Oh, and Happy Hour runs from 4-7, even on a Saturday! Overall, a great dining experience. Would definitely recommend and will return!
My wife wanted the chilean sea bass which was the special of the night and was told a few minutes later that the they had no more. There were only about 30 people in the restaurant at 7:00 pm. My son got the chicken flat bread which was over cooked. Very dry! We had the server brings some pesto sauce to try to cover the overcooked flatbread. I had the ribs which were very good.
As I have been told many times with this restaurant it is hit and miss by many of our neighbors and that is why they don't go back. This was our second visit since moving here. The first time there everything was perfect. Great experience! They need better consistency to keep people coming back. Have a great menu selection and beautiful restaurant but the food needs to come out right every night.
It was recommended to try Vince Carter's Restaurant but found the food to be quite pricey for what you are getting in return. Our waitress insisted I change my entrée order. I would have been more satisfied to stick with my original order after trying my husband's dish. The Lamb Chop entrée was over cooked to our order and was tasteless. I would like to add that I tried the spicy "slam dunk" crab balls and they were terrible. I found no crab what so ever in this appetizer. It had a bad after taste and was very disappointing. The Thai shrimp appetizer was so bland even the shrimp had no taste. There was a loud X-mas party very close by that tended to be annoying and the noise intruded on our dining experience. All in all I wouldn't be rushing to come back again. The value and the ambience is not there as I was hoping for. The overall bill was $200 for four adults for mediocre food. I would have preferred to stay at home and cooked dinner instead.
We've met friends at Vince Carter's numerous times for dinner. Last Sunday everything was fine for half hour then suddenly a band started playing and people were dancing. That's fine but we couldn't hear anyone at our table talking and it was impossible to give our order to the waitress. We asked to move to a quiter place where we could have dinner and conversation. Luckily we moved outside and had a very nice dinner and were able to hear each other. The dining room was where we always sat and always enjoyed the booth, room, food and conversation. What a shock to have a very loud band start playing and causing such a problem.
We found this gem by accident. Wow, superb dinner. The steaks were excellent, service impeccable, overall just terrific. The wine list is extensive and we enjoyed a terrific bottle of Caymus. I have ordered take out numerous times as well and everything has been on point. I had the pleasure of meeting Armando De Leora , the General Manager-he is beyond gracious and is just a class act. We will make this a regular stop. It is refreshing to see such a place here in Florida of the caliber of a NYC restaurant-which is where we live. I highly recommend this restaurant. They absolutely aim to please.
We dined there Labor Day weekend, Sunday night. It was almost empty, considering how big it is. It was interesting to see how mostly everything was on a semi upscale level but, when we asked for something to take our uneaten food in, the server brought us your typical gas station, flee market white plastic bag with the red thank you on it. Thats not a good look:((
First of all three in our party were treated to room temp. Soup.
Second the bread didn't come until half way through our soup and salads.
Had creamed spinach as my side and had it sent back to be reheated.
Finally I personally find it quite irratating when the waitress comes to the table and boxes the leftovers of those who are done eating while others are still finishing their meals.
My wife and I were expecting to have a great dining experience and according to all the reviews it was set to be just that.... It started of great. Prompt and good service but one the food arrived the problems came also... my wife order the filet mignon medium well and it came out rare... the took it back and brought it back out 5min later burned...Basically putting the same meat back to cook longer and messed it up... My glazed salmon was far from glazed and had no flavor.. poor experience ant Vince Carters
After visiting here several times a year since 2010 this was our first truly disappointing visit. Our part of four arrived at 5 PM while the restaurant was nearly empty. We ordered quickly but serving of our entrees was slow. First problem was one we encountered with every visit: margarine is served with bread; butter can be obtained only with repeated insistence. This needs to change immediately! My wife and I have eaten in restaurants all over the world and never encountered another restaurant that server margarine as standard fare. Chintzy.
My wife and I both ordered their best steak 8 ounce filet mignon. Both our steaks arrived overcooked. Our server volunteered to return them for new ones but we declined because we didn't want to further delay our guest whose meals were fine. I simply asked our server to feed back this info to management. Another unsettling observation was the fact we didn't see one familiar face from our previous visit(s). Hight employee turnover is not a good omen for a fine dining restaurant.
My wife hopes they just had a bad day so we'll return one more time to see if we receive a fine dining experience. We will take our own butter to avoid having to beg for it.
I hope my review is taken constructively. We hope to enjoy Vince Carter's for years to come. Key word: ENJOY.
Great food with wonderful, caring service in a beautiful atmosphere. The manager came by twice to
check on us and our waitress was very attentive.
Everyone in our party of four loved their food. Menu has lots of choices from interesting entrees
to sandwiches and burgers.
The wine list was extensive and even the house wines were a very nice quality.
All in all this was a great dining experience which I would highly recommend whether you are looking for a full meal or just appetizers or burgers.
There is also a cozy piano bar and lounge and a huge sports bar.
The dining room is very nicely placed overlooking the small lake with black swan and fountains which operate to an assortment of displays - and our booth was at one of those windows.
The menu was widely varied and the specials offered an extra set of good choices.
My mahi bruschetta special was outstanding: large portion of well grilled fish, wonderful glaze and bruschetta and very good rice. Price was a good value as well.
Wine list had good brand choices - a tad pricey by the glass.
The big problem: despite an almost empty dining room (maybe four active tables, the two different servers were very slow between visits. The cause was a pharmaceutical dinner that was extremely well attended - close to 40 - which means that without proper staff planning, a HARD event to serve with folks who also serve tables elsewhere.
Nice place to go and have been there 10 times in past 2 years! Food and service was good. But Mother's Day was not so good! Piano player was so loud you couldn't have a normal conversation with seniors who are hard of hearing. Next their was a booth where the people were allowing a 3 year old to drink beer and was tipsie. I brought this the the managers attention and he dismissed it with with its there child! So, because of his aditude we will spend our money else where and tell everyone we can how the place is managed. Find a new manager and we will be back!
first time there but was recommended by a friend. i can't say enough. everything was absolutely perfect. our server was attentive without being over bearing.. my husband and i want to share a bunch of different things so they split everything for us... without an extra fee (which we don't mind). the food was absolutely delicious. had the eggplant flatbread (best ever) a salad (very large) and the special fish Halibut. the piece of fish was very nice and it was the best we ever had at a restaurant. what can i say.. we loved it. these people know how to do it.
