We had a lovely dinner at Vinaigrette. It was a Friday night date night two weeks in a row at this restaurant. We both had our favorite salads; the beet goes on and the salacho. We also each had a glass of the Malbec to accompany our salads. The only issue was it seemed like they needed to really rinse the greens better; we tasted crunchy something like dirt. Overall, the ambiance was quiet.
The two salads were generous and filling. The cup of soup was delicious. The service was a bit peremptory considering the house was mostly empty. Of course, you never know why--we probably did not look like heavy tippers. The fact I had carefully made a reservation did not seem to be accounted for, but still no problem being seated--and it was kept warm!
Vinaigrette's salads are innovative, healthy and very tasty. It is consistently excellent restaurant.
The food was excellent. The service was good. But the seating on the picnic benches was not what I reserved for this wine tasting event. While there was some effort to make this right, the end result was disappointing. So if you have seating issues, beware. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Fe and we don't want to take it off our list of go to places . The Albuquerque location does not have the same seating issues. Does Austin? Why not fix Santa Fe???
I absolutely love and love even more salads and I went back a 2nd night to have a duck confit salad that I had seen on the menu. All the salads are creative with suggestions for meat if you wish to add it to a salad and will add any other ingredients for a small charge. Service good but kind of mixed but salads were awesome and my friend agreed and she is a little picky. Had everything from savory to sweet and the salad with duck confit was great.
It is a little hard to find so a "dry run" during daylight is recommended or just look for the dry cleaners sign and turn in there and go up to the restaurant. Limited parking unless you park in the dry cleaners lot in the evening.
Highly recommend for prices which ran around $15/salad.
Also have a Hibiscus tea which is decaf for those of use that like caffeine but not in the evening hours.
The only ways Vinaigrette could improve regards the lighting. It was so dim inside at dinnertime that I needed to use a cell phone to read the menu.
Loved everything about the meal, though. Super fresh, creative combinations, and one of the best pieces of carrot cake I've ever tasted.
Great service, excellent food! Love this place! Can’t wait to come back!!
I’ve eaten at The Vinaigrette in ABQ many times so was excited to stop here on my way to Ojo Caliente. Sadly, our server (Jack) was in a grumpy, bad mood. Grunted more than spoke. One of our party asked if he was having a bad day and he didn’t respond. His way of being ruined the mood. Good food as always but not so good that’s it worth putting up with a bad attitude.
Loved the salad, wine, and carrot cake! Our ages ranged from 40 to 85 and we all enjoyed our meals. Would definitely recommend.
Nice people, but 3 lonely scallops for $8 as a side? Rather institutional feeling.
Great outdoor patio or inside dining for lunch or dinner Salads of all types to suit any mood or desire.
Everything, with the exception of the carrot cake, was less than great. Wine was served warm, tuna was not super fresh, and the number of scallops was disappointing. The experience overall was mediocre. I really doubt we will return.
Excellent as always: fresh and generous portions. Staff is happy to accommodate vegetarian/vegan modifications
I have been coming to Vinaigrette frequently for 4 years. During that time
the quality of the offerings and availability of items from the menu have
declined. No bread (all out), warm table water, desert availability sparse,
wine list expensive by the glass and small portions, the available wine
often not available from the menu. Inside the noise is very very high;
outside delightful venue. I no longer dine there in the winter due to the
noise level. I would recommend with cautions.
Enjoyably casual dog friendly
Small but good wine list
Unfortunately, this visit did not live up to previous ones. My Cesar salad was a mix of sad looking romaine and a small piece of chicken. My date's steak on his Cesar had to be replaced with a less dried out one. They did apologize and comped us his steak and two very refreshing cucumber drinks.
Vinaigrette is definitely a favorite for our family - my daughter likes to come to Vinaigrette for special occasions- so we went for her birthday!
Unpretentious but imaginative salads sensibly priced in a cozy outdoor patio. For us: once a year but every year during our annual week in Santa Fe .
We had been in SF for a couple of days and were in the mood for something a little different for an evening meal. My wife had mushroom soup and kale and black bean nachos. The shared soup was very good and she said the nachos were delicious, but kale on nachos? I had an absolutely delicious frisee with lardons, duck confit and a poached egg. A wonderful combination. Carrot cake and lemon cheesecake for desert. If your looking for a break from Mexican and Italian food give this place a try.
So happy someone gave me this recommendation! The salads are amazing - so much so we went back a second time.
Very disappointing. I have eaten here since it opened and have loved it. However, this time my Greek salad had 2 olives and virtually no feta. The cucumber and the tomatoes were tasteless. It came with 4 very small shrimp that were so over cooked they were like rubber. Also for those of us that are local to Santa Fe and have supported the restaurant they need to change up and add some new dishes.
Beautiful outdoor patio and good food. Wish the chairs were more comfortable .
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THEIR SALADS!!!! GREAT DESSERTS, TOO!
Great to have a super healthy delicious dinner upon arriving in Santa Fe after 9 hrs traveling. Our B&B recommended it and it is a real winner. We will be back whenever we are in the area.
Beautiful salads, good value, tasty cocktails, friendly service
A neighborhood restaurant that we walk to and really enjoy the food & service.
Food was very good. Service was basic and felt like our server was overtaxed. Quality of the wine list has deteriorated considerably. Place was way too noisy and it impacted our enjoyment.
This was my second visit to Vinaigrette. I had the Asian chopped salad with grilled tofu added. It was extremely fresh and flavorful. I also has dessert this time---homemade apple pie with vanilla ice cream (which was homemade, too!). Delicious!
My family had a beautiful evening at Vinaigrette. The staff was friendly and helpful with explaining the menu to us and getting a high chair and sippy cup for our daughter. Everything we ate was incredibly delicious. We will definitely be back!
Was handed menus and pointed to a table to seat ourselves then waited for over 15 minutes to see a waiter or even get water. Another 15 to order. The place was only about half full.
The service people were kind but we had to chase them down to get drinks and other things, so made the experience a lot more work than we would have preferred.
Outstanding, particularly for outside/patio dining. Inside it quickly gets very noisy when 1/2 or more full.
Easy to make a reservation, or not usually necessary. Interesting salad creations and superb dressings. The mushroom soup is about the best I have ever tasted.
Hibiscus tea awfully good too.
A neighborhood place that we go to very often as the food is very good and with reasonable prices. I really like their Cobb salad!
This is always a great option for a healthy meal. I never get tired of the Omega Salad with the trout. It's a filling meal that you never have to feel guilty about. The wine list covers the bases.
Seating in the outdoor area is a wonderful place for a summer meal. Parking can be a problem. Give yourself some extra time to find a spot during the summer season.
This place is cool! Certainly not fancy but it has a nice vibe and the salads are truly excellent. My companion and I each had one of their large salads with protein (tuna for 1 and shrimp for the other) added and we were both extremely satisfied. Wine list is small but interesting. So an excellent choice for a casual meal.
This is a terrific restaurant. We were visiting and came back three times! Fresh, healthy and interesting menu. Great coffee and apple pie! The staff are very hardworking and super friendly.
A real treat with variety built around exceptional salads though much much more. Satisfying to the palette and to the eye with attentive service. Remember to order the fruit pie a la mode. We returned 3 days in a row!
A neighborhood find; food is always very good and the prices are very reasonable.
One of my favorite restaurants in Santa Fe. Every salad and sandwich is delicious. The carrot cake is the best I've ever eaten. Wonderful interior environment and the outdoor patio is very charming too.
The restaurant had to open late because of a nearby bomb threat. But they expedited our service, prepared fresh and delicious entrees and stayed on top of the service in order to help us stay on schedule for a play we were attending that evening. The menu is diverse and all the food is fresh and arrives in a very appealing presentation. We highly recommend this restaurant.
