Beautiful evening spent at Vin Santo on February 18. They were still decorated for Valentine's Day. We were a party of four out for the evening and trying out a new for us restaurant. It was lovely. Food was delicious. Service was great. Highly recommend.

Great service from Umberto, stuffed salmon and branzino were particularly good. Love the French press coffee after the meal

Service was great and the food is amazing. So nice to see different types of food other than the standard Italian fare. The waiter's recommendation for a wine was spot-on delicious. We probably overspent our time but were never rushed. All in all an awesome experience.

My third time here, and this place continues to exceed my expectation of what a beautiful date night restaurant should be.
The food is amazing, the servers are great, and the wine pairing is spot on. Such a romantic atmosphere, and I'm so thankful to have found this gem!

Clearly this is a Willow Glen classic dining spot but the food was boring but generally well-prepared. Our server wasn't trying to impress anyone. She did not have helpful or confident suggestions or opinions regarding the menu. My wife and I each had the gelato for dessert. Her portion was about 50% larger than mine but had the incorrect combination of flavors.

This is by far the best 🇮🇹restaurant I've been to in San Jose. Atmosphere is great, service excellence, and the food is authentic, and is really good. 10 ⭐ spot.

Open table reservation honored immediately. Our server was delightful.
I started with a grilled Romain salad. Delish! Two very lark full lettuce stalks were covered in goodies like palm hearts etc. dressing was great. Lettuce cold and crunchy.
My main dish was spaghetti carbonara with crispy pork belly. Outstanding. It was Wednesday night so we didn’t have to pay corkage for the win.e we brought. Tuesday’s you get 50% off the restaurant bottles.

There was entertainment and the place was a bit noisy but food and service were worth it.

Our experience was very good, our server was excellent. We had a nine year old with us and the server brought him a very special lemonade decorated with fruit & umbrella- definitely
made him happy! Each of us enjoyed the dinner thoroughly.

Great service, fun place, wine appetizers and salad were excellent. I ordered the boar and it was a bit too heavy. I should have known, after all it WAS boar. Next time I'll go for lighter Italian fare.

All over the place. We had two bussers, two waiters, two hostesses, a maitre d/manager and more, all constantly stop by. Very attentive to our satisfaction. No-one refilled water. Some of our plates were cleared. Waitress spilled wine on the table. Wine knowledge of servers was lacking as was polish for an expensive restaurant. Joker waitress said she sucked at bottle service after we asked for a recommendation. Funny but lacked refinement. Wine was $58 for a middle of the road bottle. 2 Entrees, 2 apps + Service was just under $200 for two diners = expensive.

Octopus and Potatoes Dish - 2/lacked taste, freshness and contrast. Octopus and potatoes were both very mushy and indistinguishable in mouth. Very bland dish. Silly Orchid Flower garnish.
Caprese Burrata Salad - 4/Delicious, Tomatoes were great for this time of year. Olives were a nice touch. Basil, Balsamic, Seasoning all great. Presentation was rustic. Orchid Flowers on Italian food?
Polenta and Braised Shortribs - 4/Gargantuan serving. Very good taste. Beef could have been braised a bit more. Silly Orchid Flower again.
Tagliatelle and Pork Flat Iron Steak - 4/Huge portion. Pasta was cooked and sauced nicely. Pork was flavorful. Fig Balsamic was nice on top but a bit too sweet when mixed with the pesto sauce. Again with the orchid flower, is this a Hawaiian restaurant?

I would qualify this restaurant as expensive for a neighborhood Italian place with informal service and a limited Italian wine list.

We liked the caprese and entrees. The wine that we randomly picked was excellent. The octopus dish is not something I would recommend. Service was scattered, informal and slightly intrusive. Ambience was nice and the hosts/management/service were friendly and engaging.

We would return and just order entrees and wine.

Wonderful food and service at Vin Santo last Saturday night! Their “create your own” tasting menu lets you choose a salad/appetizer, main entree and dessert for $42. Our entire group of 4 went with the option, and dined on spectacular homemade gnocci, ravioli and spaghetti and meatballs, with amazing salads and desserts to start and finish! We’ll definitely be back.
