Had a delightful Anniversary dinner at Vin Santo's last night. They placed us in a quiet local in the restaurant, had wonderfully tasty seafood pasta, great service and even a glass of Prosecco on the house. It was 47 great years together and Vin Santo and our friends made it a night to remember. Thanks !
Excellent varitey on menu. Pleasant atmosphere. Wait staff excellent.
Love this restaurant. Service/food/ambience is good for either a date or a family dinner
Enjoyed our evening, nice table and service was great
The service was very good. The chef's special dish featuring the braised boar was incredible. My wife really enjoyed the Branzino. The owners truly care about delivering the best experience and cuisine possible.
Great date night with the hubby. Food wine and service were excellent. The atmosphere and ambiance was great
Went on a Sunday night and they were out of a lot of food.
1) The ravioli was hard when it was requested to be soft due to customer’s dental issues. Was also tasteless when it was supposed to be sweet.
2) The meatballs were so over cooked and hard that they could have bounced off the floor.
Food not returned due to time constraints. Will not recommend this restaurant.
Food was great service was extra nice I love it
The waiter messed up on one of the entres & brought ravioli instead of Branzino fish. Then it took 30" to get the fish which was supposed to be fileted & still had bones in it so my friend didn't even eat it. It was a disappointment. They didn't even comp the fish. The rest of our meals & appetizers were good.
Great musician was playing at BYOB Wednesday’s.
Birthday dinner. Food was very dry and overcooked.
Always good. Will be back on Wednesday for their free corkage night.
They have great ambiance and a prime location. Katie was a wonderful server. My muscles in my seafood dish were not fresh. On the fence about trying the restaurant again but I’d probably give them another chance because the restaurant is so cute.
Haven’t been let down here at all.
It is such a treat to enjoy their local boar. It did not disappoint.
Please was Awesome! Service the Best ! Great Job! Thank You! Keep up the Great Work!
Everything was great as usual. The food is always wonderful and the service is good.
Cute neighborhood spot in downtown Willow Glen. Waitress was very friendly and always smiling and pleasant to all of her guests. We had a smashed lemonade which sounded better than it was, but maybe we were expecting a different taste. It wasn’t bad but not super impressive. We also ordered the arancini and the nice was not cooked all the way and was starchy. The sauce was good. The warm bread was really good. We also ordered the risotto and it was just okay. The cioppino was disappointing. It was a really thin broth, not the usual tomato based scoop up with bread type and had a more sour taste, like an Asian soup. Fortunately we had an Opentable coupon that paid for some of the dinner. We might give it a second chance and try something else to support the local community
Unique dishes that are probably cooked to order and very good food and service. Also in my neighborhood.
Excellent food and service as always! We love this local gem!!
Food wasn't great. Service is good.
We were really looking forward to a nice Italian dinner. The menu looked great! We ordered a cabernet and it came to us warm and slightly syrupy. The hot day did not do well for wherever wine is stored. The salads were extremely expensive. Burrata and tomatoes for $17 had to be sent back because the tomatoes were literally underripe and hard with no flavor. Considering it is July it was surprising. The pasta was homemade and while the fettucine and pork special was delicious, the ravioli was underwhelming. The pasta was very al dente and very thin. The brown butter sauce was more of a melted butter and very heavy. Prices for the food rival oldtown Saratoga and Los Gatos without the quality. The excuse about the tomato salad was that the suppliers were not "supplying" good tomatoes. Really? In Summer? ???
Food was amazing and service was great! We found a new favorite restaurant. We will defiantly be back.
The service and food was great as always. It has a very warm and inviting feel to it.The cooking outdoes my Italian mother's cooking.
Love the food here!!! So much flavor and sooooo yummy! Great service loved our waiter. One of our favorite restaurants
This place is great! The food is delicious. We definitely plan to come back.
Our favorite Italian restaurant in south bay. Especially love the wild boar pasta. The homemade gelato is the best. The pastas are superb. Wine selection both Italian and California is fits the wonderful food.
On my recent visit i ordered the fettuccine and braised boar. It really wasn't prepared well at all. The pasta was very thin and quite watery. Almost as if it weren't drained well or mixed with a small amount of sauce or cheese. The braised boar had very little meat in it and a whole lot of mushrooms. In a braised sauce its hard to tell the difference until its in your mouth. I thought possibly my expectations were too high. Then I visited another Italian restaurant in Mt View and ordered the same dish. The pasta was thicker, had very good seasoning and a healthy amount of braised boar in a rich creamy sauce. No mushrooms in the dish at all. Vin Santo needs to up their quality game.
Service was excellent. Staff was very nice and charming. Groupon deal is a great one. They really hook u up. Huge selection on all courses. Everything was delicious. Only complaint I have is one of our appetizers came out cold, and both our pastas were over cooked. A little too soft for my preference. I prefer al dente. However, the flavors were delicious. And the homemade bread is to die for. Doesn’t even need butter! Would definitely come back.
Amazing food and service with Umberto's authentic recipes....best Italian food in San Jose by a large margin!
Another wonderful evening!
This is our “Go To” when we go out...it feels like home and a splurge all at once!
Always delicious and always wonderful!
We will keep going back!
Vin Santo is our go to place for a nice dinner out. Never disappoints.
Our waitress was very attentive but tended to want to rush us through our dinner. She could have slowed the pace down a bit. Otherwise the food/wine was excellent as usual.
Good...not great. Homemade pasta ravioli was NOT good, was hard. May have been homemade a week or more ago, possibly frozen, definitely NOT good when we got it. I don’t need to bad mouth this restaurant, strongest statement I can make is we won’t be back ever!!!
Food was amazing as always
Thank you Char!
Usually the Pear Ravioli is amazing! But this time, it was undercooked. AC was not working and was uncomfortable hot. For $100 meal between 2 of us, could have spent it at a better location.
Loved the Menu - Not a bad item on the menu and great Specials! Go on Tuseday for 1/2 price bottles of wine!
One of the best italian dinners I have had in the San Jose area! We will be back!
