We were celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary with our daughter and spouse. The location on the top floor of a recycled building was fantastic. The service was spectacular, the food was magnificent, and the wine was superb. We are definitely going back.
We had a great time. The menu is such that there was an option for everyone. This was a business group of nine and they did a great job of accommodating some last minute additions. Look forward to going back
The girls and I had a wonderful night out starting with dinner and drinks at Vin de Set! So much fun with delicious treats!!!
The food was amazing and the service was great! We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back!
Wonderful food and great atmosphere. Love the exposed brick. Excellent service.
Dinner after seeing Hamlet! Everything was perfect!
Restaurant Missed note on reservation that it was barbs bday.
Have not enjoyed the food either time I’ve been there recently. My prime rib sandwich was mainly gristle
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Vin de Set on Saturday, April 14. We were warmly greeted. The service was attentive. All of the food was delicious and nicely presented. The only "downside" was trying to make the reservation thru Open Table which "defaulted" or "jumped" to Friday, April 13 and kept trying to book the reservation for 7 PM. I had to call the restaurant and speak to the hostess to get the reservation corrected but I again found the use of Open Table to be a hassle. I would much prefer to deal directly with a real person at the restaurant rather than "wrestling" with the Open Table menu or botched programming. We will definitely be returning for future meals at Vin de Set but hopefully we will be able to make reservations directly with the restaurant. I am NOT impressed with Open Table. My wife and I were impressed as we have been in the past with Vin de Set. A Plus.
I have been to Vin De Set several times, unfortunately for a large party (8) I would not recommend. they put all the larger parties in a relatively small room with a low ceiling resulting in a very loud and hard to hear evening. When asked to consider a different location to move our group so that we could talk as a group, we were told no and not possible. The evening we were there, was the crab/shrimp boil. It was very unfortunate even with a 6:30 PM reservation, they had issues with the crab, and not until 8:00 or so were we able to get crab.
We had several out of town guests, we were celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary and it was less than a positive experience. While they could not address the noise issue and they did try to address the crab situation as best they could, they did comp one bottle of wine.
I would not use Vin De Set for a party over 6 unless you want to shout all evening.
The food was delicious, beautiful atmosphere, and the service was excellent. However, the noise was so loud that we couldn't talk or hear each other at our table. The noise made the experience unpleasant for my group, and we left the restaurant so we could talk elsewhere and be able to hear each other. We would not return if we wanted to share a quiet evening with others.
Excellent food but a bit pricey. Very nice setting
When I tell you that EVERYTHING was GOOD! We all enjoyed our food, from the salad to entree. The music playing, the fireplace and food made whatever we paid well worth every penny!
The food was superb! The service was excellent; we had a most attentive server. I eat here every time I am celebrating a special person.
The manager was a dream. He was personable and checked on every one. A perfect addition. My only issue was my food. It wasn't the best I've had at Vin de Set. My shrimp was slimy, prime rib not the caliber of greatness we are used to here but the bacon was still awesome, as was our service experience.
Fabulous. We loved all of it. Would highly recommend
After a long day of shopping and driving we were glad to get here for dinner. Absolutely wonderful with great food and service.
Loved every moment. Will make this a returnable restaurant not to be missed.
Food was good, but not great (the maple cheesecake, however, was to die for!) and overpriced. We knew the food would be pricey before we went there, so that was not a shock, but the tab for alcohol was extreme. Have drinks before or after somewhere else. The view of the top of The Arch is not worth paying that much extra.
I wouldn’t go unless the roof is open and you can get a seat outside
The pork tenderloin was AMAZING! They have an excellent wine list!
The food is always amazing; lovely variety -- smoked salmon and capers; crepes; omelets; sole, etc. Friendly service all around. So good!
This is the second time I have taken my daughter for her birthday brunch. We both love the rooftop seating (which we got to do this time!). The buffet has nothing but high quality, creative dishes. The dessert buffet always has perfect creme brulee, although my daughter swore by the gooey butter cake. Service is attentive but not intrusive. And the maitre d' was so welcoming!
Great service and food!
Great food, great service. Can't wait to come back.
We’ve been dining at Vin de set many times now and enjoy bringing friends and family to the brunch on Sundays. I’m not sure if tonight was an off night but it was awful. The house salad dressing was disgusting, tastes like you were eating plain olive oil, when I asked the Busser what it was he said he didn’t know. Your suppose to train your staff to know these things. Then my food came out which was the Pork chop, I didn’t know I ordered pork chop soup, it was drenched in this salty brown sauce. I don’t remember it being that way. I had asked our waitress prior to ordering if you guys served any chicken entrees cause there was none on the menu again she had no clue. I’m hoping this was just an off night because if it’s not I’m sorry but we won’t be coming back.
Authentic French cuisine. Beautifully prepared with surprisingly large portions. Excellent service and attention and knowledge of the menu items from our wonderful server, Charles. Highly recommend.
Great place, food always excellent. Great date spot with my wife!
Vin de Set has been one of our favorites for a long time. The Sunday brunch for the most part I highly recommend. The omelet station is very good with plenty of choices. There are a large selection of deserts and a good bloody Mary bar to add your own extras. The staff is very good.
The only disappointment was the carving station which until this trip was fine.
Great ambiance and atmosphere
We were in for my daughter's birthday and had a lovely time. We were a larger party and Charles our waiter was outstanding. It is not an inexpensive dinner, but we love going for special occasions. Food is always delicious, portions are not American sized, so you won't roll out.
Very enjoyable meal. Good quality french-inspired food. Value oriented fixed price meal (three or four courses). Good selection of wines by the glass. Romantic atmosphere.
Great handmade seasonal cocktails, great variety of appetizers; varied seasonal menu
Excellent service from the initial greeting to the bar, to the support staff to the main waiter. Loved the food quality and portions. Will look forward to returning.
The late night happy hour was great! Food was good! Ambiance was great! Me and my husband have eaten here in the warm months, the outdoor dining is great as well.
We started with the baked brie, which was phenomenal! After that, everything was decent, but not great. The main disappointment was that we were in a back room that didn't feel as nice, felt kind of like an afterthought / add-on, and the service wasn't super attentive as it got later into the night, when we were the only ones left in that room (at only 9:30pm!!).
Food was decent, but I don't see a need to head back, and I'd bet St. Louis has better French food than this.
I really wanted to like this restaurant more, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case. I think it’s a very loose interpretation of French food! The true highlight of the meal was the butternut squash crepes!! They were delicious!! The smoked tomato soup was ok, although only lukewarm when it was served. The crab beignets were ok, but nothing spectacular. Several things were under seasoned, and needed salt. If you go, and only get the crepes, and wine, it would be worth it!
Food was excellent and our waiter (Charles) was top notch.
Excellent French cuisine!
Great atmosphere and service.
Delightful creme brulie always as the finish.
Love this mid-town location. Even if the weather doesn't permit outdoor dining on the beautiful city-view deck, the interior ambience is very inviting, yet contemporary. I shared the beef and shrimp crepes for lunch with a friend. They were both delicious, with tasty garnishes. Also had the tomato bisque and French onion soups, which were both very good. Waiter from French Caribbean was very good! Will return.
We celebrated our 10-year anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make our experience memorable, including a card signed by the staff. Very professional and friendly staff, especially our waitress and the maitre d’. The food was excellent (as always). We love the unique cuisine and ambiance.
