With Old World context in mind, we have cultivated Vin Antico's wine list to complement our Farm to Table inspired cuisine artfully. With considerable attention to sourcing small, artisan producer wines from site-specific vineyards or merit throughout the West Coast and Europe.
Surrounded by intimate, beautiful, antique brick building, the kitchen is open to the dining room, and chef's counter seating is also available. Full Bar.

The food was outstanding with service to match.
We were happy with both the food and the service. As there were only about 6 of us in the restaurant it was very quiet.
We were not served any bread. It seemed very very expensive at $194.00 for 3 people. We did have a glass of wine each and shared dessert. Food was excellent.
The menu is not as “Italian” as it used to be but the food is still delicious. The vegetable risotto was outstanding. The steak in steak frites could have used a bit more salt. The service was efficient and not hovering. One of my favorite spots in San Rafael.
We had a very nice dinner at Vin Antico after an exhausting day of caring for elders. We started with the cheese plate and followed with the vegetable risotto for one, the amazing hamburger for another and the fish stew which hubby declared “excellent”! Vin Antico was a great place to unwind, chat and share a meal. We will be back.
Great place to take a date and relax or a client to close business. Enjoy great service, fantastic food in a pleasant environment.
Overall, Vin Antico is a very fine place, and warrants repeat visits. Interesting variety of antipasti, but fewer entrees and fewer again pastas (this last is a disappointment). The wine selection is on the small side, but the variety offers a good sampling with good value. Ambience is comfortable and it's not noisy (particularly by SF area's atrocious standards), though the bar can occasionally host loud, inconsiderate boors. All of the entrees rate highly for ingredients, preparation, flavor, and presentation. Service is courteous and accommodating, not at all overbearing. And if you are a pizza fan, you must have the San Marzano pizza. This may be the best pizza around, evocative of the treasure of Napoli. Not your typical pig-out toppings served on a heavy, doughy, chewy crust, but, rather, a truly thin-crust pizza with just the right amount of mascarpone, tomato and arugula topping it. You know, *Neapolitan* pizza. Each is small, but easily a hearty antipasto for one with an appetite, or for two as a shared antipasto. Vin Antico has earned the right to be one's modest, reliable, high-value, go-to Italian restaurant.
We've eaten here quite a bit but this last time we felt rushed. Appetizer, and salad were brought together and entree followed before we were through with our salad.
Always great food and great fun....love going to Vin Antico....
Everything about our experience there was fantastic. Cant wait to go back.
Excellent filet mignon. Friendly service. Quieter than most restaurants in Marin.
Lovely atmosphere to dine in ! Good ambience and good food!
Fabulous cozy wonderful wait staff delicious food!!!
The food and service are always great. I love going for lunch regularly..
Vin Antico is a real gem. It's a small restaurant with probably no more than 20 tables. The food is prepared in the same room but behind the bar. The hostess, Kelly, is enthusiastic, polite, and knowledgable. The wait staff does an excellent job.
The food selection is good and the food is delicious. The wine list is extensive and should have something for everyone. The lower-priced wines are excellent.
The ambience and intimacy of the setting distinguishes Vin Antico from the other excellent Italian restaurants in San Rafael. Vin Antico doesn't really compete with those restaurants; rather it offers a different and wonderful dining experience.
A perfect dining experience! The hostess asked if we were celebrating and upon discovering an anniversary brought two glasses of bubbly over gratis! The Caesar salad which we split was ample, NY steaks were done to perfection and chocolate mousse-like dessert delicious. We can’t wait to return!
Food was good. Not great. And they seem to think they can charge top prices. However the atmosphere is nice and food is fresh.
The owner/host lady is very kind and attentive. I would recommend this place to all my friends.
Lovely atmosphere, great service and delicious food.
First time at Vin. Was fun and lively on a Saturday night. The hostess and wait staff we great. And the food was delicious.
Great food, liked the chef's new offerings. The kale salad is excellent, the dinner special cioppino seafood stew with bread was very nice. Highly recommend!
Vin Antico is a lovely, intimate restaurant/bar. The manager Kelly is truly a delight. All the staff there is to be commended. Can’t wait to go back!
Food was delicious!
The crispy kale with lemon and Parmesan cheese is heartily recommended. I like the wines by the glass and half-glass as size options. Great place!
Very good all around. Service was great and timely. Food excellent
Another nice date night at Vin Antico. The food was delicious and the service quick and unobtrusive. We will be back
Delicious food and great service!
Had a family dinner last week: everything was very tasty and fresh. I will definitely go back from the seafood stew, it was delicious! decent wine selection but they ran out of Pinot Noir. Very flavorful butterleaf salad, my wife raved about the Artic Char. Will go again!
We came hungry and really indulged--started with the delicious mussels, shared a salad, each had an entree AND dessert. Started with cocktails and each had a glass of wine with the meal. Not inexpensive but really good service and excellent food. This place never disappoints.
Always great food and great service. Relaxing atmosphere
The meal was very good but we told the waiter we had to go to a movie and the entree took a little too long
Still love their crispy kale and delicious brussels sprouts. Not a lot of vegetarian entrees, but small plates and salads are very good.
Food was not exceptional and overpriced. Service was fabulous until we had to return a soggy undercooked pizza and as the final part of our meal, we had to wait 24 minutes for it to be replaced. They did remove it from the bill, but that total gap in service ruined our meal. The second pizza was better cooked but still soggy in the center.
We were very disappointed in our experience at Vin antico. There were several things that were unavailable but we're on the menu Including one of the five desserts and no espresso. The Chicota replayed had one kind of meat on it and a tiny bit of pate . The hamburger came and it was well done when it was ordered medium rare end it took some time to clear the table. We would not go back there nor will I recommend it to anyone else
Food was great. Service, not so much. There was only one waiter and it had seemed like we were waiting 45 minutes to get caesar salads which should not take 45 minutes to make. Other than that, the food was delicious.
The food was delicious!
We made a reservation over a week in advance for Christmas Eve and got all dressed up for a nice dinner out for the holiday. It was clear they had over booked or taken walk ins assuming some reservations wouldnt show up as the hostess had to run back and talk to a manager when we arrived on time for our reservation. We ended up sat at a table between the kitchen, bathroom and hostess table with people coming in and out of the bathroom making comments on our table and the kitchen door constantly swinging open. The food was good and the area where everyone else was sat seemed nice and cheery, but this was a really unfortunate situation and I am not planning to return. We would have been much happier to be offered a drink at the bar while we waited 5 or 10 minutes for a reasonable table to open up.
Loved our waitress...she was amazing and the seafood stew will bring me back sooner than later!!!
the food was good, but they were out of Arctic Char, Halibut, bacon cheeseburger and 1 pork chop left. This was a Saturday night at 8? this left flank steak, new York steak, fish stew and chicken for entrees.
