We went to Villagio to celebrate New Year's Eve. The dinner was wonderful! The fire roasted lobster tails were prepared perfectly. Because it was New Year's Eve, and even at our early reservation of 6:30 p.m. the place was very busy and staff were staying busy, so service was not as attentive as it has been at other times when we have eaten there. However, the food was excellent, they have a good selection of wines and we did not feel we were being rushed to finish our dinner.
We had New Year's Eve dinner at Villagio's this year. At first I was disappointed as it was a Fixed Menu. We had reviewed the Menu on the website all the way down on our way from Atlanta. The options were plenty on the Fixed Menu so it turned out OK. The food was excellent. We were not rushed at all. The best part of experience was our Waitress, Kristie. She was wonderful and appreciated. We give it two thumbs up. The food, table, service was above par for a New Years Eve dinner, in our estimation anyway. The Oysters were very nice, Rock Lobster Tails were grilled perfectly and the bone in ribeye was cooked perfectly to my request for 125 degrees. Am always impressed with a kitchen that cooks to Temperature versus the Rare, Med Rare type designations because that always leaves things to interpretation.
Excellent food and service. And great ambience. They were very busy but we were seated and ordered promptly, and our food came quickly. The crab bruschetta as an appetizer was fantastic. The lamb chops and beef short ribs were wonderful. Also a good wine list.
Very good service and ambiance but food and drinks were disappointing. Wahoo special was overcooked and dry. I ordered it medium, but it came well done. Martini was watered down. Was charged $12.50 for a call brand but might as well have gotten the house brand.
We went to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The atmosphere was great as usual. The server was friendly, but not really on her game. We ordered drinks, then appetizers/salads. A little later, we ordered our entrees. We weren’t nearly halfway finished our salads and appetizers when the entrees came out. We felt really rushed and the restaurant was not even full. Most of what we ordered was good as usual, except the crab bruschetta was just a pile of cold crab on top of a warm tomato on toast; lacked seasoning/flavor. Two in our party ordered the Seafood pasta, which had such a thick sauce, was difficult to eat. We’ve been to Villagio many times and have to say we were quite disappointed with this experience.
Sat for 10 min before a server came by. No interduction. No one asked what brought us since it was very obviously we were not from the area. Took 3 visit from the server and us asking what her name was before she perked up but only for that conversation. Only other time patty was excited about coming to the table was when she dropped off the bill.
Food was good, tasty, creative but with the service the way it was not sure if I will return. We are here for a 13 days
We had a 7pm reservation on open table. We were told because we did not specify that we wanted a booth or window seat we were sat at this awkward high top by the waiter service area. My husband and I choose to ignore it after being told many times there was no other available seats for them to reseat us at. The waitress was super sweet and the food was great. I do think I remember reading that well house wines were $4.50 and I was charged $6 per glass. In general, lessons learned. Make sure to specify that you don’t want an awkward high top in the comments of your open table reservation.
I had high expectations due to the reviews. I ordered a filet that came out rather quick. However the mashed potatoes were cold and the steak was under done. The cheese and meat plate had two cheese that were pretty small for $18 and nothing exciting. We were not even told what was on it. It turned out to be a Gouda ( smoked) and a pineapple cheese (which was decent). My wife like her salad. They are known i guess for there wine however again I ordered a glass of red which came out extremely warm. I would not go back again as it was expensive and the food was not worth the cost.
Our group of 8 was looking for a nice dinner on our last night in Orange Beach. Jackpot! Everyone enjoyed their dinner, even the person who ordered a medium well steak that came medium rare (she should have sent it back). I had the special grouper with grits, and boyfriend had a steak with crab... both were delicious!! Also had to have some broiled oysters that were excellent. Travis was very helpful with menu selections and put up with our somewhat loud antics...luckily the place was not crowded on a Sunday evening. Ask for Travis!! Would definitely recommend Villaggio!!!
We dine here fairly often because we enjoy it, but Saturday night was not up to par. Service was good, but almost too quick. Plates were picked up as soon as one of us finished. The bill arrived almost before I took my last bite. Most disappointing, however, was the seafood pasta. Usually one of my favorites, it was oily and had very little taste to it. Too bad. I would now hesitate to order it again.
