Villaggio del Vino
Service not the best - food great
We are new to Texas and we’re celebrating our 5th Anniversary and wanted to go to an upscale dining restaurant. Villaggio did not disappoint.
We had the entire restaurant to ourselves which was wonderful. Our server Jon B. was new but extremely personable and very friendly.
From the appetizer to the main course everything was delicious. The Lemon Drop martinis are to die for! I had two!
All in all I would deff go back for a special occasion or perhaps just an outing for one of their pizzas. I had the Prosciutto and Fig thin crust pizza and it was the bomb!
Such an excellent meal! Lobster Ravioli was outstanding and the steak flatbread app was unbelievable!
Arrived at 5 only two chairs at bar table. Dragged out a super straight backed chair for 88 year old mother instead of having extra bar chairs they have these cheap chairs in a closet. Of course, we gave mom the comfortable chair. Then waited for 10 minutes to order drinks while waitress stood with back to us messing with paperwork. No happy hour pricing...martinis were $18 each! 12 inch pizza was $20. Fig goat cheese pizza had this horribly sweet fig jam (usually served for biscuits because jam is super sweet) smeared on crust. Awful! Gigs are in season for Gods sake. For some reason (because I’ve ordered this before) the pistachio pizza had a nut paste on it instead of real chopped pistachio. The paste had oxidized and was a black and bitter mess. The crust on both pizza were limp. Such a shame because they have a pizza oven that usually makes very good crispy crunchy crust. But...the absolute most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen served in a ‘fine’ dining restaurant was the lobster ravioli. OMG. No visible ravioli discernible it was just a chopped up, over cooked glob of a mess with a super thick goopy pink gravy-like sauce whipped in to it. I’m certain this was a boilable bag item bought from a food broker and they boiled the hell out of it. MY BILL WAS $177 and I’ve never been more embarrassed by the whole experience...never ever will I go back. What a waste and to think it was the first sit down dining out experience my mother has had since March. Disgusting and disappointed ☹️ would have been better experience at Whataburger.
Delicious!! Manicotti with spinach and spaghetti and meatballs were so good. Meatballs were slightly spicy and yummy! Sauce on manicotti was delish.
We didn’t get our whole order. Drinks were not that great. No one wore masks.
Food not real Italian and over priced for the quality and portion. Margarita was fabulous and service terrific! Would go for drinks, not for the meal.
Great service and yummy food!
Well I have to give some understanding to the pandemic situation. It’s clear that the servers and kitchen staff don’t have it together. Our food did not come out in a timely manner and with the desert the espresso and the crème brûlée were miles apart in time served. The crème brûlée I felt tasted like it had been made previously it was good but I have had the cream Brulé before at this restaurant and it was outstanding previously. A big difference in what I was served this week
My favorite place to dine!
The food is always excellent, and the servers are always on their game.
I adored the waitress that took care of us. The food was delicious and the service was quick!
Always outstanding! Summer is always a pleasure to have as our server! Loved the patio dining!
So excited to eat at Villagio again!! Sat outside and was not only beautiful, but service and staff did a fabulous job!!!
The chicken marsala was a little bland but still good.
The food was good not great. Definitely depends on what you order. Service was below average.
I am so sorry that your experience was not top notch. We are not comfortable with our customers being less than 100% satisfied. Please consider a re-visit.....we are confident that we can show you an experience that you will enjoy!
Great food and service - One of our favorites ❤️
Great experience. Good food great service. We will be back
Had a reservation mix up and was seated in the bar, hence the noise rating. Would highly recommend, service is impeccable and food is flavorful and familiar but new and fresh. Great wine list.
Ambiance, food, service -- all first-class. Villaggio del Vino is a classy and welcome addition to the Tyler dining scene.
Great service and food was delicious!
Very lovely New Years Eve. And every course was just delicious!! Loved our waitress!
Cordial, professional host greeting. Cozy but inviting bar. Excellent bar tender, drinks & service. Stylish, comfortable dining room. Good buzz. Service started slow, but once our wait staff acknowledged us (I think they were unclear who was assigned to serve us), the remainder of the evening’s service was seemless. Good appetizers, entres & desserts. Our party of four each tried someting different and enjoyed all. Overall pleasant evening.
Food was great! Service was exceptional. Had a little issue with our pizza but they made right. I can’t wait to go back and try another dish
My friend and I met at Villagio for lunch on Saturday! We had never been there before but we both love Italian food. We loved the atmosphere, food, wine, and the service! I will definitely be back with others!!!
Not as good as I expected. Service was slow. Food was flavorless. Chicken was overcooked and no bread and olive oil offered. I will not go back.
Great Food and Service! The pistachio crusted salmon was amazing , I would diffidently return to try other dishes.
Always so good!
Perfect. Great evening
Omg! What can I say about this place??!!! I am not familiar with the Tyler area but I had a first date and this place fit the ambiance I was trying to create. Everyone was wonderful and they all played a part in what turned out to be a flawless date! Our waitress, Fredericka, was so funny and her comments of encouragement were not lose on us. This place will forever be special to me and hopefully us!
The service was poor and the prices were too high for the type of casual restaurant it is.
We loved the food, drinks and dessert. The ambiance could have been better. Lower lighting and may candles light for our aniversary.
Servers are wonderful. We were unsure why we were charged $1.50 for a few extra pieces of crackers that were to come with our crab and avocado stack. What made it odd was that we ordered two of these appetizers and one came with 6 crackers and one came with 3. So we asked for more and were charged extra. The appetizer was already $20.
The whole experience was great! Our server miss Fredricka made the experience extra great! I have followed her from her previous job. I will always ask for her. Try the lobster ravioli, it's my favorite
The food was good, but was not hot. waitstaff is excellent! Ambience is great. Drinks and bar area are great for catching up and relaxing. Overall a good experience and will go back.
I suppose this is a gem for Tyler, but certainly not up to Dallas standards. Everyone is VERY friendly, and it’s a sincere friendliness. Cocktails were fabulous! Also, the restaurant’s design is modern, bright, and chic! Negatives? Food was only fair and the biggest “sin” was the waitress bringing out the entree’s not even five minutes after she served the salad/soup offerings. Major faux pas! I suppose the final straw was the live wasp hovering over our heads the entire dinner.
Always the perfect place to meet your friends for lunch, dinner and a fabulous glass of wine!
Great food and service for a special evening !
Enjoyed this place previously with adequate service and tasty food. This return trip was not a good experience. Waitress acted like she was in a power struggle over the happy hour menu. Several of the items on regular menu are “no longer available” which makes ordering unnecessarily complicated. We saw more of the guy filling water glasses than our waitress the last half of our dining experience. While this is a fun environment and has unique dishes we will not be back until things improve.
I wouldn't describe noise level as energetic. This is definitely one of our favorite restaurants but the noise level is terrible when there are lots of people in the restaurant. It's hard to have a conversation. Wish they would put up some sort of sound absorbing panels.
Atmosphere was lovely. Lots of windows, open and airy. Sea bass delicious, served with crisp new potatoes a bit over cooked. A side of green vegetable would have been perfect. Green salad over dressed making for soggy lettuce. Wait staff informed of wine and menu, answering all questions. Crab avocado appetizer was excellent.
