Villaggio del Vino
This is one of my favorite restaurants to bring my out of town guest. The restaurant is visually stunning, the service is always spot on , and the food is always exceptional.
Dining room is a nice size. Menu is varied. Most entrees are $18+. I ordered chicken piccata; it was tasty. At my local Italian restaurant (in the Houston area)that is similarly appointed, for $18 a patron gets two thin chicken breasts, a side of pasta or vegetables and a side salad or Caesar salad. Here for $18 you get a small chicken breast with approximately 1/3 c pasta. Poor value imo. Service was slow. I ordered a glass of wine with my meal but it never came. I tried to eat the paltry portion very slowly to give waitress a chance to bring it but to no avail. With so many choices for dining in Tyler Area this one falls short.
First time at VdV. Reservation was simple and straight forward. Restaurant was very good both in terms of quality and value. We ended ordering take out as well as our meal that night, to have a "repeater" the next night. Looking forward to our next visit.
Loud atmosphere, supposedly nice upscale place but everyone was wearing gym shorts and tees? We walked in it was so loud bc of their buildings acoustics we opted to sit in the bar and see how that went for dinner. That was a bad idea. The bartender was the only one to serve and we sat down for 20 minutes with no service. Decided to leave since we were obviously not in the right place for an anniversary dinner. Very sad, I had higher hopes.
Great food. The blackened halibut is awesome.
This place was AMAZING!!! My husband and I went for our anniversary. The food was outstanding and the service was sublime. The drinks were so tasty. Omg I cannot day enough. We will definitely return!
Great food and drinks. This will probably be our next date night again.
Our service was great & the food was outstanding. I had the goat cheese & spinach quiche, so creamy & tasty. My husband had the beef tenderloin egg Benedict with sweet potato hash. He really loved it. Our appetizer was the fried artichokes with aioli, oh my we would definitely order again. Lovely overall experience.
They have a great menu, everything I’ve tried has been excellent. I especially love their wood fired pizzas.
Blackened halibut was awesome. Great martinis.
The best venue in Tyler
We did it all - drinks, apps, entrees, coffee and dessert. Everything was delicious. The stuffed mushrooms are excellent. I had the Branzino Sea Bass. He had the beef filet. Both were great. The peach bread pudding was a wonderful end to the evening. Our server, Fredericka, has a delightful personality and is a very efficient server. Overall, a lovely evening.
Among our favorite places in Tyler, and even anywhere. Well decorated, high quality food. The service is friendly and professional, though young and often less worldly. All in all, we love it. It’s biggest problem for us is it is overpriced so we can’t go very often.
I love the food here. The service is always amazing....one specific lady who serves lunch is the best!! Food was yummy, I had the Halibut and it was perfect! Great wine list, small bar with great ambiance.
Very modern atmosphere, but very good food, good service, will go back when back in town.
This is our favorite date restaurant because the food is so delicious, the servers are friendly, we can sit outside, and it’s not too crowded. I loved my blackened halibut that was cooked perfectly, and my husband really enjoyed his short rib. We also think they have the best pizza in town!
Best piece of halibut in a long time. Ben our waiter was awesome!!
The dining room was not as intimate as we hoped with the communal seating in the middle. They were out of lamb yet didn’t inform us until it was ordered.
Positives -the crab cakes were excellent, we had the salmon and the sea bass which were extremely good. Dessert was delicious as well we had the creme brûlée and the chocolate cheesecake.
Great food great service - But WAY too loud!!! They need to go something about the noise level!
It was great.
Service was terrible for second time in a row. Food not as good as previous visits
We eat here at least once a month and this is our favorite restaurant in Tyler. If this had been our first meal here, we would never return. It was an hour before our meal was delivered, and the steak was tepid and flavorless, without requested truffle butter. Salmon tasted like it was microwaved. There was a quarter inch of oil in the bowl with the salmon. The appetizer, crab cakes, had good flavor but were room temperature. We will go back, but if it is like this again, we will find another favorite place.
Took out a friend to celebrate retirement.
Love the food and service. Beautiful restaurant but it is sooo loud when it is full. Hard to have a conversation. Wish they could put up some sound absorbing material
Have eaten here often and have enjoyed it. Had dinner on Valentines Day. The server was not good- he completely forgot our appetizer and seemed confused when I told him we wouldn’t be needing it since dinner was coming out. The beef was not very flavorful.
Awesome food, awesome service. My only problem with the whole night is that there was a (obviously drink) group of women screaming and laughing and making it hard to enjoy my own dinner.
Dinner was great. The blackened halibut dish was wonderful and very unique. Will be back for that dish many times.
Great food & service. A little loud in the bar & restaurant.
Great 62nd birthday party with friends and family. Loved it
Had the Poached Halibut and it was the best I have had in a long time. Much better than Oceanairre and Trulucks in Dallas!
Good food, however for the pricey menu, not enough food and non carb options are limited. Will not return for the price.
First and foremost, the service was superb, the wait folks stellar all around. One appetizer, the stuffed mushrooms were OK, but nothing to write home about, but the beef tenderloin flatbread was outstanding! The Golden Beet salad was good, but did not sparkle, lacked something. The entrees, Chicken Saltimbocca was sinfully rich and the stuffing was unbelievably good, my wife had the Shrimp Scampi and is was excellent. The portions were very generous, expect to take a box home. I would guess that this was the best Italian meal we have had outside of Italy, to which we have been 7 or 8 times, and almost as good as my mamma-taught, homemade Italian cooking ( I am a full blooded Dago, second generation). I highly recommend Villagio del Vino. By the way, it is a tad more expensive than other Italian restaurants in Tyler, but it is well worth the extra expense.
Pizza was outstanding! The chicken was not as flavorful as I like. Overall great place.
The food was hit or miss. The tomato basil soup was fantastic! But in three meals of 4 the spaghetti noodles were under cooked. My chicken marsala was bland and did not have the normal rich sauce you think of with good marsala. But the chicken was so rubbery and tough (I do believe it was frozen!), I couldn't eat it. Though our waiter was very good, the service was slow and when we ordered dessert it took 15 minutes for them to tell us one of the desserts we had ordered was no longer available! The tiramisu (a given in an Italian restaurant) had zero flavor except for the refrigerator taste! Oh and the noise level was so high you couldn't have a decent conversation...could only hear all people talking at one time. Definitely not a do over!
Great food & great service! It is pricey though, so we would mainly go there on special occasions.
Very good food and decent wine selection. Service can be spotty and could use a little more training.
Wonderful food and beautiful place but when it’s full, it’s very loud
Everything was excellent! Food and service. Food outstanding on our visit.
Service was beyond our expectations.
Always enjoy Villagio. Food and service is wonderful.
Excellent service from Mike. The Poached Halibut was outstanding.
Summer is an awesome waitress. ALWAYS pleasant and provides great service.
