Village Tavern Scottsdale Ratings and Reviews
Loved you again Village Tavern! We enjoyed wine Wednesday with half price wine and tried a few recommendations from our server. So fun. I tried their new grouper Florentine and it was delish! Hubby had his birthday primerib med rare as ordered, and said out was very tasty. Then their signature butter cake with berries and icecream... wow.
Went to dinner with friends they were paying so I didn’t complain much but my card salad was the worst thing I’ve ever eaten it actually had too much chicken in the letters were totally wilted with too much dressing. The pork sliders that my wife had the buns were so hard there almost like they were toasted but they gave us new ones but damage is already been done our friends didn’t complain too much about theirs but I think they had the same problem with the dried button on the Salmon sandwich. On the scale 1 to 10 my salad was a negative one
We are regulars, but Saturday night the fish was burnt and tasteless , the service was “iffy”, we never got the extra order of French fries. The manager came by when we were finished and offered FF to take home- how stupid was that? Even the carrot cake was not fresh. All in all a very disappointing experience.
Our waitress was very attentive and efficient, Her name was Kristen. Manager was visible throughout dinner and working with his team. Great followup and teamwork by staff with replenishing H20 and other items. Would definitely return on my next trip to Scottsdale
Not happy with the service that evening. Waited for a table even with a reservation. Ordered a call drink and was poured a well drink. The waiter served rice rather than the French fries that were ordered. When asked for med. rare prime rib said they didn't have any and then served it. Very loud.
Village Tavern is a reliable option for meeting friends. I became familiar with them in Colorado and was very happy to find a location in the valley when I moved here. Food is consistently good (love the flank steak). Service was good, attentive, but not too attentive. I recommend the Village Tavern to all my friends.
Our server Travis was great, the food exceptional, great price. Best prime rib we have had in our 17 years of visiting Scottsdale. The brick chicken was moist and flavorful. Spring rolls were delicious and the Calamari was tender and sweet. I know the desserts are fantastic but we had no room left. So we will be back again in the spring of 2018 and will be sure to recommend The Village Tavern to all at our resort!!
Although the food was good and we all had a great time, we had a bit of a rocky start. I had made a reservation requesting the patio. When we arrived they informed us that they do not accept reservations for the patio (it would have been nice to have been told that fact prior to our arrival). Our goal was to select a nice restaurant with a good patio. Since we couldn't sit on the patio, I asked for a quite table where we could have a conversation without having to scream over the noise. The hostess lead us to a table right outside the kitchen. As we walked thru the restaurant there were many empty tables in much quieter areas. We were told to pick one of two tables both were very close to the kitchen. They were in process of training on one side of the room but it appeared they were short staffed, service was very slow.
Village is one of our go to places. On Friday, we took two visitors there for lunch. Two had blue cheese salad, one had quesadillas and I had Marguerita Flatbread. They were all delicious, as usual. It's a bit noisy, but if you sit in a booth, it is tolerable. You will enjoy your meal there. BTW, Costco has $100 gift cards for $80.
Outstanding restaurant! We are from the San Francisco Bay area and this is as good as anything we have had in a long time. So many great things on the menu and prepared excellent . Service was great and Cynthia our waitress was one of the best !
The butter cake dessert might be the best we’ve ever had. We will be back!
We started with drinks and appetizers in the bar. Our waiter, John, was very nice!!! However, we didn't see him as often as we would have liked, and several of the drinks had issues, ie broken glass, terrible mixing, AWFUL SANGRIA!!!!!
We moved to the dining room for dinner, and only did so hoping to have better service. Our waiter, Grant, was like a deer in the headlights. We tried to order a nice Caymus bottle of wine. He first brought us some other crazy bottle and tried to tell us it was a Caymus. After several drive by's, we finally asked where our wine was. He told us that the manager had to get it for us. Thirty minutes after we ordered it, we finally got our bottle, which was delicious. To be honest, I think he thought a group of women didn't know about good wine...that was the impression we got, anyway.
The food was OK. We ordered several dishes and all sampled some of each. The shrimp and grits were a terrible disappointment - the shrimp had no flavor and weren't an appropriate size for the cost of the dish.
The booth we were in was AWESOME for a group of 5 good friends, and the restaurant appears to be on a level it can't seem to support. There is so much potential there, but we have marked the Village Tavern off of our spots to get-together. With a town like Scottsdale, with so many excellent choices, my prediction is that the tavern will be a cave before long.
PS - Our server didn't return one of our credit cards. While we don't think Grant was trying to do anything sketchy, it caused a huge amount of trouble for one of my friends.
We had a reservation for 3 on a Sunday night 7:30 pm but there was plenty of seating available so we had choices. Sat in the bar area to watch MLB playoffs. TV viewing just okay. Service was friendly and quick. Flank Steak and Veggie Burger were very good. Nachos were just okay since we ran out of chips before all the toppings. We added the ground beef option which I would pass on next time around. Overall I gave it 5 stars as I would definitely come back as we enjoyed our food and service was terrific.
The employees are so friendly! From The hostess to the servers, everyone was smiling.
Food was delicious! All of us lived our meals. Server got everything perfect even though we made changes from the menu.
The only issue was that the bathrooms were shut down due to some blockage. But they were driving people over to the very close hotel as needed.
Village Tavern was a great place to celebrate a birthday and they didn't even blink when we said we were celebrate 2 birthdays and they brought our complimentary sundaes. Service was great, but not too cloying. Great food; it was hard to make a decision. Try the Cubano sandwich.
Some of the best prime rib we have had in a very long time. It’s a throw back, but the French onion soup was extremely good! The vegtables were fresh and cooked perfect! Great setting very good service. It was a really great dining Experience! Thank you! We will be back,
I found this restaurant an internet,
Put American restaurant in scottdale,
I looked at menu and decided book a table for my boy friend and I for date night.
I had veggie burger He had a steak we both are enjoyed it also loved a home made potate chips.
Looks like we got a great waiter at the beginning unfortunately he was not.
I mean he was a really bad but this restaurant has a good environment and very tasty food so I think he is not belong .
I would like to sit outside next time.
Hopefully other person will served us then.
Village tavern is always good. We had Sunday brunch this time. You can order from the weekend brunch menu or the regular lunch menus is available. Village tavern is predictable- the food is excellent, reasonably priced, and a comfortable place to be. We recommend it for lunch, dinner, or anytime. Enjoy.
