Village Tavern Greensboro Ratings and Reviews
Our group goes once a month. I go for brunch and lunch at least once a month. My favorite restaurant! We usually get exceptional service. Our waitress was probably new for last visit. Our waitress for lunch even knows what we want to eat and knows us by name.
We absolutely loved Village Tavern! Great food, friendly staff and warm atmosphere.
Great food & service. Never had a bad meal. We love it.
Our server was friendly enough, got our food to us, billed us correctly... and yet somehow I got the feeling they would be more at home working in an auto parts store. I have noticed over the past couple of months that service isn't quite as good as it has been for decades. I suspect that the more experienced servers left the V.Tavern when they were told the upcoming remodeling project would put them out of work for several weeks. Just a theory. I do look forward to returning to the V.Tavern when they reopen. I'm sure the food will be good and hope it is still as comfortable as it is now. Oh, and do keep the half priced wines on Wednesdays!
Another wonderful dining experience with family and friends.
Comfortable place with outstanding service and real good food............... great setting as well with a large fireplace, highly recommended
6 of us got together after Christmas to celebrate and have a casual dinner. Our servers were great at understanding our relaxed timing, refilled drinks, water, wine, made sure that we were taken care of but did not intrude on conversations. We shared spinach and crab dip, which were excellent. Then many entrees were ordered and everyone was satisfied with their selections. This is a quality restaurant and I look forward to seeing their remodel in the next few weeks.
Had the prime rib. Was a great last minute find on an almost ruined night. Food was great so was service. Calamari was best Ive had and Ive had authentic calamari dishes in Greece and Italy.
It had been a long time since we had been to the village tavern. It was great!! Food and service and we could hear each other. We will be back. K high Point
Best place in Greensboro for food and drinks with friends and co-workers. Great service and great atmosphere.
Great food! Very enjoyable experience. We find the food is much better at lunch than dinner.
We, party of five, arrived at our reservation and were promptly seated. Drink and appetizer order were taken very quickly. Main course options were taken as soon as the drinks were delivered. Food was hot, delicious and served in an appealing manner. I would return to the Village Tavern Restaurant the next time I am visiting friends or family in Greensboro, NC.
Food and drink timing was excellent. Service was on point and as always, food was delicious!!
Overall bad dining experience for me and my wife at the Village Tavern for Sunday brunch. The hostess is in need of Miss Kate's hospitality classes (OK a bit unfair), but piling the menus in one location for the diners to sort through them is a bit cold. Speaking of cold, the grits were luke warm, both meals did not arrive at the table at the same time, coffee refills did not occur until requested, and the french bread consisted of thick slices of bread that were lightly coated with egg (the bread interior was bone dry) Oh, that's the toast : ( . We explained the situation to the manager, she compt the meals and apologize for the poor experience. I wanted to at least live some tip since it was a week before Christmas. Had to go to the bar to get change for a 20 and by the time I got the change, I only received 2 fives and 5 ones. I am thankful to others at the bar who witnessed the entire transaction! I pointed out the mistake to the bar keep and the same manager came to rectify the situation. All I could do is laugh by this point and the manager smiled. Wow, what a dining experience. As for returning, maybe not during the holidays....
Great food and service! Have been many times. Clam chowder this time wasn’t hot.....still good.
My visit was on the weekend before Christmas and the restaurant was busy. I was impressed with the service and the attentiveness of the staff.
The first basket of rolls we received were a little overcooked. I mentioned it to a server and our waiter brought out a delicious basket of fresh rolls when they came out if the oven. The service was excellent . The food was delicious and the portions were more than adequate. We each took home leftovers. It was a great dining experience!
I’m Hooked on Prime rib for lunch. Best place for lunch with girlfriends. We live in Sedgefield but it’s worth the drive ~ 20 minutes.
Treated my friend to lunch for her birthday. The food was good as was the service. It does get a little noisy but at least people are happily enjoying their meals!
Great location! Been visiting this VT for decades, as it's right down the street from my parents' home. The food is consistently tasty and served hot. And, the ambiance remains comfortable for gatherings and meetings.
From the crab dip app. to the entrees of filet mignon and sea bass, everything was absolutely delicious. Great presentation and everything was served timely and hot.
On the service side, while we never felt neglected there was a sense that none of the staff were happy about being there. This was our first visit here and we just recently moved to NC from NH. Perhaps we are used to seeing smiling happy service staff from up north but we did not see that here. We looked around at all the other servers and never saw one of them smile. Everyone just seemed to be going through the motions. However the hostess was wonderful.
All in all we had a great meal and will certainly return. I just hope to see happier people.
We have been customers for 10 years. Consistently good food in an inviting dining room. The bar seating is also good with same great menu. Restaurants come and go but this one survives because the food is reliably tasty. Nice variety of mostly American dishes, hamburgers to steaks, salads to seafood.
Reservation was for 7. Arrived at 6:50 and told would need to wait closer to 7 and waiting for current table to finish. Seated our party of 4 at 7:10. Food was amazing! Service could have been a bit better, drink refills was slow. Also the atmosphere was very crowded and loud. Our table so close to the others around us that 2 of our party felt they were sitting with another table. Again the food definitely made up for the close contact and crowd noise level.
