Excellent service - excellent food. My husband tried one of their new dishes - the meatball skillet - and thought it was extremely good. As usual, the place was packed. We have been going there for years and were very surprised at how quickly our food came from the kitchen. We will go back again soon.

Village Tavern is consistently excellent. Great burgers cooked just like you want, instead of over cooked like most restaurants. Excellent entrees and huge entree salads. Their Prime Rib is always good.
This visit, the service was slower than usual but they were packed! Full house. Probably because of the delicious Brunch menu.
If you are looking for a consistently great meal and good service, the Village Tavern will please you.

I met my elderly Dad and sister at the VT in Greensboro for Sunday Brunch. This location is much smaller than the restaurant in Winston Salem. While the food was good, the overall dining experience wasn’t up to the price and usual service at VT. The dining room had too many tables causing difficulty squeezing into chairs. The noise level was horrible making it difficult to hear each other speak at the table. Perhaps this could be corrected by installing some sound deadening materials on the ceiling and walls to limit reverberation? And finally our server was not very attentive leaving us with frequent empty glasses and waiting for delivery of missing items that were ordered. We noticed she was also “stacking orders” by taking our order and immediately going to the next table to do the same before entering the order into the computer. I thought most restaurants taught their servers to place table orders individually to avoid kitchen back-ups and cold food? Overall, not a great experience so next time I’ll choose another Greensboro restaurant for brunch.

The waitress was very friendly and helpful with her recommendations. She made nice conversation and checked on us a reasonable amount.

The restaurant looks beautiful! So fresh and inviting. We enjoyed a fun, birthday celebration lunch on Saturday afternoon. Mimosas and Sandwiches! Great combination. Thanks so much!

The remodel enhanced the dining experience and the food was as good as ever. As you enter the dining area, we were in the right back window corner. The table between us and kitchen was so noisy the 4 of us could hardly hear our conversation. FYI. Tom

Our reservations thru Open Table allowed us to experience only a 15 minute wait (and we arrived two minutes late) during a really busy post-Valentine's-day Friday night with a walk-in wait of over an hour.
Despite the crowded waiting area, everyone treated us with a smile - we all knew it was busy, but the staffers were upbeat and not at all frazzled.
Once we got seated, the waiting area frenzy was behind us, and the wait staff was wonderful - answered questions about the menu, found out answers to a question about a specialty item I saw at the bar, etc.etc.
Despite every table being filled, there was no delay in drink or food delivery.
The food, as usual for Village Tavern, was well prepared and delicious. A lovely array of veggie colors on my husband's Colorado Chicken made that presentation stand out, and my Prime Rib was just right and exactly as I ordered it.
The staff was clearly proud of the recent remodel, and the room remained warm and friendly, but offered great separation from tables; I didn't have to listen to anyone else's conversation, and could hear my partner easily as we conversed.
This was a five star date night for us - thank you, Open Table and Village Tavern!

Would have thought with the recent renovations that more room would have been provided for those waiting to be seated. You didn't make any changes for this area which was very disappointing. For people who are not seated the only place to stand out of the way is in front of the hallway and that became a hassle. With all the money you did spend on renovations you could have or maybe SHOULD have enlarged this area.

Server was excellent, the portions were moderate for the price, and the bathroom was almost nasty, but it was also late, so I will cut some slack.

The tavern had just reopened. They asked you to make reservations so we did. They were seating people that just walked in before those with reservations. It was a joke. I’ve been going to the tavern since the day it opened but we’re rethinking that. If you can’t run a restaurant, close it down. Excuses are worth zero,

Really good food, decent service and a nice atmosphere. Menu has a nice balance of southern comfort food and American cuisine. Drink menu is good but the wine list is better in my opinion. Our waiter was knowledgable and friendly but a little slow in the service. However for a busy Friday night after reopening it was certainly acceptable.

Very good food and excellent service! Definitely use OpenTable to book your reservation, we would have waited an hour if we had just walked in. We mentioned we were from out of town and the chef gave us a free desert in honor of our first time at the restaurant... highly recommend if you are in the Greensboro area.

Our group goes once a month. I go for brunch and lunch at least once a month. My favorite restaurant! We usually get exceptional service. Our waitress was probably new for last visit. Our waitress for lunch even knows what we want to eat and knows us by name.

Our server was friendly enough, got our food to us, billed us correctly... and yet somehow I got the feeling they would be more at home working in an auto parts store. I have noticed over the past couple of months that service isn't quite as good as it has been for decades. I suspect that the more experienced servers left the V.Tavern when they were told the upcoming remodeling project would put them out of work for several weeks. Just a theory. I do look forward to returning to the V.Tavern when they reopen. I'm sure the food will be good and hope it is still as comfortable as it is now. Oh, and do keep the half priced wines on Wednesdays!

6 of us got together after Christmas to celebrate and have a casual dinner. Our servers were great at understanding our relaxed timing, refilled drinks, water, wine, made sure that we were taken care of but did not intrude on conversations. We shared spinach and crab dip, which were excellent. Then many entrees were ordered and everyone was satisfied with their selections. This is a quality restaurant and I look forward to seeing their remodel in the next few weeks.
