Village Tavern Greensboro
Hamburger and baked potato or not very warm. The other order of salmon had to be returned because it was made incorrectly. We had requested no glaze and it came with glaze.
In addition the hamburger was ordered with cheese and bacon only and then the hamburger came with cheese bacon and pickles.
Extremely crowded and noisy. Service was off because of it. However the food was good as usual.
Service was excellent, food good but didn't necessarily want Mexican.
Village Tavern is a great place for Sunday Brunch. The service was good and the food was outstanding.
Dinner was amazing!! The staff was great! It was a birthday celebration for my husband and my grandson and we could not have been more pleased.
Good as usual. Unfortunately, there was a large party that was loud. Really wish they had a separate party room. But good food, great service.
Great atmosphere. friendly and courteous staff. Food was excellent.
Ask for Paul. He is the best waiter there. He also knows a lot about wine.
We went to the Village Tavern for my wife's birthday. We have eaten there before and have always had a good meal. That night was no exception.
The primary reason I would be hesitant to recommend them is the menu. It is a bit old-fashioned and offered no Mediterranean based entrees or creole offerings. The burger I selected was quite nice but the onion and jalapeños were few , yet I had requested additional peppers and onions. The small plate my wife ordered was average.
This experience has been a consistent experience at most restaurants: very limited and uncreative menus usually featuring under seasoned and bland renditions of time worn diner entrees.
In all fairness, this particular venue was well attended so it appears to be popular.
Food was delicious as usual but service was not do great which is very unusual.
Dad loved his club sandwich and my mom’s Benedict was yummy too!
Love the reservation app. Walked right in and no wait.
These folks where great, food was outstanding and they where a nice as you would want. service was outstanding
just a great place to eat
Great neighborhood restaurant. We come here often.
Good but server was lack luster
We took friends out to Village Tavern on Thursday night , they had never been there.
Friday night some other friends wanted to meet there so we went back Friday.
On Thursday the waiter told us we could have lunch size portions for dinner and on
Friday we were told we couldn't. We don't know which it is so there was some confusion,
but overall Village Tavern has always been one of our favorite restaurants in Greensboro.
My ribeye was so tough I could barely cut it. It also had silver fat running through it. I wondered if it was actually a rib eye. The asparagus was over cooked. The garlic mashed potatoes were flavorless and had a consistentcy of being reheated. We had guests to celebrate a birthday and I didn’t want to dampen the mood by sending my food back. My husband said his crab cake was mushy. Our guests seemed to enjoy their meals.
We used Open Table to make a reservation and were seated immediately upon arriving at the Village Tavern. We asked for a booth and were accommodated as we did not mind that we would sit near the kitchen. Our server was great and took the time to be sure we had our drinks refilled even though it was a very busy time for both her and the restaurant. We always enjoy our food here for the variety (so many dishes left to try) and come back knowing the service and quality of the food is above par. Thanks for making our date night fun!
I normally enjoy coming for dinner when in town, but this time was not enjoyable. Our service was pretty bad and he was not very attentive for how busy it was not there. It was very loud and we were unable to have a basic conversation over dinner. It was the deadest I have ever seen it and it was the loudest it was ever. The food was good as always.
VT never disappoints. Went with 3 friends. Seated promptly. Great price on Martinis-Triple Berry was delicious! Everyone enjoyed their selections.
The restaurant was not busy and everything took longer than usual. My veggie burger came out not even on a bun and fries were cold. Very disappointed due to not the standard of the Village Tavern we are used to. Wait staff was very slow mainly due to personal conversations going on instead of paying more attention to the customer needs. Our bill included bar drinks that came out after the appetizers and were in the wrong glasses due to they had ran out of the correct size. Our dinner plates were not up to the standard we are used at this establishment. Very disappointed at this visit.
Food and service were top notch.
Great food Excellent service Unfortunately it was extremely loud had to move to an outside table found our self's yelling at each other
The food and service are always excellent. Combine that with half price wine night and the place was loud. Fortunately they accommodated us at a corner table. I was surprised we absolutely needed a reservation on a Wednesday night and very glad we had one.
Justin is the BEST waiter! Had a large group next to us so was quite noisy! Food was delicious as always!!
Always a nice time at Village Tavern! Food consistently good. Our server Randall was on top of things for my birthday get-together.
Great food, stellar service by Davenport, who was knowledgeable and attentive, double checking our order and satisfaction.
Great experience as usual. The deserts were exceptional!
Also and most importantly:
Heather, our server, was absolutely fantastic. She was pleasant, professional and a delight to be around. Can’t say enough good things about the service.
Great service , amazing waitress will be back !
Tried the new breakfast bowl and loved it except for the sugar coated bacon. Enjoyed a great Bloody Mary...nice and spicy. Looking forward to my next dining experience at Village Tavern.
Always a favorite of mine for patio dining. Took out of town guests this past weekend. They loved it and can't wait to come back! I also love that they are pet friendly on the patio as we take our "boys" on riding excursions with us and love it when they are welcomed at the table.
The service and food are always outstanding as is the selection of beers and ales. Lauren Slusher did a wonderful job as our server; she is a good sport and ahead of every customer request. The manager had everything humming at peak lunchtime. Without seeing the all of the activity, we would have never known just how busy the restaurant was.
This is a usual place that we g out for dinner. We have never been dissatisfied with the food or the service. We did get a pepper grinder that did not work, however, it was replaced quickly. Grace waited on us and was very attentive.
Great as usual!!
Had the Delmonico Ribeye and it was cooked to perfection, the service was excellent and courteous.
Excellent! Food, service and ambience were great. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Very satisfied.
In my opinion few restaurants in Greensboro clicks as many top boxes. Not the fanciest, not the cleanest, not the changing menu but as far as value and consistency, few can compete. Best fish and chips in town so that's basically what I order all the time.
I loved this restaurant, it was a great experience for my first time there!!!!
