Village Tavern Greensboro
A friend and I met for lunch. The food was great, as usual.
New waitress...Roxanne I think was her name, was incredible. In fact it was her first night working. She was smart, friendly, efficient and extremely attentive to each persons needs. Never had a server like her at VT. The food is always consistent at VT but the fish and chips were prepared the best that I have ever eaten there. In fact, we eat there regularly and have F & C often. The batter was nice and crunchy and the Cod inside was perfectly cooked. Still moist and hot inside the batter. It takes skill to prepare F & C this way.
A neighborhood gem!
As usual a great dining experience...delicious food and great service
I love going to the village tavern for brunch on Sundays this time I went with my mother ,sister and niece for a girls day and as usual they did not disappoint the service and food was excellent.
The menu was not inviting to me but I can normally find something so I order shrimp and grits and sent it back didn’t like the taste I really believe it was the bacon. So then I ordered salad with grilled chicken and it was bad as well the chicken was dry but by this time everyone was finished so I just paid and left. Waitress was rude
The food was faily good but the waitress we had was not, it was the first time there for the lady that was with me and because of the wait staff unfortunately she probably will not return!
Always great food, no matter what you order!
Glad we made reservations. They got very busy. Our food was delicious and service was good. We were celebrating our son's birthday. We will be returning.
Good food. Nice atmosphere. Great service. Will come again.
Fine and food was good
The food is always so fresh and perfectly prepared. The servers are amazing as well. I make it a point to visit every time I am In town.
Our wait person, Lyric, was terrific. She was very attentive to our needs.
Our family experience was outstanding. The only complaint if one would call it that was the loudness of the room. It was not intolerable but louder than I would have preferred. Overall the experience was wonderful, the waitstaff was excellent, the food was awesome.
Food was delicious as always!
Strange evening. Normally VT has good service. It appeared we had a new waiter and service was slow. Food wasn’t delivered as normal. Got our appetizer the same time we got our salads. The taste wasn’t as normal either. That evening was a 2
We normally go to the one in Winston Salem but Greensboro when meeting friends from Burlington.
Food is always good. This is one of our go to Resturants in Greensboro. Great bar. Good service. The Crab cakes are my favorites.
I had not been to VT in years. The appetizers were fantastic -- spinach dip with jalapenos and hot tortilla chips were just as I remembered. Our entrees of flank steak and chicken marsala (both served with mashed potatoes and green beans) were very good. We had a caramel ice cream sundae for dessert that was excellent! Above all, our server, "Lyric", was outstanding. She was attentive, but didn't hover over us, and very accommodating to our every request. Overall, we had a lovely time at Village Tavern.
Beet salad. Wedge salad. A salmon dish. Always good food in a nice environment. I appreciate being able to feel like I’ve had quality food and service for a good price. Please don’t change a thing.
We sat out on the patio food was great waiter made a couple of mistakes but it was corrected no music out on the patio but all and all we had a great experience and we will definitely be back
Horrible inattentive waitress. She clearly did not want to be at work.
Amy, our server, is just fantastic. We look forward to seeing her on our bi-weekly visits to Tavern. Just a great experience!!!
One of my favorite restaurants. Whenever I have out of town guests, this is a must go to. The food is excellent. The wait staff is very friendly.
Excellent service and food. Can be noisy at times, but that often happens with a popular dining spot. Definitely recommended.
Yes, it's my first "go to" place to eat with friends and family! We've been going there for YEARS!
Was very good. We have been going here over 25 years
Excellent food, great service, great time!!! Always a guaranteed great meal when you dine at the Village Tavern!
Village Tavern never disappoints. Finally got a break from the heat and had a great meal and grand time on their patio.
Great service, friendly staff. Good food, will go again.
Two couples out for drinks and dinner - good friends, great food, excellent personable service from Andy (give that guy a raise!), and an all-around fantastic experience at Village Tavern. That’s why we continue to frequent this great establishment. Thanks for yet another enjoyable evening.
Great food and great service! Quite an extensive wine list!
The bacon wrapped scallops were good and well presented.
We had two cocktails off of the special list that were prepared with excessive sweetness. Old Fashioned cocktails shouldn’t be prepared with sweetness over the taste of the underlying whiskey.
My biggest disappointment was the two entree’s off the daily special. They were Grouper presentations that were overwhelming salty. These dishes, while well conceived and presented, were almost inedible due to the salt. We weren’t the only complaints with regards to this issue. Hopefully the chef will do better next time!
While the wait staff was personal, I think his training was lacking. I really hate getting a wine glass that isn’t truly clean. And, I also want to watch the entire uncorking process. Please don’t present a bottle that has the foil already cut back before it can be reviewed for accuracy. It makes me immediately wonder if the bottle has been re-corked.
Order was delivered incorrectly. It took 10 minutes to get salmon which was part of entree salad.
We had our anniversary dinner this evening. We were greeted and congratulated for our anniversary. The staff was good, Bryson our server took good care of us. The food was great.
It was a beautiful evening to dine outside. The patio was perfect. The food, wine and service were excellent. The only detractor was the discussion about AR-15 rifles and "Darwinism" at the adjacent table but this is America, freedom of speech.
This location is good however not as good as Winston Salem’s village tavern. The menu and restaurant itself is smaller and doesn’t contain the best side they have, collard greens. Also the menu at this location does not have ribs either good food and great atmosphere and our server was great but definitely would rather frequent Winston if I had the chance
Great dinner with friends. Great atmosphere. Had a wonderful experience.
We've lived in Greensboro for over 20 years, and have gone to Village Tavern less than a dozen times. I really like the outdoor seating, the drinks are good, the service is excellent...so it must be the food? The food isn't bad, it just seems that every time we go, nothing seems to jump out at me. I end up getting two appetizers, because none of the entrees seem special. Obviously, just my personal opinion, but that's what a review is, right?
Food was amazing as usual. Service was great as well.
This is a usual dinner spot for us. I had the Cajun seafood dish and my wife had a chicken spinach salad. My seafood dish was good as was my wife’s salad, ONCE she received the chicken for the salad. The manager came to our table a bit later and knowing what she was about to tell us, only asked, “how’s your meal?”
When my wife explained why she hadn’t touched her salad, waiting for the chicken - the manager “threw the server under the bus” by saying the server forgot to put the chicken order in.
Hummm, I’m wondering for a Salad entree that starts the title of the dish with Chicken, why would there be a need to order chicken separately???
We WILL go again, because we believe this was an “outlier” from their usually great service and food quality.
We love The Village Tavern. Food always good. Wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It’s a great restaurant.
