Village Tavern Greensboro
We brought my sister and brother in law, who were visiting from Georgia. No one was disappointed! Everything was great.
Generally disappointing, again. Food quality varies. Service is slow. Management fails to recognize and appreciate the importance of both. Always too noisy which fails to appreciate the point if dining out with friends or family.
The food and atmosphere of the restaurant are great for such a small venue. You will want to make reservations as the place fills up very quickly. This was a first time visit so I can only speak for our waitress and not the entire staff. Our waitress was dry, curt, and completely void of personality. My wife and I felt like more of an inconvenience than a patron where she was concerned. The manager that we dealt with was the complete opposite. He was warm, friendly, and took care of all of our issues without question. The only complaint that I had was that halfway through my meal (which I have to say up until this point was amazing) I found a very long hair on my knife as I was cutting my steak that was definitely not mine or my wife's. We showed it to our waitress, she immediately took it to her manager, he came over, vehemently apologized and offered to have another plate prepared free of charge. I no longer had an appetite at this point and politely declined. My wife had no issues with her food however and was able to thoroughly enjoy her meal. They have a very diverse selection of wine and spirits and a rotating selection of craft draft beers that was more than ample for the venue. The plates can get a little pricey depending on your culinary proclivities so keep that in mind. Overall I will more than likely go back to give it another chance as the food was delicious and they have one of my favorite crafts on tap.
Good food. Place was very busy.
A friend and I met for lunch. The crab cake is outstanding.
Always good service and food.
It is always a special event just to go to Village Tavern. Mondays are exceptional with Chicken Clam chowder, one of my wife's favorite. It is also always nice to share it with friends as we did this time, renew friendship, to talk in a moderate atmosphere and enjoy great food. Thanks!
Great food, great service
Due to the time that we were there (1:00 Saturday) the noise level was very high but service & food was very good!
I have eaten with you for years, and always had a wonderful experience. This particular lunch was to celebrate a dear friends birthday. We did not see the waitress until we had been seated for 10 minutes, the order for food was taken 30 minutes later and our food arrived 50 minutes after we had initially been seated. The attitude of our waitress was extremely dull and non- caring. I was very surprised at our experience and most disappointed.
Andy is awesome!
Table location was awful. Next to kitchen so every wait person passed by us constantly, noise from breaking glass bottles was quite irritating. Our server, Roxanne, was great.
Food and service were excellent. Overall atmosphere is great but tables near the front can here the phone ring.
Very nice and pleasant waitress and as always food was great thanks again
Food is excellent service was great. I would highly recommend
Being New Year's Eve, the restaurant was very busy. We had reservations and were seated immediately.
The kitchen was out of salmon early -which seemed poorly planned. Our side orders of fries, green beans, and mashed potatoes arrived cold to the touch and had to be reheated. The fish and chips were blansOur server was very apologetic. We overheard him apologizing to another table as well. An order of French Onion soup never was placed (the charge did not appear on the bill). On positive notes: The Filet Mignon was great. The cut was juicy, favorable, and cooked to our specifications. The order of BBQ honey peppered flatbread was equally tasty. Based on our experience on New Year's Eve, we would not return again for this holiday night. We most likely will return again at some other time, but not again for a special event.
Great experience on New Years Eve! Our lovely server Nadia, made our evening very special!
Did was, as usual, exceptional! Had the salmon and it was great. Had to go get appetizer plates. To be fair, it was New Year’s Eve and was very crowded. Had a reservation and we were seated immediately even though there was a large crowd. Overall it was a good experience, which we have come to expect and are seldom disappointed. We are very frequent customers and really enjoy Village Tavern!
Outstanding food! My Cajun seafood- I want that every day! The scallops were seared off perfectly... shrimp and grits were also exceptional and my kid’s grilled salmon also an exceptional choice.
An enjoyable evening of family, fellowship and food.
First time eating brunch there. The food and the service were wonderful.
Great food and great service!!
Really enjoy this restaurant and the food is amazing. I reserve 5 Stars for very high end restaurants but this is a 5 star, every day enjoyable restaurant for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner.
My drink was served in a glass with lipstick on it. When I brought it to the managers attention he “corrected” it by not charging me for the drink. More should have been done.
Casual and good. All the little things are done well and it really make the dinner enjoyable.
Had Thai Chicken salad. One of my favorites there and had the spinach dip for appetizer. Enjoyed good service and had a good time.
The chicken corn chowder soup was delicious!
Asked for one kids meal to split and was charged for two. Steak dinner does not include a salads.
The calamari was to die for! Steak and shrimp and grits were also amazing! Highly recommend!
Wonderful loved everything
Love this place! We eat there whenever we are in Greensboro!
Our server was so tired and you could tell. She was not personable at all. Did not have a good service experience but the food was fine. One person got a BLT and it was ice cold, like it had been in the fridge all day.
We were celebrating my wife’s birthday....I know that they offer a free complimentary dessert for birthdays. The waiter never asked us what I would like to pick. I spoke with the hostess afterwards and she was very apologetic and told me to pick anything I wanted...she was so sweet. I also told her that the grouper meal that both my husband and I ordered was well overcooked and very tough...you needed a sharp knife to cut it. We have been going to Village Tavern for occasions but this visit was not very well.
The food is always delicious no matter what I order. The prices are great.
Great been there before great place to eat.
I have been to Village Tavern so many times but this last time was not even worth the time or money. Thankfully we made reservations however we still needed to wait when we got there. The bread that was brought to the table was rock hard and we struggled to cut it with a knife. When our food came out I watched a girl bring it to three different tables before she brought it to our and my potatoes and broccoli were not even warm. My Chicken Colorado was charted and had a burnt taste and though I have had that dish at other Village Taverns before where it’s been done perfectly I couldn’t eat it since the outside was burnt. I won’t be going there ever again. I hope it’s just a bad night there but I wasn’t happy and while I didn’t complain, I also know that if someone isn’t eating their food you should check on them and see if there was a problem. Something else that didn’t happen.
