Village Tavern - Charlotte
This is one of our favorite "Go To: spots-we have never been disappointed at the Village Tavern. We ate outside and it was delightful. As always, service was polite, friendly and attentive and the food was great.
Very good food and excellent service. We’ll be back!
Used to frequent VT but haven’t been in a year. Not sure what happened but food quality was terrible this time. Everything we ordered was nowhere near the level of the past. Disappointed to say the least.
My sister-in-law and I ate lunch at Village Tavern a few days ago. As always, we were delighted with our visit; we have never been disappointed. We both chose salads, and they were outstanding! We will keep returning to this favorite neighborhood restaurant.
Our server, Forrest was excellent!
There are 4 of us friends who worked together for 30+ years. Until recently, the idea of getting together for a good meal was not a reality- however, circumstances change and Sunday has been our day to meet up. Village Tavern is close to our church and we go to an early service and then to brunch. Every time we meet at VT has been wonderful! It’s our” default” restaurant if we don’t have something in mind- it’s just that good!!
Great place. Will definitely return.
We were 6 people
Waffle was soggy as was French toast so food disappointed
The restaurant experience was outstanding!!! Brittany did a marvelous job in serving our table and allowing us plenty of time to make choices. It was not loud in the main room and the food is over the top.
We will come often for the crab dip.....just awesome!!! AND all food items were reasonably priced. We had so much that we came home with three carry-out boxes.
great experience great food.. I will return to this location. Staff very friendly
We sat outside on a beautiful night. Food was all great. We love this place. Server was very nice but a little slow.
In Charlotte for a wedding and staying at the Renaissance Hotel nearby. We wanted a lunch place that was close and had a good variety of menu items to please everyone in our groups needs. The Village Tavern hit if out of the park - numerous choices to please everyone and excellent quality of food. They were able to accommodate any special requests and we left happy and satisfied.
Food was great! Restaurant was really nice. Sat in the patio area last Friday, service was a little slow but the waitress was a little busy. No biggie.
As always, we enjoyed our meal. Service was friendly and efficient, patient (have elderly parent who didn't like her soup and changed it), and attentive. Comfortable booth, good food, and they don't rush you. A great place to bring friends!
They need to cleanup the patio. Furniture looks tired, ground is dirty and ambiance poor.
Chris, our waitress understood that my friend and I were visiting and in no rush.
When she served the appetizers, she said she would check with us before putting in the entree orders. She was thoughtful and knowledgeable.
The food was good although entrees arrived luke warm and our waiter was not very efficient. Drink orders were late and wrong, waited 35 minutes for appetizers and he could not get our check broken out correctly - we finally just paid and agreed to settle up after. Better training for wait staff is definitely needed.
This is a typical bar, very noisy! Food was well prepared and tasty. Ambience was good.
Never disappointed at the Village Tavern. Food always prepared per instructions. Great steaks, great service, great value! Thanks
This is always a great place for a reliably delicious meal.
I was surprised by this experience. After living in Atlanta and working in Alpharetta, I'm familiar with Village Tavern there. The ambiance at the Alpharetta location is by far much better. The food was good, but overpriced. Two tacos, a small side of rice and beans and tea was over $20 including tip for lunch. I'll return to the Alpharetta location when in the area, but not the Charlotte location.
A lot of palmetto bugs all over the place while dining outside. Service was very slow
Mix of people. Great atmosphere and excellent food. Would definitely go again.
Our reservation was 6:15 p.m, we waited until 6:27 p.m. to get asked for our drinks as the waitress walked by us twice asking other patrons if they were ok but not acknowledging our table. It was my wife's birthday in which I placed in the reservation and the hostess acknowledged. Outside of that acknowledgement, there was not any other acknowledgment by the hostess or manager that stopped by. The food was very good but the last several times we have eaten there the service has not been that good.
Love Village Tavern.
Great food and atmosphere. Dined outdoors on the
patio and it was delightful!
A fly buzzed around our table. It flew in the filtered water bottle. We trapped it. Meal was great after that excitement.
Sat outside, service was excellent due to the hard work of the server although place seemed to be short staffed.
Great service and food. Especially desserts
It was almost the perfect meal. Great brunch menu with something for everyone. Unfortunately, our food took over and hour to get to us. Our waitress disappeared and other wait staff were busy taking care of their tables so it was hard to get anyone’s attention. My order came incorrect but the step in waiter was quick to fix it. Despite the poor service experience, we will probably go back. Being able to have everyone in our party find and enjoy their food was a first! We will give our waitress a pass and keep our fingers crossed that next time we can give it all five stars!
Good service. Good food.
Food was wonderful and my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and I had exactly what I wanted for lunch - French Onion Soup and Beet Salad, delish !
The food is consistently delicious! I especially love the kale salad and awesome milk cake!
Portions are generous; always fresh ingredients.
It was good service
Always fun and excellent!
We had not been to Village Tavern in quite a while, and were very disappointed to see the quality of food has gone down. Even the great fries are no longer great. Bummer. This place used to be a classic you could count on.
VT never disappoints. Very courteous staff and delicious food! I wish it were quieter, though.
I miss the flank steak on the menu. Our server was awesome.
I had been to VT several other occasions and had a very good experience overall. Four of us went on a Thursday night and sat for over 3 hours watching the tables next to us turn over several times. Our waiter was absent most of the night and we had to request water and bread several times during the evening. We ultimately had to seek out the Manager, who apologized for not being present on the dining floor most of the night. For some reason she was caught up in the kitchen most of the evening. They did have a very large party that night, but our waiter was not assigned to that table. We were served the wrong meals at first and one person received the wrong change for her tab. Overall, not a good experience. The Manager did present each of us with a $20 voucher and apologized for the service.
Great menu selection, comfortable booths, exceptional food! Server Kevin's attention and charm more than made up for some slight delays in the service process on this particular visit. Looking forward to our next time here!
