Village Tavern Broomfield Ratings and Reviews
We chose Tavern V based on the reviews. We were celebrating our anniversary (which I expressed in advance). The atmosphere was very noisy and unattractive for any “date” night. It had a noisy cafeteria feel. We felt the waitress was rushed to get us in and out. The food was not worth the price. The flavor of my halibut was good BUT was SO over cooked and nearly burnt on the sides and chewy texture. My husband ordered the salmon...nothing special. Again...we had higher expectations due to the reviews. Picked the wrong place for a nice anniversary dinner.
I know it was a Friday night and we understood it would be busy however, our waitress never came to take our meal order after she turned in our appetizer order. She did come back to ask if we wanted another drink and then quickly left before we could order food. The bourbon and coke my husband ordered took 20 minutes to get to the table and by the time he received it the ice had melted. Waitress said the bar was backed up. We went out for my husbands birthday and I wish the waitress would have actually visited our table a little more frequently. We had to flag her down to take our food order. Food was totally awesome, waitress not so much.
The service and food were excellent. It was New Years Eve and the hostess was a bit grumpy and when she greeted us (although it was early, 5:30) she assumed we had walked in rather than had reservations. She said, “We’re full but street walk-ins can still be served in the bar.” When I told her we had reservations, she seemed put out and had the seater place us by the kitchen. I asked the seater if we could be further from the kitchen and he was able to move us.
We have been to Village Tavern about 5-6 times, and on this latest visit, the temp of the food really stood out. My fries were cold as soon as they got to the table, and my salmon sandwich, although tasty, could have been warmer too. My husband's black beans were also cold, but his steak on the same plate wasn't (he asked for new beans and received fresh, hot beans). The kitchen must do a better job of keeping the food warm before it gets to the table - something is definitely off in their timing and execution in the kitchen.
We hadn’t been to Village Tavern in awhile and after our last experience decided we need to eat at VT more often. Food was great, drinks were perfect and they accommodated special requests with no problem. Our server, Kegan, was excellent! We will definitely be back!
Went on a Tues night for our anniversary. It was extremely loud, mediocre service that never checked in on us, had to flag her down multiple times, had to ask for bread. Prime rib was flavorless and overpriced especially with no bread, salad, etc., as part of the price. Won't recommend this place any more.
Overall they have a great menu with a wide variety of selections. We went with our kids who had no problem finding something they liked. The street tacos, fish and chips, and meatball skillet were all excellent. Good wine and cocktail selection but not a lot of beers on tap.
We have enjoyed this restaurant many times. Its atmosphere takes your attention away from the effort of shopping the adjacent mall. The menu has been simplified and the desserts are far too big to be a light ending to a great meal. Sitting near the fire place is a real treat.
We enjoyed the dinner for our anniversary. The manager was very nice and kind with champagne and desert for us. Only thing I didn't like , was no privacy, quiet spot for us to have a romantic dinner. There was kids across from us and the wait staff a few booths up from us. Pretty nosily. Was OK when we were first seated. But filled in. We loved our waitress, she was fun and attentive.
