Village Tavern Boynton Beach Ratings and Reviews
Always A good place fr dinner. The menu is large with lots of variety from meat to fish.
The prime rib is excellent as is the braised short ribs. It is a good plae to go with friends for dinner. We were fortunate, again, to have Lu as our server. She is pleasant and very efficient. She made our evening quite enjoyable.
The waitress was very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable of various menu items.
The service was satisfactory and we didn’t feel rushed when the meal was complete. Many options on the menu to please everyone’s taste. All in all, a very enjoyable evening.
We have been to Village Tavern numerous times & this one was a big disappointment. When we entered
The hostess was totally unprofessional more interested in talking to her other coworker then seating us.
I ordered the new Bacon Jam burger I asked for it to be pink not bloody. It was absolutely rare. My husband luckily likes his cooked that way so we swapped meals.
His was awful a new menu item braised meatballs with burrrata over grits. Overdone 4 tiny meatballs & no grits to be found. I will return to have the hamburger I usually love & chalk this up to a big misstep.
Very delightful interior, classy with good food. The prime rib is always good, the tilapia Hemingway is very good. The service is breaking in new blood, and they’re learning. No longer accept Open Table reservations according to hostess. You will enjoy the meal!
Went in for a birthday brunch at 1:30pm and after being seated had to get the attention of the waiter to get service. Several times during the stay it became necessary to get his attention rather then his passing by the table regularly. The room was not crowded but at the same time was very understaffed. When food had not arrived after 45 minutes of ordering had to ask for a manager. Food arrived shortly after that and was of good quality but no attempt was made by manager or waiter to apologize for a two hour brunch in a never more then half filled restaurant.
I am glad you asked. I have been a regular for years. On this visit, the waiter brought 2 10 ounce steaks when we ordered a ten and 14 ounce and billed incorrectly. The fire alarm went off and half the place left without paying. We stayed for our meal and ate with 40 minutes of a blasting siren. No courtesy was offered. Very unprofessional. Will NOT RETURN.
10/17/2017 Mother-in-laws 87th Birthday, everything was gong fine then all of a sudden a fire alarm went off. Many people left the restaurant without paying their bills. Apparently this had a negative affect on the Manager (female with blonde hair, relatively young). We stayed through the alarm and when we were leaving, the “Manager” accused my wife of cursing her, which she would never do, then she said she was going to call the Police.
I think the lose of revenue negatively affected this young Managers judgement. She seemed to have no feelings for the fact that this was a special occasion for our family, and rather than offering something to make up for the problem that neither she, nor any patron had any control over, she decided to argue with my wife, and threaten her with calls to the Police.
Though as far as we know, the Police were never contacted, this is not how a restaurant manager should act. As a result we will never return to this restaurant, and recommend that if a problem such as a fire alarm occurs to other patrons in the future, they should just leave without paying the bill, rather than chancing contact with this ridiculous Incompetent Manager.
Went with neighbors for weekday dinner. Sat outside, no view but nice weather was enjoyable. Service was below par. Waiter served food and the French fries were cold, asked for warm fries, never saw the waiter again. Had to get up and find ketchup, and go inside to get the bill. So service was nonexistent. Food, overall ok, just ok. So if you can suffer bad service and so so food this is your favorite spot. This is my second visit and had similar experience last time. Doubtful I will return again.
the food was very tasteless. chicken was hard, steak was chewy and wasn't grilled, at least it didn't taste like it was grilled. the shrimp scampi was very blah, and the scallops were really very tasteless. I think we need a new chef here. I must say the Crab Cakes were really good. Maybe they came like that? were they frozen and premade? very disappointed.
My grandson said the steak was not good and did not compare to the Okeechobe Steak House $300 for dinner and was disappointed. the string beans were hard, mashed potatoes were watery but the sweet potato fries were good.
We took an employee and her husband here for a celebration dinner. The server was very nice and not intrusive, and also understood and met all my needs as a vegan. Everyone enjoyed their food, which was very tasty and nicely presented. I often suggest this place since it never disappoints. I was surprised I could make a reservation which was important to us.
