Village Tavern Birmingham Ratings and Reviews
The dressing was bland. Not a lot effort put there. The service was good. First time we had to use salt and pepper to have any flavor whatsoever. Was not worth what we paid. My first complaint on this site. Ever.
Very tasty meal and such a beautiful dining area. Prices were fair and the service was most excellent. Definately will be going back again and plan to make one of my regulars!
My family went to celebrate Valentine's Day without the maddening crowd! It worked! My only complaint is it appears the recipe for the calamari changed and contains peanuts which is a major turnoff. I also wish the bread service was offered by the servers rather than needing to be requested.
Perfect choice for Valentine's Day! Wait staff are always knowledgeable on wine pairings and steaks are outstanding. Love our dinners at Village Tavern!
Had a great dinner with some girlfriends for Valentine’s Day! We sat down right at our reservation time, and had such a good time. Our meals were delicious, and our desserts were even better! Definitely recommend the butter cake ! Carly was our server and she was great!!
We always really enjoy this restaurant. It’s relaxed and reasonably priced, but the food and service are first rate. The menu is strong. When my wife asked about a favorite dish deleted from this menu, the server made it happen. He got things done for us. Great night.
This wasn't my first dining experience and like all the others it didn't disappoint. The food was phenomenal and the service was great! I definitely recommend and I will be back.
The food was very tasty, the waitress was attentive and the portions were ample.
We ale=way enjoy going to there. Looking forward to our next visit.
We were very happy with the Village Tavern. The food was very tasty and service was great. We didn't have to wait for our food, but we weren't rushed in any way. A very good experience.
We go there alot, this was a birthday celebration and we all enjoyed our choices of food except the birthday boy, my husband. He got the grits and meatballs to try something different. He said the grits were watery and not very much, and the white topping was not very good. I am assuming that was the cheese... but everything else was very good.
Noisy. Food was okay. Omelette pretty good flavor but over cooked. Take away all carbs for gluten free but add nothing to replace and charge same price! Bacon, egg cheese sandwich was bad. Only two small pieces of bacon. Not going back.
Village Tavern is a favorite for when family or friends come into town. Great food and a wide menu so everyone is happy!
Great service & food. Only recommendation I have is ......when making reservation for Fridays or weekend ....Speed the sitting process up
Could have been better. Celiac guest received gluten items (two) although she specified the issue clearly. Server was short and replaced the order but the replacement was bad - poached eggs undercooked and water covered the bottom of the plate making everything soggy. Two other guests were satisfied but underwhelmed with the experience. We won’t be back.
The restaurant is ALWAYS good! The servers and all of the staff are excellent.
Was quite disappointed in the quality of food. Prime rib ordered was not cooked as requested nor was it seasoned. Too bland and over cooked. My daughter’s cheeseburger that she ordered was ver well over done and harder than a brick. I wouldn’t give it to our dog. The Canadian bacon on the eggs benedict was ham, not Canadian bacon. Decor needs updating and perhaps a good steam cleaning. Table tops were sticky.
This was not the Billage Tavern I visited 2 years ago and feel it is going down hill, which is very sad as I use to frequent this place.
Food is always great. We eat here often. Hot crab dip is awesome. Today our service was not up to par however we have never experienced it like it was today. They even reported to Open Table that we did not show for our reservation. We were actually 10 minutes early but waited long past our reservation time. I finally asked how much longer we would have to wait and were finally seated but waited another 5-10 minutes before any wait staff approached our table.
Our server seemed preoccupied and we don't not recipe the regular service of warm break until our meal was served and I had to ask the server for it. Service was below par from what I expected and was the first visit for one of my guests.
We went for mine and my son's birthday. Service was GREAT! Food was all great but one dish was on the "light side" (Colorado Chicken - very small serving). All in all we enjoyed it very much!!
Excellent as always. Great food, service and environment. The location at the Summit is handy for a little shopping as well. It has become a favorite of mine and business associates as well.
Always good selection of good food. You cannot go wrong by stopping in and having a meal with family or friends.
The scallops were delicious but we did not enjoy the shrimp and grits so much. Just something about having to chew the grits (testure) that we did not enjoy. Also, the ceiling across from our table was leaking water. There was a bucket on the table but it definitely took away from the ambiance. Thanks.
My brunch was GREAT! My service was very nice and knowledgeable! The scheduling staff was quite accommodating. I brought my team and it was their 1st visit and they seemed to enjoy their food.
