Village Tavern Alpharetta Ratings and Reviews
Village Tavern isn't consistence in there preparation of their food. Sometime you go there and we walk out saying now that was a 5 star experience. Everything was delicious from the warm bread, delicious salad and topping it off with a enjoyable entree. Our most recent visit wasn't like that, we walked out saying the big Mac would have been better. Our wedge salad was delicious but our entree onion and mushroom burger had only the dried burger and cold fries. Apparently the chefs were too busy to complete the entree properly. Go there on a different evening other than a Saturday and you will ENJOY your dinner and not walk away like we just did.
Serve was excellent He recommended the special which was Salmon with crabcake. Sounded good - but it was very expensive and just so-so. Mashed potatoes were cold. I didn't complain - because I don't want to be THAT person, but I do feel we really overpaid for the meal. Next time, I'll just order the old standbys off the menu.
Service was slow especially trying to pay our bill and get credit card back, and there was an item on our bill we did not order. Fortunately we caught it but I thought the waiter was a bit blase about it. The food was very good though and we will still come back.
I chose this restaurant for the variety of menu items as we had an electric group who ranged from healthy to comfort food and in between. So I knew everyone could find something. However, with a menu this large, I am not sure there are any stand out items. Though the burger I had was delicious, (hormone and antibiotic free to boot).
Disappointed with this last visit to Village Tavern. Ordered the Shrimp Risotto, Shrimp was ok, but Risotto was way overcooked, almost like a paste, and Risotto flavor was just lackluster. Also ordered a Gastropub burger, ordered the burger to have a pink center, and it arrived way overcooked.
I don't know if I will go back, food was disappointing.
Ambiance is great, one of the strong points of this restaraunt. Drinks were spot-on and the food was well prepared and the temperatures were perfect.
Our server was good when he c wss with us but seemed to be stretched a bit thin, so there were times when we went for a pretty good stretch of time without seeing him. Not a big negative impact but it wss noticeable.
We will be back.
Menu is varied and good. We were there on a Wed. night 1/2 price wine so it was very busy and very loud.
The booths are very cozy but atmosphere was so loud. Tom and I both had burgers which were good and a decent value. Our service was excellent even though it was so busy.
I always have phenomenal service here, and everyone always likes their food. However, this waitress seemed to have an attitude with us (my companion commented on it as well). She was not around much, and seemed irritated that we wanted dessert--she didn't ask, she was ready to bring the bill and we had to say no, we would like dessert. We ordered entrees, appetizers, and dessert, so not like we weren't spending any money, but felt like we were a bother.
