Service was bad. We were seated right away but a waitress did not come by for at least 10 minutes after we sat down. Drink order took longer than normal to be delivered. Ordered she crab soup that was thick and coagulated. Burrata was dried out. Saffron orzo was bland. Cheesecake was terrible. No flavor.
Filet Mignon was perfect!! Service was great!! I’d definitely go back.
Great pork chops. Great service. Enjoyed it. It was a great start to our trip.
Again, service was very poor and food was average at best.
Our service was not good and it seemed they were way understaffed. Host that seated me got me very excited about the scallops pasta dish and said I should order right away as sometimes they run out. Our server took at least 10 minutes to show up at our table and promptly told us they were out of scallops. Everything from there seemed downhill. Grilled oysters were the highlight of our food. She crab bisque was so thick it was almost like a gravy (We lived in Charleston for 18 years so we know what it should taste and look like!) My fish had more skin than fish and the "lemon buerre blanc" had no flavor at all. What was supposed to be "herb potatoes" had no herbs and I had to ask for a salt shaker. There was one medium sized whole potato with a little crust on it and a couple of "potato skins". For $38 I was truly disappointed. Only ate about 1/3 of it and all server asked was if I wanted a box, which I declined. Other entree was my husband's "Chef's Estate Cut", which was just okay. We turned down dessert based on experience to that point. The shining star of the evening was my husband's cocktail expertly made by bartender Eric - something called "George's Smoked Old Fashioned"! I have never written a review like this and I'm sad to say I will not return here or recommend to friends.
Service was the biggest issue that made the experience bad.
Great food and service. Outside dining was delightful.
We had a great lunch here as always. Everything was cooked perfectly and the service was 5 stars
Our meals were very good, waitstaff very knowledgeable and helpful, ambiance ok inside, felt like we were in a hotel lobby but we will definitely go back as it may be a sign of the times. Overall good dining experience.
Food was amazing!!! Abby our waitress was super top shelf served super kind & very attentive!
Was very disappointed with our experience at the Village Social. The Food and service were terrible! Our appetizer came out with the sauce, it was very salty and lack flavor. Both our entrees were awful! The seafood in the frog more stew was over cooked and rubbery, lobster would not come out of the shell and it was tasteless. The scallops were under cooked and the linguine sauce had so much goat cheese that was all you could taste.
The wait staff came to our table 3 times during our meal! We kept looking around for her and she was nowhere around. They were not busy ... the dinning room was only 50% full!
Also upsetting were Hotel guest walking right through the dining room to exit out to the shops! Carrying suitcases and bags walking between the tables with their children! For a meal that was almost $150 and the only decent thing being the cocktail it not a good experience!
We have eaten at 4 other Biltmore restaurants and it was alway a good experience.... this was NOT! Never again!
Wonderful dining experience. Service was good. Food was excellent. Will definitely be back.
We were surprised not to like the Village Social - but unfortunately the food was sub-par. We each got a steak. Both were unevenly cooked, and one was very overcooked. The cocktail and food prices are high for the quality, and unfortunately our waitress didn't check on us between dropping off the food and coming back well after we were finished - no chance to give feedback or order anything else. The highlight of the evening was the salad appetizer - I give props to the crew for the amazing combination of flavors and textures it had!
Wonderful experience as always at the Biltmore and restaurants.
Fabulous seafood dishes
A bit noisy
All of our party were very pleased
We brought our family of 8: our grandchildren, our grown children and us for lunch there after touring the gardens.
Each one of us found our lunches to be delicious!!!
I have an allergy to all citrus, and our server was careful to make certain my selection had none!!! One person is vegetarian and she had choices and found her selection to be excellent!
Our server was attentive, but not at all intrusive! Our drinks were quickly served and she was attentive throughout lunch to make sure we had all we needed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time there at Village Social and look forward to returning!!! Thank you!!!
My wife and I stopped for lunch while at the Biltmore estate. It is located a significant distance from the house in Antler Hill Village. It was not very crowded when we were there on a Tuesday. The crab cake sandwiches we ordered were very good. Service was fine.
We came on a Tuesday afternoon during our day trip to Biltmore and loved everything about it.
I started with the arugula salad, and it was so delicious. My husband got the she crab soup. Then we split a lobster roll and fries.
He also got the Honeymooner cocktail and it was so delicious! I could have stolen all of his drink even though my wine was good.
We will not hesitate to come back on future visits.
Service was excellent!! Rebekah our server was a doll! Food and drinks where great! Really enjoyed the fried green tomatoes!
The starters, fried green tomatoes and Brussels sprouts, were very good, but the steak was tough and overcooked, although the potatoes and asparagus were very good. Our waitress was great and offered to get another meal, but the place was closing, which probably was the reason the steak was poor. Oh well.
Nothing special, which was surprising giving the notion of spectacular service Biltmore advertises and prides itself on. Our waitress disappeared for long durations. The food was good but less than I would expect for the high price. The atmosphere was superb!
Difficult to reserve, service was poor, food was bad and prices were high.
The food was delicious (especially the shrimp and grits!), and the staff was very careful to take my husband's food allergies into consideration, making sure they special made his food accordingly.
The service was too notch and the food was really good. We had fried green tomatoes with lobster salad and then we split the scallops and pasta.
I had a sazarac cocktail and she had a dirty chai cocktail. Both were excellent and lasted us the meal.
Our main complaint was that it was very cold which meant that we were uncomfortable and the food cooled off quickly. The shrimp and grits were very good!
Food average, service acceptable, social distancing B
A fun lunch place with interesting pictures of Biltmore history throughout.
Village Social is a run-of-the-mill hotel gastropub. It excels at being on Biltmore property and is a much better experience than trying to eat at the Carriage House tourist cafés. Good bar.
The mussels were amazing! Monkfish was the catch of the day and was excellent. Substitutions for dietary restrictions were not any issue.
We were here for Valentine’s Day. The food was amazing. Would highly recommend. The service was also phenomenal. Would definitely recommend for a romantic/nice dinner. The room is quite a bit open and a little louder than expected.
The service and atmosphere was amazing. The food was good and tasty. We had dinner twice the weekend we stayed at the Biltmore. The more expensive items were underwhelming, the cheaper items were the best. Try the crusted chicken or shrimp & grits these dishes were perfect. The pot roast and lobster was an odd combination, the lobster prices were different. Really they would have done better setting a lobster tall on top of the pot roast. The ribeye was a large piece of meat, but way too fatty even for ribeye. Hope this helps and Bon Appétit!
The food and cocktails were excellent. As was our waitress MK. My only complaint was the noise level with one little loud boy standing on his chair and crying.
The service was outstanding! The Valentines Day dinner for two was a little heavy on the fat/carb side. Scallops were excellent and steak well prepared. Lobster Mac/cheese pn the heavy side. We would have preferred a salad or vegetable if a substitute had been available. Also choice of appetizer was VERY limited! BUT WHAT MADE THE EXPERIENCE OUTSTANDING WAS THE SERVICE!
Great little place! Food and service was excellent. I recommend it, and will be going back.
Our server was great and the food was great, but I was a little disappointed it wasn’t decorated for Valentine’s Day. Not as romantic as we’d hoped.
It was all good. Server and food was all excellent.
My daughter and I were there for Valentine’s Day. The food and the service was exceptional. The ambiance / atmosphere is ok. We wanted to go to the Bistro for some reason it has been closed and has yet to re-open.
My cousin had his first Biltmore experience. We had lunch first at the Village Social, he had shrimp and grits..LOVED IT! My classic burger was delicious 😋! Always a great experience..staff was wonderful and attentive. Everyone was wearing masks and social distancing. Very nice lunch!
Beautiful setting outside on the rare warm day. Tables were spaced 20 feet apart. Perfect timely service. Food very tasty and nicely presented. Only disappointment was one of the two bowls of soup was hot and the other barely warm. Otherwise a lovely lunch.
