We were staying at the Village Hotel, so it was very convenient. The service (attentive and congenial), the food (risotto with salmon, frogmore stew), and the wine (reserve chardonnay) were great! We ate outside on a perfect Friday evening, and the live music (folk/bluegrass) was a welcome accompaniment. We would not hesitate to recommend and to return.
The menu led us to believe they had a wide variety of seafood selections, there were not many to choose from.
We were 7 for a birthday celebration. Upon arrival, despite it being crowded, our table was ready and we were sat immediately.
Our server was excellent, explaining the menu items and beverage choices. He was on top of out order and seemingly always present.
The wine prices were quite fair, averaging $20/bottle markup over retail. We chose a Biltmore rose champagne followed by a red blend, The Hunt. Both were very good and enjoyed by all.
Our starters included the Burrata and Feta cheese salads, both excellent. We also shared the mussels, crab cake and biscuit appetizers. All were quite yummy. We also shared the beer battered Brussels sprouts and chick pea salads, both surprisingly beyond expectations. We all agreed we would order all the appetizers again.
We’re we’re getting full, so we ordered 4 mains to share:
1) Pork chop over local beans was very good but we all felt the beans were too salty. They were left over. The pork chop was totally gone and very well grilled
2) Shrimp and grits were excellent. Well flavored sauce, perfect grits and fresh crunchy succulent shrimp.
3) Seafood stew also quite good. We felt the shrimp could have been larger sized. The fresh corn niblets added a lot of texture and was a nice twist.
4) Vegetarian Orzo with mushrooms and leeks quite excellent.
Dessert choices included the brownie and vanilla ice cream, very well done because of the perfect ratio of brownie size to ice cream. We also had the dulce de leche cheese cake, which disappeared within seconds.
Overall, we agreed we would return again to try other menu choices. Having the live music made the experience even better.
When I made reservation I requested a table where we could enjoy the music; i also shared that we were celebrating a birthday. Apparently this info did not make it to the host. The steak was tough the pork chop was dry; presentation was colorless. The waitress was very nice when we both ordered salads to go with our meal, she suggested we split 1 salad instead as the salads are large. She was right! The salad was the best part of the meal; crab cake was also good. Food was way overpriced for the quality. The pork BBQ sandwich we had for lunch (at the Market) made for a much better meal!
Excellent service, amazing food, wonderful surroundings on the beautiful Biltmore Estate. Loved it!
We had a wonderful evening. Will return again, Thankyou.
Lovely outdoor lunch. Shrimp & grits were outstanding. Riesling was very good. I just wish I had received credit for this dining experience as it appears that I have not to date.
Village Social-Biltmore Estate provided a good selection of meal options. Both my wife and I were able to find choices we were interested in. My choice happened to come with a special jelly that I was not personally interested in. The waitress ensured that it was brought out on the side so I could try it without risk to my meal if I did not care for it. The waitress checked on us regularly without being a pain. We choose to eat outside where we enjoyed a nice view and breeze. Overall, a very enjoyable meal and surroundings.
Overall it was a good experience, the negative was we waited 40 min on our food the steak was great but the burger was nothing to write home about.
Kevin the musician was Amazing so we stayed until he finished. My wife ordered a drink and they had to pull the recipe up online and she said it was so strong she couldn’t drink it. ( the drink was on the menu so we felt the should have the recipe).
Sunday lunch very good, server was great! Burger & fries & slaw rock!
Village Social was a nice experience. Although it was a bit noisy, we were still able to carry on a conversation. The orzo my wife had was outstanding with the wild mushrooms greatly enhancing the flavor. Would definitely recommend!
What’s not to love about this place? It’s beautiful; there is so much to do, food is great, and there is wine.
Food was okay, my server did not care for us, it was obvious when there was a table next to us where she spent her time. we waited 15 minutes to get our check.won't attend again. I am a pass holder and love the Bistro and Deerpark. Did tower leave a generous tip.
We have stayed at the Village Inn and that is how we found out about Village Social. It is now our go-to restaurant on the Estate whether we stay at the hotel or not. We enjoy the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant. We are always able to get a reservation there because it is out of the way. I’m sure this will change as more people discover this wonderful restaurant.
My husband and I spent the whole day there at Antler Hill celebrating our 16 year anniversary. We actually ate at two of the restaurants on the property and the Village Social was our favorite!!!
Although the food was good, the prices are high and the menu choices are the same every night. There are no specials so if you are staying in the hotel, the choices are limited.
While everything in Biltmore is top notch, I felt Social Village was too much like any other hotel restaurant. The atmosphere and ambiance was very hotel like. For the price of the fare and given that it was Biltmore Estate I was dissatisfied.
The atmosphere in Village Social is warm and inviting. Every member of the wait staff was complementary! The food was wonderful!! We ate here for breakfast and dinner. The blueberry pancakes where divine and the ribeye was delicious!
Food was excellent. Wide variety of food on the menu. Very pleasant wait staff. Nice ambiance.
The restaurant was very beautiful and created a nice atmosphere. The food was delicious, but not special. I am from New Orleans where there is plenty of real good food from all kinds of cultures so I am a little bias on my food critique. I have a high bar standard for quality good food. The only issue was our waitress who seemed to have an attitude or personal issue going on because she did not make us feel comfortable or welcomed. She did not know her menu or products that were sold at the restaurant when we asked questions about the pork chops and if the restaurant served mineral water. She was rude in her response like we were insulting her for asking the questions. When I asked if she had Pellegrino, she said yes. Pellegrino is sparkling mineral water and she told us that she did not know if the restaurant had mineral water. I enjoyed my trip to Biltmore, but it would have been exceptional if she had been more hospitable. I would recommend a different line of work for her that does not involve working with customers.
Crab bisque was excellent, creamy with plenty of crab. Shrimp cocktail was ample in size and tender. Served chilled in large bowl of crushed ice with good presentation. Arugala salad had fresh blackberries and strawberries with a light lemon vinaigrette. Was very pleased other than the food was brought too close together before the previous course was finished. Better too fast than too slow!
I have enjoyed The Village Social several times over the years it's been open (my son works there) and I knew it was the right choice for a special Mother's Day with a friend. The food is always excellent. The staff are very nice. Thank you for always being a wonderful place to enjoy a special meal.
Disappointing. The service was good, but it was very noisy and the food was just fair. My wife's chicken was good, but my pork chop was dry and came with only some rather bland lentil-type bean.
As a local, we have dined many times at the Village Social and Cedric’s. The food at both places does not disappoint, and while the atmosphere at both is different, the quality is excellent. I have had the scallop appetizer and have enjoyed it every time and my husband has the seafood dinner with the assortment of various seafood. We had the veggie burger and beef burger respectively this evening and enjoyed those also.
Great food and service. If you're interested in a quiet dinner, the Bistro might be a better fit.
We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Would be nice to have spent more time in the area but felt rushed getting on the property so late.
Impeccable service and extremely accommodating. Allowed my dining partner and I to split two items even separately plating the food for us. Burger was delicious as was the crab cake. Lovely atmosphere, quiet enough to visit.
Enjoyed the seafood fondue appetizer. I had scallops as an entree and they were cooked perfectly. But the best part was the "Beekeeper" cocktail! Absolutely delicious!
Enjoyed being there. Would highly recommend it to others.
Would prefer a wider food selection but always enjoy coming here for Sunday brunch
Always good food. I love their small plates and sharables. Great Brussels sprouts. Can be noisy on weekends so prefer going during the week.
I ordered the mushroom orzo. It was overly salty. The server was very sweet and accommodated me with a new plate which was not salty but filled with pepper. I didn’t enjoy it.
We enjoyed our meals very much. The food and service was just great! Our meals came quickly
and they were prepared just as we requested. Our service was perfect. With everyone making sure
that everything was to our wishes. A very enjoyable experience.
I went for my 26th birthday and the food was amazing.
Very nice fish stew and nice light and fresh desert
My husband has sodium dietary restrictions, our waiter asked intelligent questions then went back to the chef to inquire how they could accommodate us. The staff went over and above to make our meal interesting, flavorful and yet meet his sodium restriction. Many restaurants use so much processed food that they cannot meet his restrictions.
Terrible food. Service okay but food was the worst ever. Mushy grits in a weird sauce. Frogman stew is tasteless. The only good things to eat we’re the sparkling wine, cheddar biscuits and dessert. Skip this restaurant!
The wait staff was friendly, service was prompt, and overall the food was delicious! I think the price was a bit much, however such is anything pertaining to Biltmore.
Do yourself a favor and get something, anything with the bourbon bacon onion jam on it! Soooooo good!
The overall experience at Village Social was not good. It is a pretty place but the food was not good and the service was just awful. Please try to work on this as it is a lovely place and we would love to come back.
