Absolute gem! A wonderful setting and lovely surroundings. Unique restaurant that’s a true treat to visit. Food is fabulous. Drinks were expertly prepared. A restaurant to have on your “go to” list. Comfy casual with great service.
Everything was amazing! Our server was wonderful..our food delicious ❤️. We sat on the patio…it was perfect!
Mother/Daughter brunch and it was just great. We keep coming back because the customer service is always spectacular and the food was wonderful.
We're glad you've picked us for your mother/daughter brunches. See you soon!
Jason did a great job and made our dinner such a fun night!!
Jason is definitely great. Thanks for having dinner with us!
Always a great meal at the Village Anchor
We frequent for brunch on the weekends or a date night. Food and atmosphere is great.
Robert, Thanks for choosing The Anchor for your brunches & date nights! See you soon!
The pork chop was excellent and John was fantastic as our server.
Our 49th Anniversary
A 49th wedding anniversary - wow! Congratulations, & thank you for celebrating such a special day with us!
Thank you Shannon!!!
Great food and great service!
We take our grandchildren to lunch,to new places, they had never been there. They loved it!
It’s been awhile since we’ve been, but our favorite dishes have changed recipes and not for the better.
The Bloody Mary was not garnished in any way.
The Green Chili Wontons were clearly not made fresh. The wedge salad was overloaded with too many mismatched toppings. And the shrimp and grits were drowning in a yellow sauce that I’ve never seen before. The sausage was not of the same quality.
We always liked how our check came tucked away in an old penny novel. That small touch was missed.
However our servers were excellent and to be commended.
I am so sorry to hear you had a less than excellent meal with us. We really pride ourselves on providing one of a kind experiences accompanied by some of the best food in Louisville. It seems like we dropped the ball here. Could you possibly reach out to me directly at brae.cunliffe@bellenoblecom so that we can make this up to you?
It’s was extremely humid outside where they sat us with over a 2 week reservation I wasn’t impressed by the heat and it was extremely loud. I order filet steak and it wasn’t.
We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we lucked into the manager filling in for an employee and was able to meet and talk with him. He gave us a free dessert for coming to celebrate there. The food was great and huge portions for your money. I had the fried chicken and it came with the biggest mound of yummy mashed potatoes and my spouse had the fish and chips.
The food and atmosphere was perfect!
However the receipt prices didn’t reflect the menu prices. We had pork chop entree, shrimp & grits and each had a drink. The total was $200–way more than expected.
Kristen, I am glad to hear you enjoyed your meal. I am concerned that your receipt did not match the menu. Would it be possible for you to reach out to me directly at email@example.com? I would love to get this rectified for you.
Great! It was a great atmosphere for my birthday.
It was extremely hot, but they had fans everywhere so it was comfortable eating outside. Our server was very good, and the food was excellent. My only complaint was I ordered the scallops ($44, one of the most expensive items on the menu), and they would not substitute grits for the risotto that sits under the scallops. They have shrimp & grits, so they did have the grits. Maybe thats picky, but I think for that price for 4 scallops, they could have been more accommodating. This is not a chain restaurant !
Enjoyed our dinner. Sat on the patio in the shade. Though a bit humid, we were comfortable. Meals tasted great and the service was prompt and attentive without being overbearing. Would recommend.
We're glad to hear you enjoyed your dinner with us! We hope to see you again soon.
Great service & great food - as always! Thanks!!!
Bob, we're happy to see you had a five star dining experience with us! Thank you for choosing to return to the Village Anchor.
Beautiful venue. Porch and patio seating are quiet and shaded.
Menu was extensive with many delights. Service was excellent.
Be sure to check out the bar.
Kathy, Thank you for choosing the Village Anchor! We're so happy to see you enjoyed your time with us, & hope to see you again soon.
My husband and I went for a date night. I always have the scallops and they did not disappoint. My husband had the fish special and was not a huge fan. It had way too much rosemary and he likes rosemary just fine. We were shocked to discover it was 50.00. He wishes he had stuck with his usual shrimp and grits. Other than that we had a lovely evening and will be back again.
Thanks for choosing the Anchor for your date night! We're sorry your husband didn't enjoy the special, but we hope to see you again soon.
Service was fair, celebrating a birthday. We ordered the birthday dessert but it never came.
We're sorry to hear your birthday dessert never came. Please let us know & we will rectify this upon your return.
Birthday dinner. Wonderful service and food as always. It can be extremely noisy. Particularly on the porch.
The Village Anchor never disappoints. The food, ambiance, and service is consistently excellent. The whole experience is understated but exceptional.
With a reservation, we were seated outdoors on a hot evening. Even though tables were open inside I was not asked a preference as to seating inside or out. The excessive heat did not make for a fully enjoyable experience. I would hope as a courtesy the staff would ask where the customer would like to sit.
Our food was ok at best. It came out super fast and did not seem fresh.
Food, wait staff excellent as always! Nick at the bar took excellent care of us!!!!!
Service was very slow, but food was delicious when we finally got waited on!
Updated: my review has been updated because the manager reached out and appears to have resolved the issue with outdoor vs. indoor seating when making reservations via Open Table. I appreciate them addressing what caused the issue.
Great place for any occasion. Great food and staff. I recommend the lower level outdoor seating. Very relaxing environment.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner with drinks. Always a great place to dine.
Great outdoor patio seating!!! Friendly server & wonderful food!
We had a great time!! Food was excellent and service was superb!
Thank you Shannon!!!
I absolutely love the outdoor patio with its huge tree - a perfect place to relax with friends on a summer day. The food lives up to the ambience.
Portions were perfect. Flavor was exquisite. Value was excellent. And atmosphere was wonderful. Great dining experience.
Great Father’s Day dinner
