The Village Anchor offers a unique setting in Louisville’s east end, both for personal and professional occasions. The Village Anchor Restaurant and Anchor Bar on the main floor bring together stone, red leathers, rich worn velvets, wrought iron, dark woods, Italian appointments, Carrera marble, and the original crimson red beer taps from Churchill Down’s Silks Bar. It offers an upscale-casual, fun environment with an inimitable European flavor and exotic French flair. The lower level Sea Hag Pub offers a completely different look and feel. The “Hag” brings together brick, worn woods, hand-wrought iron, stone, and copper. The 30-foot copper bar with built-in ice troughs chill your favorite brew or wine.

It was a great night. Good food, fantastic server, Jenna, & received a Happy Birthday cake to take home. For an older person, it was noisy, but as the crowd left, it was better.

Our table was in a very awkward location with minimal wiggle room. This table was tucked into a small window nook and was quite uncomfortable. The price of most drinks seemed a bit much for the restaurant ambiance. The food was terrific but it was hard to be comfortable at our table and we were right next to the front door so we were hit with cold temperatures and constant traffic the entire night.

We frequent this establishment for its quaint atmosphere and random dinner specials. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Any dish on the menu has ample amount of serving and taste seem consistent throughout the years we have been coming. It’s really nice to see this place grown and expand, especially the outdoor garden/bistro area.

Outdoor patio is crowded and it’s hard to even get between the tables. Quiet and quaint place in Louisville that is great for date nights if you can sit inside. Mimosas are $1 on Sunday’s, but only honor it if you walk downstairs to the hag, they’re $7 upstairs.

My lady and I absolutely love the Anchor. We love it so much, that we call it ‘our place’. The restaurant has history for us and if you go, you’ll never, ever have anything but a wonderful experience. It is a guaranteed home run.

We had reservations for 12:30 for brunch. I had a guest in from out of town and he had the egg sandwich. He commented that it was one of the best sandwiches he had ever had! All of our meals were delicious, the ambiance is fantastic and the server was great! An awesome experience overall.

Great place for lunch with friends after visiting a local distillery. The unique menu choices let us have a taste of Kentucky, and every item our group of five ordered was delicious! The service was fun, friendly and fast. Highly recommend!

Had a relaxing lunch date here with some colleagues and we sat outside, had a lovely meal we all got the $20 lunch special which gave us a soup/salad/sandwich combo. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the wine was half off on Wednesday’s which made it even better! Will definitely come back for another lunch or dinner date! Great area of town too! Only negative was we had bees that kept coming around us and our food but our server Stephanie gave us some fans for the table to help.

The Village Anchor has always been a favorite of mine but I was a little disappointed this evening. Our appetizer was fantastic - roasted Brussel sprouts came to the table piping hot and they were delicious! Our entrees were ok. We each ordered the meatloaf burger - and they arrived to the table lukewarm, and the fries and mashed potatoes were downright cold. Very disappointing. Service was off too - seemed like our waiter forgot about us. Oh well.

Good service and good food. Noise level was high resulting in some difficulty in conversation. Some of us were wearing hearing aids which are especially sensitive to ambient noise.

Great spot for a romantic dinner or a business dinner. Varied menu with something for everyone. The appetizers are very good too. The lower floor enclosed patio seating was very nice. The bourbon drink menu is extensive. The fried derby pie was to die for! They don't have decafe coffee though. Very strange.
