The Village Anchor offers a unique setting in Louisville’s east end, both for personal and professional occasions. The Village Anchor Restaurant and Anchor Bar on the main floor bring together stone, red leathers, rich worn velvets, wrought iron, dark woods, Italian appointments, Carrera marble, and the original crimson red beer taps from Churchill Down’s Silks Bar. It offers an upscale-casual, fun environment with an inimitable European flavor and exotic French flair. The lower level Sea Hag Pub offers a completely different look and feel. The “Hag” brings together brick, worn woods, hand-wrought iron, stone, and copper. The 30-foot copper bar with built-in ice troughs chill your favorite brew or wine.

10am Saturday morning brunch with the parents and we all had an incredible time! Had never been before and was very impressed. The associate GM came over to our table and chatted with us for about 5 minutes which was very cool. I need to try dinner soon!

Everything just keeps getting better and better. We love trying the new menu items and really enjoy being back to dining at the Village. Shannon is always amazing and anticipates what would make our evening just perfect every time we dine. I appreciate the the special touch Shannon always adds to my favorite French 75!!! It is also wonderful to see Chef Emily and we enjoy getting to know Rick, aka, the awesome manager!

My daughter and I had dinner together. We were seated right by the door and our table was in the way of everyone. The waiters and servers could barely squeeze by me and I had already moved my chair up as far as possible. It was ridiculous. Remove that table. It will also freeze you out as the door going outside is opened about every 30 seconds for the staff. Wow!

This was the first time we have been since they reopened for dinner after a short remodel. Hopefully the menu isn’t set yet as someone mentioned they are still testing it out. Several favorites have been removed and prices have been raised. The green Chile wontons were cold. Service and cocktails were amazing as usual.

We booked our reservation three weeks in advance on open table only to arrive and be told the restaurant was closing early. This is the second time we have made a reservation on Open Table and not had it honored (the last time we arrived and they said they didn’t have a record of our reservation-which I showed them on my app- then they scrambled and gave us a table in the SeaHag downstairs). I had joined several girlfriends for lunch just two days before and no waitress came to check on us or take our order for almost an HOUR!! We had to go find a waitress and ask to please come serve us! They apologized and took our order, saying they would “rush it” but still took almost half an hour to get our food (some gals had to leave to pick up children from school before finishing their meals). Get it together, Village Anchor! We live in Anchorage and love supporting our local restaurant, but don’t take my loyalty for granted!

Blaring lights on the patio felt like an interrogation room. Then they had the heat pumping right under our table so it was like sitting in an inferno. The bright lights and blazing furnace on us the whole dinner took away a lot from the nice food.

I want to start this off by saying the food and server (Alan) we had were nothing short of phenomenal… Me and my wife checked into our reservation 30 mins early expecting to have to wait no big deal, instead 1 of the 4 hostesses gave a nasty attitude and made sure to let us know we were sat too early and that our specific table was reserved for 7pm (2 hrs after we arrived) which made us feel rushed for the duration of our dinner. Instead of getting to enjoy the atmosphere we had a front row seat to the hostesses having an argument over who would go home, not only that on my way out as I was getting up and gathering my things the hostess trying to get by me before and wasn’t able to so she stood and gave me a glaring look. I understand I am not the quickest mover being an amputee, but I have never experienced such a lack of professionalism from a hostess staff in my years, it is a shame because our server (Alan) again was incredible! For the cost of this meal the least one can expect is to be greeted with kindness and respect, but unfortunately was not the which is disappointing.

A birthday get together was going on in the main dining area where we were sitting by the fireplace. A party of 8 My suggestion for the future is to put a birthday party in a more open area where the sound doesn’t travel so badly! This area is too small go that reservation! My husband and I couldn’t even talk.😩

We hadn’t been to The Anchor in a while. As a former Anchorage resident, I love the location, but this time our visit was not great. It may be because it was the evening after NYE, but the ambiance needs some work (lights too bright and tables too close). Bartender is great and very knowledgeable, staff was kind, but it just felt like they need to improve the food and overall vibe in dining room.
