Food was good, place is beautiful and Brad was a great server. Checked in at just the right times.
Village Anchor is small but intimate! Great place to eat and socialize as a group!
This restaurant never disappoints. The food is always delicious and the service is excellent.
Always a treat.
Thank you for a wonderful lunch and celebration for my friends birthday. You guys do it up right!
Cozy pub-like atmosphere, great service and food was very good!
Our server was top notch. I usually find the servers here are above your average customer service. Food is always fantastic no matter what you get. Serving size is big which is awesome since it’s obviously not the cheapest place to eat in town. I really feel like I get more than my money’s worth with the quality and amount of food I get. Highly recommend this place!
The wait staff was excellent, kind, and helpful but it took over an hour for our food, for a table of four, to be served.
Fabulous as always! Love to bring first time guests here.
Wonderfull ! I had the shrimp and grits, it was very very very delicious and the service was great as always. One of my favorite restaurants.
Wonderful brunch as usual. Great service and food!
I am a frequent lunch visitor, the dinner menu was not good at all. The atmosphere and service was horrible. When food arrived it wasn’t cooked correctly, took 20 mins to even get a server to the table. Spend $150 and we’re highly disappointed! I think I’ll stick with lunch and the chili!
Really good. Higly recommend it. Start with the desert. The carrot cake is to die for.
Food good. Wantons were not warm. Brussell sprout salad great.
Overall food and ambiance were nice. Service was not impressive and I was a little disappointed considering the hype around how great it is here.
Brunch menu is separate than dinner menu with different items, and when asked server did not respond as if it is an option, nor did they want to consider.
This was our first visit and probably our last. If you like the snobby vibe, this is your place. Plenty of other good restaurants in Louisville that treat you better.
My date and I had a great time at The Village Anchor. We went for brunch. I had the blue cheese biscuits with filet of beef. The biscuits were enormous, light, fluffy, and moist. They were some of the best biscuits I have had. The blue cheese flavor was not overwhelming for those who are not big fans of blue cheese. My date had the corned beef hash. The base of the hash is hash browns and it was so delicious. The two eggs over easy to top everything off were perfectly cooked. Unfortunately, it was “bring your dog to brunch day”, which I did not know. If I had known that, I would have gone another day. That was not ideal, but I still had a nice time. We done downstairs in the sea hag. It’s an outdoor patio covered with plastic walls. It kept the temperature very pleasant. Would absolutely visit again! $1 mimosas weren’t bad either!
It was a very cold evening. The heaters were turned on but they were set way too high. The temperature showed 83 degrees. We had dressed warmly because of the weather. We appreciate that there was heat but it needed to be controlled better.
Very nice and clean. Friendly staff. Very delicious food, absolutely delicious!! Good drinks from the bar. Will definitely be back and will recommend to all our friends!
Food was excellent! Our server was very nice but not as attentive as we have come to expect. Although we had reservations, we were seated at a table that was pulled away from another table so it was pretty snug. But did I mention the food was fantastic? The other things are honestly just minor annoyances.
The food is great- loved my dinner suggestion from my server Jason. Didn't get the friendliest vibe from the hostess. It's great food, but don't get super cocky and stuffy!
A wonderful evening of good food, prompt service in a most comfortable setting. A favorite place on my semi-annual visit to Louisville.
Amazing as always!
We had reservations for 4 and needed to be in and out fairly quickly. We let our server know of our time constraints and she was very prompt with everything, probably even sped up the kitchen for us! Everything was excellent! Our drinks were top notch and the food was wonderfully prepared. I wish I'd had more time to eat it slower and savor it all! Great experience and I'll definitely go back again.
We love the ambience, the food, and the superb service.
Village Anchor never fails to impress. Excellent bloody marys, brunch and service. I would always recommend reservations. They do a great business.
Got a bowl of spoiled fruit, sent it back and the replacement was still bad.
Always love the Village Anchor, it’s a must have each time we come to Louisville.
Everything went smoothly with the reservation and brunch. It was a semi-family reunion event with all my brothers and sister along with our father so a large crowd. The patio is heated so we were able to eat there and spend a lot of time socializing. It is a bit noisy there but not such that you can’t have conversations. The food was excellent with everyone enjoying their meal. Selection is diverse and able to accommodate both an allergy for one guest and a gluten free preference for another. Service was outstanding and attentive. Definitely a place we will visit for other meals and future similar occasions.
Be prepared to sit outside in the cold!
Our waitress wasn't very friendly. She was short with us and preoccupied. She didn't listen when we answered her questions and she just seemed rude. Food was good but overall was a disapointmenting experience
Had reservations at 5:45pm on a Wednesday night. Arrive at 5:40 and get seated immediately. Someone dropped off glasses of water and that was it for the next 15 min. Other people were seated and greeted by server and orders were taken....we just had water. I had to go back up to the front and ask to be served. When server came she was pleasant and nice and a good server. Food was good and priced about right. We like to go to the smaller independently owned places like this to support small business. They added an outdoor area where we were seated and given it was cold that night they had it decently comfortable. Overall, not a horrible place and we will return at some point.
Excellent location and one of my favorites in the Louisville market. friendly service, great food. I am a particular fan of their comfort food especially the Hotter Brown (a baked chicken casserole), but they do an excellent job on their fish that I have tried as well. A glass of their house pinot noir was acceptable and they serve a non-alcoholic beer (only one choice) for the days I am driving home. The setting is quaint near the tracks in a wooded area a few miles from civilization.
It was cold
We have eaten at The Village Anchor several times...food and service is always good. This last time, our table for four was in a corner(like an afterthought), practically on top of a two top and if the window was open, may have been easier to lean in to eat, no room to sit comfortably. We asked to be moved, but the restaurant was full. We made do, and had a lovely meal. We will still go back.
Always great food and service
Village Anchor one of my favorites. Never disappoints.
The food more than made up for the heavy traffic and crowdedness through the front dining room. This was a business dinner. At first, it seemed an issue, all of the foot traffic through that front room. But by the time we were served appetizers, our team seemed to loosen up and become a bit more at ease with the business of the area. By dinner, we were just fine with it. In the future, if I were to bring a business team here again, I would request an area where there is not so much foot traffic.
Great all the lighting upstairs is blinding and needs to be reduced with dimmers and softer bulbs
