Everything was great very good waitress
Lovely night out catching up with friends
Alan was fantastic as usual and the food was scrumptious!
I've only been to the Village Anchor a couple times, but both have been very nice experiences. I had the fish special, which was outstanding, but the person I was with had the vegetarian lasagna and was not thrilled. It had mostly a lot of ricotta cheese and very few vegetables. They were going to seat us in the back room but when requested the front, they accommodated us. Our server was busy but she had a coworker check on us, which I appreciated very much.
Service was very poor, waiter was MIA after order was finally taken, when we where about done he finally refilled my tea and then took forever getting back with my bill, it was so loud my friend and I could hardly hear each other and it was her first time there. The food was good and generous portions
Great atmosphere! Delicious food! We had trouble finding a parking place, so be prepared to drive around for few. Would definitely go back! :)
OK experience for being our first time at Village Anchor after hearing a lot of hype. Not used to getting soup/salad with the meal, but it was ok. Both meals were delicious, though filet and two small scallops hardly seemed to warrant a $53 price tag. Hot banana pudding was excellent!!! Chris, our waiter, was average, though he did step up when it became obvious no one knew who was waiting on us. I was a bit disappointed that he did not acknowledge our anniversary. Overall, I enjoyed the food, but will try many other restaurants on my list before going back.
Brunch with family, including 2 under 3yrs old. Hostess and server were very accommodating to our requests and food & drinks were great! We had reservation at 10am, but had an unusual bit of a wait for food, normally the wait time is minimal. We enjoy the restaurant each time we visit and will be back soon!
Lovely food, great atmosphere and service! Get the banana dessert!!
This is a wonderful restaurant. They exceed all expectations.
What a great place. The service was 5 star quality. We have been here twice; once for a romantic evening and the other with friends a. The atmosphere and service was awesome for both. The food is also great. Very interesting twist on the Louisville Hot Brown. Get there early and sit at the bar for a quick cocktail. Bar tenders will start your evening off with a smile, and I guaranty it will continue. I recommend this place to all adults.
Always great. All of Kevin’s restaurants are top notch!!
Great food! Good service. Friendly staff. The only thing I would say is disappointing is that while spending 100$ on a date night I was sitting 2 feet away from the table next to us. I like meeting new people but I’d like to not smell their breath in the process.
The very best food and drink and service!!! Thank you for having us again.
Great ambiance and atmosphere. Exactly what we were looking for - a quaint, unique restaurant for brunch with out-of-town friends. Menu was extensive for both breakfast and lunch fare. Some unique items. Food and service were excellent. A little noise when train came by, but very cozy by fire in sheltered outer room. Will visit again.
Every single thing we ordered was phenomenal! The atmosphere and decor is unique, the staff attentive, the food amazinggggg! We will definitely return sooner rather than later!!
One of our group wanted the vegetable lasagna, but was told not to order it, because half are sent back. Huh??
The room was hot, then later cold.
The fried chicken, and the hir browns were delicious.
Our server was not very attentive. I ordered a hot tea and he brought out a tea caddy that contained only herbal teas. I asked if they had any black teas - like an english breakfast or earl grey. he came back later and said no. I was so surprised and shocked by this that we when I placed my food order I forgot to specify how I wanted my bacon prepared. ( I only like it if it is really crispy or well done). My bacon was too limp and I could not eat it but he didn't return until we were almost finished with our meal - and it was too late to send back at that point. I took it home to cook some more and eat later!
About 20 minutes after being told they did not have any black teas, a customer at the table next to me ordered hot tea. Her server asked what type she would like and she said a breakfast tea - which was then brought to her. I wished I had her server!
Great food & great service! You won’t be disappointed:) my husband’s favorite is the Brussel sprout salad !
Great service. Food was very good a little pricey but great
We loved the restaurant; the staff were friendly and attentive, lovely time. We had the fried chicken which was superb! Loved the atmosphere and we will definitely be back soon.
Great food & service, as always!
Had dinner at the Village Anchor for our anniversary. Took 20 minutes to actual get a server, and when we finally tracked one down, he was practically nonexistent... or maybe we were nonexistent? Food and drinks were great, but they should have been met with a level of customer service. Unfortunately, the customer service was lacking and frankly disappointing.
Enjoyed the fireplace warmth enjoyed the scallops and the green fried wontons the 3 cheese macaroni; it was my wife's 64th birthday and waiter brought her a chocolate hot fudge cake with ice cream with a candle on it at no charge. Was a nice evening.
The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about both the food and alcohol served here. It has a lot of local character, we loved it.
Brunch is pricey but yummy. $1 mimosa's only available downstairs (a/k/a "Sea Hag") (waistress doesn't clarify when you order).
I love the Village Anchor, it’s one of my favorite places! The ambiance is amazing and the menu has so many unique options. We were seated very near another table though, and this has happened when I’ve been there before, it’s a little crowded. If that keeps the wait times down though I’ll deal with it!
Great place to have a drink but the food was so salty it was hardly edible. In fact, the collard greens were inedible.
Favorite restaurant in Louisville
Excellent service. Friendly staff, great vibe. Food was excellent! The CAB Filet was a very tender cut of meat. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Loved everything about it as always. Scallops were to die for!
Service was a bit slow. We sat for quite a while before the waiter acknowledged us and took our drink order. Ordered the green chili wontons, and they were only lukewarm when they arrived. My husband had mussels, which were great. I ordered the fried chicken, and was disappointed. The chicken was moist and well-cooked, but there was way too much breading. It was like a hard shell on the chicken. I also had the collard greens, which had good smoky flavor, but were very salty.
We love this place and will go back, but the food was not as great as it usually is.
The staff was outstanding, the service was fantastic. Oh by the way, the food was terrific.
Great food and service! Something upset my tummy badly, perhaps it was me or the food. I’ll give it another try!
Food was great, excellent service from Erin, specialty mimosas were awesome.
The tables were way too close together. Wish they did a better job of spreading the tables so they were not side by side. It was hard to not hear other's conversations, when desiring a quiet and intimate setting.
The food was excellent, and service spot on, however ambiance needs some work. We were seated what appeared to be an outside dining area surrounded by a tent. The tables were very close together, and it was loud. There was a breeze coming in and our table was brightened by a huge ray of sunshine that couldn't be blocked. They did have heaters going in this area, but our table was right up against a cold brick wall.
Our waiter was outstanding!
