Villa Verone Ratings and Reviews
Villa Verone never disappoints! If it's a table for two for date night or a table for 12 to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, the food, service, ambiance is amazing. Food portions are nicely sized and there is something on the menu for everyone. The waitstaff is very attentive no matter how busy they get and are very engaged in making sure your dining experience is top notch. I've never had a bad meal or service compliant in the many years I have been dining at Villa Verone!
I frequently dine here -- both for special occasions and just a lunch/night out! The food is fantastic -- authentic Italian food. Whether I've ordered just appetizers, seafood or pasta, the food has been delicious. Had my retirement party here and it was such a hit that several couples now dine here as well! The outdoor garden area is absolutely delightful. Would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Also, for those of us who are 50+, I appreciate the Martini Bar; the music is for our generation. This is not easy to find. Nice sized dance floor and quite a bit of seating is available.
Villa Verone is a staple of our neighborhood. The owner Pietro frequents the tables and is very attentive to patrons. The food is always good although my friend was not as happy with her meal. The waiter was helpful to provide her with what she requested (she had ordered off the menu which is allowed). My gnocchi was wonderful. Our waiter, though pleasant, forgot to bring my friend's wine and neglected to bring us bread but upon reminding him, he acquiesced. He also kept me waiting at the front when I first arrived while he completed and then answered another phone call. The person standing there should be the first order of business. Those calling on the phone can be placed on hold. Outside of those issues, Villa Verone is a superb restaurant and has never disappointed in the quality of food, ambience and hospitality.
We enjoyed a delicious Christmas Eve dinner in a lovely, warm setting. Although we were one of their later seatings, the staff welcomed us and did not make us feel rushed at all. Our server was extremely helpful and attentive. It was a perfect way to spend a special evening.
My husband and I stumbled upon this Geneva gem by accident, and then come to find out how popular it is. For us, it feels like family - and it reminds us of all the house restaurants we ate in during our honeymoon. The staff is always very friendly and happy to see us - we love it!
A reliable favorite . Dominic provided timely efficient service. Wine by the glass prices, even for house wines, has become excessive almost everywhere including here. If you figure 4 good pours from a $10 bottle of wine you could afford to sell a glass for $6.00 and still make reasonable profit. And at $6.00 a glass I might have 2 glasses. Go figure. I will still come back but no wine with dinner.
Our 1st time there and what a find. we were gifted a $100 to check this out and all 4 of us were in agreement: Best Italian Food anywhere! My wife and I are Italian and have grown up eating homemade and also many Italian restaurants in the Chicago metro area, so this is no light recommendation.
We all had different dishes and sampled each other's only to find we loved everything we tasted. I can't remember the last time I took a bite of any food and instantly closed my eyes and grunted primitively in ectasy. Truly this food was FANTASTIC! Loved every dish as well. I sampled: Bracciole, Oso Bucho, Lobster Ravioli, Chicken Parm, and a seafood past w shrimp and scallops. YUM!
We thought based on some of the reviews that we might feel too tight in here but to the contrary it even added to the experience. It felt like everyone was at the same party having a great time of food and fellowship! Italian-style! 5 stars and an A+ from all of us!
great food with great wait staff
If you don't see something that is a perfect match for your taste buds....just ask and they'll make it for you.
We overheard someone who had a very specific authentic Italian dish that was a favorite and was telling their waiter about it....waiter suggested they call ahead next time they were visiting and they would make sure they got the ingredients to make it for them
It was our 4th time to the restaurant and I've ordered different items each time. Every one has been excellent. Wonderful Italian food. The tables are a tad close together so it can be a little loud for casual conversation. The service is very good. The owner is very personable and walks around and greets the patrons. In the non-winter season, they have a wonderful dining area in the front "yard" of the restaurant that has great ambiance. Highly recommended.
