Villa Rosa Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
All food that came to our table was presented nicely, was hot & tasted great! The ambience is quiet & comfortable... good for a quiet dinner or romantic date. The patio area had a fun family party going on & was nice that it was in another area where they could be loud & noises & not bother any of the other customers. I would book this for an anniversary or surprise party!!!
The service was elegant as well... great & courteous servers.
Loved this restaurant, food is amazing and the wine list leaves nothing to chance. The only problem I have had is when the front door opens there is a rush of cold air that flows to where I always seem to be sitting which is unpleasant. My guest felt the same way.
This was our first time to Villa Rosa. We had family visiting from Calgary and we wanted a nice meal with quiet ambience where music isn't blaring in the background. We each had pasta and the portion sizes were plentiful! Adding prawns to my dish was a nice addition as they were meaty and fresh with a flavourful seasoning.
Everything from the staff, the atmosphere and the amazing food keeps us coming back to dine at Villa Rosa. Excellent Italian cuisine and by far the nicest staff we have come across. We highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic evening of good wine and excellent food!
This is the second year that we have been to Penticton on business. The food is awesome and the people working there are also awesome. We went back a second night during our stay there because it was so good. The prices are very reasonable and you have to try the bottled water that they have, amazing ( I know it's water but there was no bad taste when you get around this time of the year).
If I lived there, I would be there 2 nights every week and they also have take out. My hat off to this restaurant. They also had a very good wine selection with very reasonable prices.
We were in town for a concert and the restaurant was very busy-so glad we thought to make a reservation! The food was lovely-very flavourful and the service from start to finish was attentive and professional. The restaurant has a wonderful wine list which was a very pleasant surprise. There was something for everyone and at a range of price points. This was our first time here but we will be back when we have the chance. So glad they offer half portions. I know I could never have finished a full order of pasta. Good food, a great concert-all in all a very successful date night!
We were on a mini-vacation from out of town and came in for a celebratory meal after my Husband ran a marathon the day before. We were SO impressed with the wonderful, kind, service we and our toddler received. Above and beyond! The food was divine and authentic, the wine was fantastic and we were treated like we were the only ones in the room. I have been dreaming of the pasta I had, ever since. I guess I will have to buy the cookbook and try to recreate the meal, until we can get back there again. Our meal and experience were memorable and very positive! We will be back!
The restaurant is centrally located, near several hotels, the sports arena, and casino. It has a vine covered outdoor patio for dining in addition to the restaurant. A good wine selection with some reasonably priced bottles, both local and international. Food dishes (bread with oil, grilled cheese in tomato sauce, fusilli with a mushroom sauce, veal scallopine) were mostly bland and overdone. Server was extremely OVER-attentive, returning to ask if we were ready to order several times, telling us how to read the pricing for the wine (by glass, carafe, bottle) by pointing out each area on the menu., etc. Our conversation was interrupted several times while the server "checked on us", "how was our food?", etc. We had ordered a bottle of wine but decided not to finish the remaining third at the restaurant nor have dessert (mostly due to the constant interruptions) , so we requested that the bottle be re-corked and placed in a paper bag. The server asked "if we were walking?"; when I indicated that I (a mature 65 year old female with an impeccable driving record) was driving after less than a glass of wine during 2 hours of eating, she appeared horrified and held the bottle against her chest, almost unwilling to give it to us, even though I said we were going to place it in the car trunk. Both of us were absolutely amazed at this overly familiar, rude "mothering" style of service. Neither of us were intoxicated, loud nor disturbing of the other restaurant patrons.......but we were certainly insulted! Based on the bland food, overly concerned /attentive service, we won't be returning for another "fine dining" experience.
Overall a great dining experience with a small exception. My partner found a hair draped across his side plate which we just brushed it off as "it can happen not a big deal". Then when we got our water refilled he took a sip to get yet another hair but this time in his mouth which kind of grossed him out. As I took a bite of my main course I bit into something hard which, after examination turned out to be a small piece of plastic. We were to full to finish our meals so we got it packed up to go and when we got home and ate it the next day I was eating a roast potato and bit into something hard, this time it was a small stone perhaps from improperly washed potatoes.? Our waitress kept saying that it could have been a customers hair( which I understand ) but twice? I don't know if they were short staffed or just super busy but service was slow and had to flag someone down for more water a couple times. Despite all that we will definitely go back on our next visit as like I mentioned the food was really, really good! Perhaps an offering of a complimentary dessert or some kind of gesture would have been nice. Doug
