An absolutely wonderful neighborhood gem that will be sorely missed. My wife and I have frequented Villa Mozart for years. Very hopeful that Chef Andrea and team show up again soon.
Best restaurant EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!
A bitter-sweet final dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. I have only good things to say top to bottom on the place, and we will sadly miss taking our engagement anniversary dinners there. Fare well to the excellent chef and staff of Villa Mozart! I hope we can encounter you elsewhere in the future.
We had a wonderful evening with friends. Food was as always, outstanding. Sadly, Villa Mozart's last evening will be November 11, 2017. We will miss out local favorite.
Anniversary. Was very nice
This has been a great restaurant since it opened 10 years ago. The coziness and the quality of the food reminds me of the small restaurants that I enjoy so much in Europe. Seeing the same staff there each time I enjoy a meal helps make this restaurant special. It is sad that it will be closing. Fairfax is losing a true gem.
Exceptional quality of the meals. They pay attention to the details.
Must-go for people who appreciate those things.
Had a lovely solo meal here on a Thursday evening. The service could not have been more gracious. I enjoyed a lovely Elderflower martini while perusing the menu. My waiter steered me to a lovely glass of Sauvignon Blanc to complement the marinated beets and cheese. The risotto with lobster was delicious ~ flavorful without being heavy or dense. I ended the evening with a sweet ~ a personal cup size chocolate soufflé and cappuccino. It was a nice way to enjoy a rare solo night I recommend it for couples and solo diners like me.
Great food.
Our meal was excellent as was the wine. Service and attention also very good. Dining area and tables are very nice. The only small complaint is the loudness. A group across the dining area in a private area were boisterous and loud and all seemed to talk at once. The restaurant is somewhat intimate so noise seems to be amplified in there. Other than that, this is an excellent local fine dining spot.
I had heard good things about this restaurant but was underwhelmed. The food was nice, but
things on my plate were cold, except for the rock fish. It was a nice piece of fish, but quite small and there was nothing special to its seasoning. We're not likely to return soon.
I love Villa Mozart. We've been going there for about 2-3 years now and have never been disappointed. Just tried their pumpkin gnocci, which was superb. It's a lovely, quiet, wonderful, small restaurant in the city of Fairfax with the most delicious Italian food ever!
Villa Mozart is a dependable spot for a lovely, low-key dinner. Amazing food, personal service, understated elegance.
We love this restaurant and continue to return often
Absolutely the best quality and execution of any restaurant in the DC area. Pumpkin gnocchi is to die for. Potato crusted lamb is superb. Make sure to save room for dessert because it is equally excellent!
My wife and I grabbed a reservation for VM's 10th anniversary celebration and it was well worth the very good price. $55/person for a 4-course meal with a glass of prosecco. The courses were well-sized (not too large, not too small), and the food wonderful as always. We always look forward to their chestnut soup (zuppa di staggione). We shared the hometown ravioli and pumpkin gnocchi, both had the Alaskan halibut, and went separate ways for delicious desserts of apple strudel and polenta nera souffle. Delicious from start to finish. Our only (minor) complaint was that the service seemed a little slower than normal. Not that we mind having time to sit, relax, and chat, but it was over 30 minutes before we even received bread and placed our order, which is not at all our usual experience here.
I’ve eaten at restaurants around the world and Villa Mozart consistently rates at the top of the best restaurants. Great food, friendly service, nice wine selection, and located in an easy to get to location. Happy 10th Anniversary ... hope you’re around for a very long time!
Villa Mozart is my favorite restaurant in Fairfax. You can always count on a meal worth remembering. The menu changes regularly, but I don't mind as its inventive. I love the pasta. I like the way they honor all the ingredients and don't over tax things with sauces or super strong spices. It's not cheap, but its totally worth the price.
We are so happy that we returned. Life had gotten busy and we missed coming here for the past year+. Same wonderful staff, outstanding cuisine. We will definitely return sooner versus later!
For a little neighborhood restaurant, Villa Mozart can compete with the best of downtown DC. I loved my tuna tartare, which tasted fresh and had a hint of sesame oil. My rack of lamb was exquisite. Three large chops were coated in parmesan and flawlessly prepared, rare, juicy and tender. It was easy the best rack of lamb I have ever eaten . It was served on a crunchy race-cake bed, similar to the prized rice at the bottom of a Chinese rice cooker but better. The silken puree of green peas was so delectable I wished there'd been more. The only negative was the basil "sponge" that accompanied a richly chocolate mousse. Both the texture and flavor of the sponge was like putting dandelion fluff in your mouth. I'd have preferred more mousse and no sponge. This is definitely a restaurant I will recommend to others.
We keep coming back to Villa Mozart anything we want to go out and eat Italian. It is cozy and intimate inside with every detail being paid attention to. Our waiter was spectacular and he was always there when we needed him. The food is always amazing. Each time we dine here we know we're going to get seasonal and authentic dishes that hit the spot. Thank you Villa Mozart for always giving us memorable and satisfying meals!
Simply outstanding. Delicious food beautifully prepared. Exceptional service that provided great wine and grappa recommendations.
The best food and service. Everything was special.
We've been going to Villa Mozart for many years, and it is always a satisfying, elegant experience. The new menu offers some excellent choices. Unfortunately, there are no longer any vegetarian or seafood-only dishes, except for the "fish special of the day."
Had a very nice evening. Food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Simply the best! My favorite place to go. Always something interesting to try. The Borsa was exquisite in flavor and texture, very creative. Thank you for yet another wonderful meal!
Everything was impeccable. The service, ambiance and especially the food. I ordered the Manzo and my husband ordered the Branzino special. Utterly delicious. And to think, we drove by this restaurant and hundred times and didn't realize what a gem it was. Will definitely be back.
We had a great experience at Villa Mozart. All of our food was delicious. Gnocchi, tuna tartare, apple strudel -- all outstanding. The service was a little uneven at the beginning but the waiter was attentive and ensured that we had a wonderful evening. The only issue we had was parking. I still have no idea where we were supposed to park as there were only 2 spots at the restaurant. The rest of the evening made up for that initial problem. This is a lovely restaurant for a special occasion.
Delightfully memorable dining experience! Started off w/lovely calamari presented well w/tasty dipping sauce & refreshing salad of bibb lettuce, apples & goat cheese; crusty bread & butter came long, but the homemade breadsticks stole the show, seasoned beautifully! Borsa pasta "bags" dish was amazing; melt-in-your mouth cloud-like sauce; fettuccine Bolognese had a terrific pop; our server suggested a wonderful pinot noir that was the perfect accompaniment to our pasta; meal was finished off with a fabulous apple "strudel" and double espresso. At first, very slow service was annoying, but our server was most apologetic when he advised that two wait staff were not present. Ambiance was warm & cozy. Would definitely return.
My wife and I had an amazing anniversary dinner. Food was authentic and service was exceptional. Mon - Thur they have $39 three course meals. Only criticism would be that it is a little tight in there but still a beautiful and cozy restaurant. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice date night or special occasion. We will be back.
A great restaurant
Delicious and creative food in a very comfortable and quiet environment
We'll be back soon
Nice ambience for a special occasion dinner! Service was excellent, food was wonderful, and the portions were "just right". The menu options were very creative and inventive twists on traditional Italian fare - definitely a welcome break from the norm!
This restaurant was a wonderful surprise. The menu and specials were very appetizing that it was hard to choose. The service was exceptional. A great place for a special dinner or leisurely dinner for great conversation.
each time we dine here it seems as though the experience gets better
Fantastic food. Interesting selections. Quality, taste and sauces were all exceptionally good.
Really enjoy the dinning experience at Villa Mozart. Very innovative manual with superbly prepared dishes. One of the bests, if not the best, in Fairfax City. Highest recommendation!
Three friends on first visit. Three different meals. All total winners. Right portions. Cocktails and wine wonderful. Very fair value. Anxious to return!!
The food preparation was interesting but often less tasty than expected. Few pastas without meat even the lobster pasta. Many added elements in dish added little to taste or texture. The waiter seemed unhappy when we have him a $20. Tip on a $130. bill that was paid with a $150. Gift certificate.
we love this restaurant and go to it often for its excellent food and pleasing ambience. we've never been disappointed. we especially like the m-th special 3-course meal, a great bargain. wonderful for celebrating special occasions.
Great server and food. Quiet atmosphere in a romantic setting. Server was knowledgable and efficient.
