We had a great meal! We will look forward to returning this summer!
We had excellent service, great food and a handsome waiter from Rome. It was fantastic!
Classic meal we loved it so much! It had the old north end feel
Our waiter was amazing. He made the evening. It was really busy at first but once he could take care of us, it was much better.
Their food is excellent and they are prepared to vary their dishes slightly to meet my request of a breaded veal cutlet with out the sauce on top but on the side.
We were seated in the basement. Not a great room and very noisy.
Really like this place friendly staff food good and they make great drinks
We sat down stair even though I requested a window seat ,,, noisy could not hear my meeting with my guests
Fruit flies everwhere very very disappointing
This was simply the worst dining experience I have had. The service was non-existent; we couldn't even get water brought to our table but we did watch our server socialize and play on his cell phone. The food was good but: it took 2.5 hours to come out, some of the dishes came out and were left on a counter that shared space with the dirty dishes. My appetizer looked as if it was half eaten and recycled, we had two of the same appetizers for the table so we're not sure how the kitchen sent one out looking like that. We finally got the manager over because our waiter was upset that we asked for more water and another (second) round of drinks (which half the drinks did not arrive) and she was kind but overwhelmed.
Villa Francesca should not be on open table. They do not know how to manage this app or time.
We had a 8pm reservation and when we got there we were told by a rude waitress that everyone was waiting for a table, go get in line. Ok, that's not how Open Table works. We left.
Food was not good at all. Pasta was more like soup.
The service, food and atmosphere was wonderful. Planning to go back with my husband for a date night. This is now one of my favorite places to eat authentic Italian food!
Service was great. Food could have been hotter ( it was barely warm) and there was too much sauce on pasta dishes. Souplike
Tables are on top of one another. Not an intimate atmosphere at all. We were asked if we were celebrating a special occasion at the time reservation were made. Our response was that we were celebrating our anniversary. Nothing special was done that night. Why ask if its a special occasion, if nothing special is going to be done?
Food was so good
Our reservation was for 2:00 and we were seated promptly when we arrived. The service was great; attentive but not intrusive. Made recommendations and explanations when asked. Food was delicious. Value was fantastic. Several choices for each course-we were there for restaurant week. All in all a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone.
Went for restaurant week. Food was ok. Nothing special. Have been there before and it was much better. Think they were just trying to accommodate high volume. Would still suggest eating there.
Favorite for me. Falls into the "old school" Italian for me - but sometimes you just like good food that you can count on. Add in the grown up service from properly dressed waitstaff that calmly take care of you and it's great. Likes the prix fix menu myself.
We were here for Boston Restaurant Week and had a very enjoyable lunch. Mussels were particularly good. The service was very attentive and prompt. Only one of us ate dessert on site but our server kindly boxed mine up for me with all the accoutrements. Food prices are very fair but the wine is overpriced.
Been to Francesca many times and haven't been there for a while. Overall, food was excellent and place itself is great, but service was off. Negative - plates left on table from first course and never picked up before entree arrived - saw other tables have the same issue and heard several comments of such. Either they were short handed or their servers and assistants weren't able to keep up.
Great food. Our table was ready for our reserved time. Service was ok, a little slow and not very attentive. Overall good experience.
We often dine at Villa Francesca. It is a wonderful Italian establishment in the North End. The food is authentic and consistently outstanding. The pasta is fresh and they make wonderful traditional meals. The past time, the server was in training. She forgot our appetizer and got the drinks wrong. This has not generally been our experience here. The service is usually very friendly and knowledgeable. She was polite and apologized for the shortcomings in the service. The manager offered us complimentary wine. We will return to Villa Francesca regularly. It is an authentic gem in the North End.
All in our party got the wrong food.
We were very disappointed with the service, the best example we were sharing four appetizers family style. All we had were bread plate to put a salad on, I asked for larger plates to person delivering food, but I don’t think she understood , she nodded as to say ok but never brought plates and we ate off bread plates, so hopefully you get the picture. No complaints on food, it was good, not great, not like it was years ago
I've been coming to VF for more than 25 years - always a wonderful meal!
Always wonderful. My very favorite North End restaurant.
We had a wonderful time and the food was amazing! Our service was top notch as well.
Good and we liked it just not outstanding. Fairly standard menu and food solid but nothing special. Would go back but would also happily try other places in Boston North End
we have been to Villa Frncesca over 20 times. We love it. Except this time we brought a 5 year old who ordered spaghetti and meatballs. He was brought an adult portion with 2 huge meatballs and we were charged $24.oo
Beautiful place with amazing food and service! Tables are a bit close together because of the size of the restaurant but overall had a wonderful date night!
We came here for Valentine’s Day and it was great! Very affordable and quiet. The one thing that put me off though was the music. I know this is a really strange thing to pick up on, but they were playing like pop-rock Italian music. It just didn’t seem to fit the ambiance. Considering it was Valentine’s Day, it definitely made the experience much less romantic. Had they been playing traditional Italian music I think it would have suited the mood so much better.
Great service and great food
We had a great dinner And service was great as well
Food was good but service was awful.
We've been here many times before and they are always great! The food and service were fantastic and we really enjoyed being in the wine cellar!
Good food and service. I like the 3 course options. Only wish the space was a bit larger but it is the north end.
Food was bland, not much taste. Service was adequate. Would not go there again.
A fun spot right in the heart of the North End but slightly off the main drag, making it a more cozy respite on a busy Saturday night. The menu options are strong and the service was smooth. You receive the kind of bread while waiting which reminded me of the kind my father always had. The drink menu is robust - I enjoyed the Hendricks cocktail and then had a good white wine for dinner. The minestrone soup was excellent as was the insalata mista which had just the right amount of dressing. We had the fettucine con gamberi which was perfect and the seafood risotto which I could have kept eating forever. Enough to take home. Capped off with a cappuccino -too full for dessert. We'll be back!
Food was great and our waiter was awesome. Love this place!
Dinner was excellent. Highly recommend. Service was very good and dinner was great.
