I came here for my boyfriends birthday and although the Food was fantastic, the service was not. It took us 20 mins to get a waiters attention and that was only because we had to flag him down. We were seated and no gave us cutlery or water. Thank god the food was delicious or the visit would’ve been a waste.
We had a great time. The food was excellent! Service was great too!
Wonderful! Great food in a very nice setting! Could not have asked for anything better.
We celebrated my son’s birthday. We were downstairs which I like for a bigger party. It is quieter so we could hear everyone easily.
Food amazing. Service great! Best cannoli anywhere!
Great anniversary dinner in north end where we had our first date 28 years ago!
Food, service & atmosphere were all great !
Great food and service, as always!
Amazing authentic Italian food. I felt like I was back in Tuscany.,,:
As I expected based on previous reviews, they did not have our table ready at the time of our reservation. We waited about 20 minutes and it was very busy, however I think it was worth it. The restaurant is very loud so that was a take away worth noting, but the food was to die for! We went on a Saturday night and the fettuccine portobello pasta special made this restaurant worthwhile. The pasta is cooked in a cheese wheel mixed with burning cognac at your table-side. I have been searching for cheese wheel pasta in Boston for some time now and this place does not come up in the search but it was as delicious as I had hoped! I will be back.
The ambiance was great. Food was good portions, but not very flavorful and the bread served was cold and slightly stale. The service was also not very polite, which negatively impacted the experience.
Great food and atmosphere. Great staff as well.
Stuck in a basement corner overlooking service area. Won’t be going there again.
We made a reservation for 730 pm and arrived on time. We were then told that we had to wait for an additional 30 minutes for a table to be ready. It appears they did this to everyone who made a reservation that night. They did not even apologize for the inconvenience. The food was very good but the food anywhere in the North End of Boston is good. Villa Francesca will need to treat customers better.
Absolutely superb food! The scampi was to die for. Loved everything about it
Delicious food and great atmosphere! We have been to this restaurant several times and it never disappoints!
I had eaten there many times in the past but had not been in about 8 or 9 years. It was as I remembered, excellent. Service was great, the table even better and it is quiet enough that no screaming to be heard is necessary.
On a Saturday night, it was clear from the number of people waiting for a table at their designated reservation time that the restaurant had over-booked the tables. When finally seated, we sat for a long time waiting for the server to come over. We order two appetizers for the table (one of which never came), two different veal entrees, and two orders of chicken parm. No one raved about their meal, which kind of says it all. We will not be going back.
Saturday night for a birthday dinner (the restaurant was notified that it was a special event) and we were placed in the bar area with customers breathing down our backs. We were unable to hear each other. The food was good, but the overall experience was not worth the price or effort of getting to the North End.
Very crowded while we waiting to be seated for our reservation, and then very loud with other noisy party near our table... food was excellent though, just ambiance was challenged.
Very nice dining experience. All the dishes were well prepared. The calamari appetizer was exceptional. As was the homemade fettuccini. Stay for dessert. Try the cheesecake or cannoli!
We stopped here for lunch and loved it. The service was outstanding. The Italian food was excellent and our waitress Vanessa picked an perfect wine Chianti Nozzole for the meal. I had the filet of sole which was great. My guests thoroughly enjoyed their dishes too. The portions were plentiful and everything tasted wonderful.
Meal was good, atmosphere was ok we were in the back in the basement .
Very very good service.
The food was amazing. The only issue we had was that everyone had to order entree. We were sharing apps and meals so the waitress worked with us after a little back and forth but it was surprising at first that’s all
We will be back soon
That says it all
Service was fabulous. My friend had miscommunicated her order and the staff was wonderful about remedying the situation. Very attentive without being pushy.
It was a busy night and the seating arrangements were close, but spacious compared to other North End restaurants. We could hear and had enough privacy to carry on a conversation. Nice ambiance!
Visiting North End on a warm and busy Saturday evening in September. Was able to make a quick reservation on Open Table and obtain a good table next to the open window. Great, traditional Italian meal of antipasto and pasta with attentive service. Lobster ravioli was outstanding. Antipasto for two hit the right spot.
The host made sure we had a nice spot by the window rather than sticking us down stares which was much appreciated. The food and wine was fantastic!
Great spot
Great food and service
Wonderful find in the North End. The food was outstanding, and the service providers went out of their way to be helpful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Birthday. Excellent
It was great except for the table. It was a wobbly tiny table which didn’t have enough room for all the food. Very annoying. The food was great. The service was good.
We waited 30 minutes with an RSVP. They crammed us into a two-top that was within a few inches of tables on either side. Then they had to move our table right against the one next to us more than once to bring a presentation cart through. The food was nothing to rave about. Very disappointed.
We sat in the lower level table for 8. Great space for large parties but service was slow Overall nice place and good food.
This is probably my 3rd time at Villa Francesca and as usual it didn’t disappoint. They had our table for 10 already set up when we arrived and took us right to it. The food was excellent and so was the service.
Did not like the survival with brandy heated with torch gun
Lobster fra Diablo sauce was not very tasty
Salad was okay
Mine tribe soup was best part
Limited pasta dishes
Would not recommend better food elsewhere in north end
Never actually got served. Waiter was unattentive and after sitting for 20 minutes, we left
Everything was out standing
Very Delicious 💜
I hadn't had dinner at Villa Francesca for a long, long time. Wow, I was so impressed with the service,
the quality of the food, and the ambiance. The freshness of the parmesan, the wheel right there. The fact that they fill the cannoli's at the table and offer various topping and the creme caramel was also great.
This was lunch during DineOut Boston. The list of appetizers, salad entrees, and pasta selections was extensive. I loved the bruschetta, the best ever.
The three of us shared everything and loved every dish.
I love the fact that they also a large bar where you can feel comfortable sitting alone.
It's my new favorite place, beautiful with wide-open windows, lots of flowers and the raw bar displayed.
