Villa de Flora at Gaylord Palms Resort Ratings and Reviews
Dry food , bugs by the fruits , you should give the guests who come in by 10:45 an option to stay for brunch at $29.00 approx for breakfast not at all worth it !! Pancakes dry , toast hard , bacon burnt , sausage burnt at $29 the only hot food was the omelette station !! Please revamp it , right at 10:55 am the crew put out all left over items on top of old items and then server comes to table to let us know that in 10 more mts the buffet would be broken down ! The guest who comes in at 7:00 am should receive the same quality of food and service at 10:45 am ! Very disappointed 😔!! Sorry tried to look at good things to say unfortunately it wasn’t
We have been to this restaurant many times, lunch and dinner. This time we took visiting relatives and they loved it as much as we did. I love everything about this restaurant. Exquisite food, amazing deserts. Wonderful service. Excellent atmosphere. Seated in a Spanish style restaurant, in an atrium with lush tropical plants and scenery; what could be better? No matter the weather, you feel as though you are outside. The lighting. Everything from family-friendly to romantic atmosphere. We will be back.
Great food and sitting in the atrium area is very enjoyable . The foliage is so pleasantly pleasing to the eye. Last time we were there on the dessert table they offered Crème brûlée ,
Not so this time....I miss that dessert, but there was many more to choose from.
Great restaurant and great food. The restaurant is beautiful and is in a pleasant location with great service. Nothing bad at all to say about the experience. It is worth going for those that will enjoy a big buffet meal as you pay a lot per person.
We went for breakfast and I do not feel that our $34 per person was worth on a breakfast experience. The experience of going during holiday break and being forced to pay more due to character hours (even though we were not interested in that at all) was not pleasant. During that time you are forced to either go extremely early or very late to pay less, if you want to go on a regular breakfast time you pay the character price only. We knew that when booked but it was the only time that worked for us and even knowing ahead, it is still very expensive for a breakfast buffet. Will not be doing that again.
We had 16 people in our group. We were we all seated at the same table and had an exceptional wait staff. The food was very good, but the price is a bit high for how little us seniors can eat. This is a special occasion restaurant in the future, based on the price. We didn't eat enough for the price paid.
This restaurant was lacking in choice and flavor considering the price. It simply was not a good value for the money. The setting was too casual considering the price. You can get the same meal at half the price, with better decor and more flavor at many places in Orlando.
My husband, daughter and I dined here for NYE. Adults were $75 a piece for buffet. The buffet looked fantastic with so many options. However everything was tasteless and bland. Everything from the salad bar to dessert. The Alfredo had no taste, the veggies.. tasteless. Dessert was also a let down. All completely bland. I had high hopes for our NYE dinner and was completely let down. Then then bill was $200 for 3 People for terrible food?!? Never again.
Restaurant not as Friendly as it used to be. The rear was very crowded. Like they added tables to get more people in for New Years Eve. Waiters were not friendly at all. Very Robotic. Food was okay but not spectacular. Dined here many times. Always special occasions. My wife said Not Again. We will stick with Capital Grill in Tampa. 100 mile round trip to Gaylord for us. $150 for the two of us to eat. Got stuck in the back with poor service. Hard to repeat that for a Birthday,Anniversary or Valentine's Day or New Year's Eve. . Too bad , we used to look forward to dining here and would tell all of our friends. Bring visitors over as well.
New Year’s Eve. Over priced. For over $50/person I expected the food to be more flavorful and the tables to be nicer. Our table rocked so much on the uneven floor that we had to hold our glasses when someone sat down. It felt like a cafeteria instead of fine dining.
Disappointing service no attention to drink orders. Server advised she would bring drinks and never did. We had two birthday celebrants and she only acknowledged the male. We go for special occasions but obviously they endeavor to make it memorable for a horrible experience.
Although the service was great, that was about all that was positive about the experience. I made reservations for 2PM and found out when I arrived with my party of 7 that 2PM is when they closed and they would be pulling all food off from the buffet at 2:30PM. This was made very clear to us by a very rude hostess who by the way gave a lot of grief to 4 members of my party that were 5 minutes behind - RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! Why would they take a reservation knowing this? I had to ask for more food to be put out on the buffet as what was left were slim pickings. Mine was not the only party that had issues with there being nothing to eat. The experience was extremely disappointing especially as we were celebrating my Mom's 80th birthday and of all the places we could have gone, we chose this one based on past visits. SHAME on you Florence Villa for not putting your guest first as I believe is the first rule in hospitality. Clearly, hospitality and guest service is no longer a priority for Florence Villa or the Gaylord Palms. As such, I will be taking all of my future business to an establishment that appreciates my business. The competition out there is fierce, remember that Gaylord Palms.
Value was horrible for what you get. Most of the food my kids wanted was empty and took way-to-long to refill. It appears quality of food and selection has dwindled over the years. Save your money and buy a bagel next door or leave the property and buy food nearby at a fraction of the cost.
I took my son and his girlfriend who came down from up North to see ICE but before the show I made reservations at Villa de Flora There was a buffet that night and every station we went to the food was great and there were so many choices to choose from I think we tried them all
Our server was from Yonkers NY and very attentive and friendly, polite and professional
I would recommend Villa de Flora in a heartbeat
We were left quite disappointed by our experience at the ‘Breakfast with Charlie Brown and friends’ on 26th December 2017. Our table was booked for 10am and we arrived slightly late at 10.15am. The restaurant was not busy and we were shown straight to our table and the Lucy character brought to us immediately even before we had a chance to sit dow, which was awkward. We then went and made our selection at the buffet. The food was okay, but nothing really special, but there was plenty of it. As we arrived back at our table Charlie Brown was directed to us. This was a quick interaction as our breakfast was going cold in front of us. After breakfast we paid our server, who while very pleasant, hadn’t told us that the characters, including Snoopy, had now finished for the morning and therefore we couldn’t have our photo taken with Snoopy. I wrote to the restaurant manager via their Twitter account as I couldn’t find contact details on their web site. I received, what I consider, a perfunctory response which did not offer an apology but said “I appreciate your feedback given of your experience for the Charlie Brown Breakfast. I have shared this with the appropriate parties involved to help make our dining experience even better moving forward.”
So our experience was on the whole very disappointing considering we had paid paid a premium price ($200.00 inc tax and tip) for 5 of us. There is a lot of choice in Orlando for character breakfasts, in our experience this is one to avoid.
Not worth it! I was excited to have my children meet Charlie Brown and friends, and I also happen to love a good hotel brunch, so I was ok with the overpricing. But the food was not good, kind of like a cheap Las Vegas hotel buffet and Charlie Brown and just one friend were not exciting at all.
The desserts was really without flavor or taste the pie was horrible I do live to go to Villa flora I been eating there for years once at a month but the past 24 of December. Christmas Eve buffet was the worse Christmas dinner ever ,. The taste was so out line, the flavors and the weird part is that is almost the same buffet always and that's why I go but these past 24 OMG I don't even know what happened with the food there and the desserts the desserts really bad
This was my second time eating here. Never thought they would raise the price by $40 just because it was Christmas Eve. $254 for 3 of us. Ridiculous. Same food as before but since on our receipt, it said “Holiday Buffet”, I guess they can charge more. It wasn’t mentioned or signed anywhere about this price increase. Never going back. Could have just gone to Outback for $75 total and had just as good as a meal.
