I had made reservations for this restaurant several days ahead of our scheduled dinner. I received confirmation and even called the day of our dinner to confirm the reservation. When we arrived, we were surprised to see that the restaurant was empty and no food was ready at the buffet. I rechecked the website for the restaurant and confirmed that it was to be open for dinner (5pm to 10pm). Several other couples were also at the gates. They had reservations also. Absolutely no one was at the restaurant, not even any restaurant personnel. We went to the resort's front desk to inquire as to why the restaurant was not open. All they could say was that the restaurant was closed and that we could go to the other restaurants within the resort. Essentially telling us to kiss off. We inquired as to why no notification was sent to us letting us know that the restaurant was not open. The front desk had no answer, only an apology. We had traveled 30 minutes to get to the restaurant and were going to celebrate my son's 20th birthday. For a high end resort, this was a deplorable way to treat a guest visiting their resort. For those of you that wish to dine at the Villa De Flora, I wouldn't bother, even if you make a reservation because the restaurant may closed when you get there. You can't trust their website and the resort personnel giving you the correct information.
Great ambient and good was great I love the Gaylord palms overall
Nice place with good food :)
Our server “Ali from Morocco” was absolutely amazing as our dinner server.
We also went to the breakfast brunch and food both times were wonderful. At breakfast there was a wedding and it was a little more loud but still very nice. Beautiful scenery. Beautiful restaurant and very enjoyable!
The Buffet had a large variety of food, salad, appetizers, side dishes, meats, chicken...the wait staff is very friendly
Very nice. Tasty food selection. Nice variety.
The waitress was exceptional. She was well informed of all the items the restaurant had to offer. All her recommendations were well above my expectations. Will definitely be going back.
Beautiful setting inside the Gaylord Palms. Our server (Ali) was outstanding!
Food was excellent.
Great experience to have a date and walk around the resort and the atrium
Our rainy date night was made perfect by visiting Villa de Flora! Sitting in the atrium is amazing. The food: even better! And the staff are so nice and ready to serve. Hard to believe a place like this isn’t very busy on a Friday night!
Such a wide variety of food! Service was phenomenal!
Although the food snd service was great. They are not back to 100% with regard to food options. Can’t wait until the are back —completely!!
Great variety to choose from for the dinner buffet ! Great value, and great ambience! Our server was amazing as well.
It was just pizza and pasta night
Wonderful food, service and ambiance. Like it so much my family ate there twice.
This was by far one of the best buffets I’ve eaten at. From the meat and cheeses to the pasta station to the hand carved brisket station. Every dish was delicious! The ambiance was perfect. It really was just a perfect night. Our server Ali was very friendly and on top of things. We would duplicate this night if we could!
The pasta was bland and uneventful, the meat wasn't bad. Desserts were good.
Not nearly as good as all of my previous years enjoying dinner at this restaurant. After closing for many, many months, they have opened with a red decoration and design of the serving area which at least to me, wiped out all of the Mediterranean homestyle I came to enjoy. The stations are more clinical, the pasta station reduced to a sterile looking and hard to find corner and they totally eliminated the ice cream station. Sadly, there were many people in line wearing bathing suits and other attire that I’m not used to ever seeing before at the restaurant. our reservations were for 7 PM and a party of six so I would’ve thought at that hour that while leisurely attire would be approved, there would still be a higher level after of a dress code present. sadly, after we paid our bill we never saw our server again. Water glasses were not refilled. And dessert plates were left on our table. And even though the tip had been added to our table in advance. We still chose to leave extra knowing that we would be sitting at the table a bit longer talking and enjoying the special birthday occasion. Lastly, management should consider developing a layout plan to place families with small children on the outer perimeter and in the same area with other families having children. Sad that they set a party of five right next to us with two loud rambunctious crying children who absolutely affected our ability to enjoy what could’ve been and should’ve been an amazing time at the Gaylord palms. Clearly this is not the review I’d hoped to of left and sadly as a result of this visit I’m doubtful that I’ll be choosing to go back as often as I have in the past This is a Voice to text transcription so I apologize in advance for the spellings or mistakes in grammar.
I miss the old charm! This was not a good change for me!
Pricey for quality of the food and the small amount of options.
The service was excellent. I think the price it’s only because the restaurant it’s located at the Gaylord.
Was at resort for conference. Had lunch here. The server, Jackie was very nice and attentive. Only problem seemed to be with the amount of people trying to get thru the buffet lines. Very crowded and slow. Food was ok, just not replenished fast enough so felt rushed to keep line moving.
Food was good. Service was excellent. Jackie was our server for both our lunch and dinner on the same day.
Great opportunity to have fresh pasta a la carte instead of a buffet.
We found the restaurant to be relaxing, food tasted very good. My daughter has many food allergies. The chef came out and cooked an individualized meal for her. They brought out a candle and dessert for my granddaughters birthday. Cost is not cheap, but it is typical for a resort.
Expensive. Good quality was poor. For a buffet they has very little choices. Not worth the money
I had no idea this was a buffet restaurant, I think the listing should have made that more clear. The hostess was not very friendly, though our server Luisa was magnificent. Still, its a buffet, so there weren't many demands place on the service people. The food was very good, and the selection of food was modest. $279 for 6 people for a buffet.... I won't be back.
The selection wasn't as good as it use to be which affects the value and we were there at 5:30 and the food was warm at best and not replenished fast enough.
Parking upon arrival was a nightmare. The valet was nowhere to be found, cars were backed up to the point where I was unable to drop off others and self park. Upon entering the restaurant the staff was not very pleasant and were visibly frustrated and irritated with the fact that they were busy.
The food was great, the service was outstanding!!!
We have gone here quite a few times & food quality & choices this time were poor & the cost of the meal was not worth the quality.
Update your file on Villa de Flora. It’s incorrect :)
This was our first time here and I just felt like $38 per a person was alot.
Way overpriced for the food options. Regular buffet- nothing special at all.
I was there for their special event for Easter it was $70 per adult I’ve been there before but this time it was awful I got sick while I was there my husband and my son got sick the same night wrote a report out told the manager and I have still been waiting for their phone call very disappointed was there with six people and out of six people four of us got sick
The quality and abundance was definitely not as good as it was pre new construction. The dinner was not worth the cost. Villa de Flora definitely needs to improve. We frequently stay at the Gaylord and have always eaten there, we will definitely be looking for other options for dinning.
We absolutely love Villa de Flora. We eat there every time we stay at Gaylord Palms in Orlando.
We had a wonderful server and the atmosphere was terrific. However the food was awful. All of the places we ate at the hotel had terrible food.
We used to go the Gaylord Palms often and always had quality meals....this trip was a disappointment.
Cathy our server was amazing!! So nice and attentive. The evening we went there was a buffet. I think its always buffet style I am not sure. The food was good but was not hot some items were cold. The Prime rib and pork tenderloin were very tasty. We were walking around at 5pm so we decided to check the restaurant out in advance. We were greeted by Calvin the host. I explained it was my birthday and we wanted a nice table. We reserved a certain table for my reservation at 7:30 that evening, Calvin assured me it was not a problem. Unfortunately, when we arrived back for our reservation at 7:30 the table we reserved was already sat!! No Happy Birthday or apology from Calvin. Our server Cathy however, made it up to me she was the best!! Gaylord Palms is very lucky to have her!!!
The food was delicious! Our server was outstanding! He went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed ourselves!
Terrible waste of money barely any selection and now the servers at the buffet are extremely rude!!! Save your money and go somewhere else it’s totally not worth 50 dollars a person
