We went to brunch for our anniversary and had a wonderful selection of food. The service was fantastic Angel kept our mimosas full.
Being the end of the holiday season, one would expect a better experience! As for the food choice, seafood-only shrimp & smoked salmon-with no accompanying items for smoked salmon, no capers no onions no cream cheese no bagels! There were no crab legs of any kind & at $40/person-you would expect a higher level of food like stone crab claws or caviar! Carving station was okay, they had the custom pasta at the same place (with only 1 cook) as the omelet/eggs. Long line to get that done. I will say that the braised pork belly on polenta was sublime! Desserts were nothing special either and this was co-located with the eggs Benedict station so you had to wait while the kids take 15 mins to decide what dessert the wanted while the EB’s were getting cold! Overall not a place to take people! Thank God they are now closed for renovations, maybe management can make this into a destination for a special meal vs. in typical resort town fashion overpriced & under value!
My husband’s birthday!
Jan 4, 2019 7:20 p.m. We were completely ignored by Matthew G who was supposed to be waiting on us. We asked several times for water, and twice we went looking for *ANY* server and only one server helped us multiple times. She said she had no idea where our server was. I asked her to let management know that we were being forgotten. No management showed up. When Matthew finally came to the table I said, "we feel like you have abandoned us," and he replied, "I have a big ticket to check out". So, I responded with, "water takes a moment, and I watched you at the register for 10 minutes. I have worked in food service before and you could have brought water for us a while back when we asked". MATTHEW ABANDONDED US and had someone else deliver the bill. AVOID Matthew. The food was decent, but the one star was due to the HORRIBLE SERVICE BY MATTHEW. We were also very surprised that a $37 buffet did not include at least tea or coffee - only water... thus our constant looking for Matthew.
Exorbitant prices that you have no way to opt out of if you’re looking for a hot breakfast at the resort. Over $115 dollars for 2 adults and 1 child for BREAKFAST (very standard buffet) with no additional beverages or add-ons. We expected resort prices (it is a resort, after all) but this is overpriced and underwhelming at best.
Horrible food and service. Paid almost $200 for breakfast that was a total waste of time. Never again.

The quality of food has gone down hill. Service was great but for the type of food not worth 65 PP.
Brunch didn’t even have breakfast items in it. I drove 100 miles for their brunch and didn’t have items they said would be on menu. So poor I may never go back - and had been going there for more than 10 years.
Good except waiter disappeared for 20 minutes and it was hard to get someone to service the carving station.
The main entrance is on a dead end walkway at a higher level. We needed wheelchair access and could not find the entrance. We could only find stairs to the entrance until we found a emergency exit with a ramp and came in the back way. Staff was not helpful in getting us through the array of tables to the check in desk.
My wife was walking with a cane and had to climb the stairs while holding onto the guardrail, her cane and her dinner plate without any assistance being offered by staff.
Overall we enjoyed the food and the experience. Entrees and the pasta selection was very limited. The food was very good but not an Italian restaurant.
It was a great experience. The food was delicious, the service was great!
Christmas family outing
Bad start ...because open table made some kind of mistake.....there was no reservation....I did had a confirmation number so they finally gave us a table at the back of the restaurant....far away from everything.....
This is a large hotel restaurant so the experience is what you would expect. Some of the buffet items were delicious (raw bar, grilled veggies, salads) while other items (fish/chicken hot entrees) and a sparse dessert station missed the mark. Service was spotty with our waitress disappearing for long periods of time. I believe this may have just been her though, as the other waitstaff appeared to check on their tables regularly. They even stepped in to clear out table of used dishes when it was clear our server was below par.
Food was really good but after spending almost $600, I thought it was really cheesy not to validate my parking. I do not need to spend my money in a place that does not value the business. They need to rethink the policy.
Food was good - although a bit pricey. Only issue was they no longer validate parking which was an extra $50+ for two cars. We’ve been going here for years but will likely not return because of this.
It was a very busy weekend....Just after Christmas. Thankfully, we ate at the tail end of lunch so the restaurant was not busy. Worst part of the day was parking. That was terrible. Not organized. They have a lot of construction going on so it was just a mess.
Overall an OK experience, however, very overpriced. No other sit down breakfasts options at the resort. Atmosphere was very nice. We had the terrace seating area. Service was excellent. Breakfast buffet was $201.00 (including tip) for one child and four adults. Food quality was nothing special .....average breads and prepackaged danishes. Fresh fruits bowls almost empty and not refilled during second serving. Sausage gravy was a cold sticky glob of mixture. When asked for a fresh serving was advised to come back in 10 minutes. Biscuits cold and crumbly. Delicious omelet station. Wonderful coffee and server provided us with travel cups. Not worth going off property to find a restaurant and then valet process again.
We paid $101 for breakfast for myself & two children. The server was never around, the elves never came to our table & their needed to be more kid breakfast choices. Not happy with our experience at all!
This is an annual treat for us after going to ICE. The food was good, I just feel like in the past there were more food options out - but maybe there is a difference between lunch and dinner. Our server was very friendly, but wrote out ticket up including my 10 year old as an adult, but she changed it. So it was very close to 5 stars, just not quite.
Overpriced. Had 2 free breakfasts room deal. Restaurant tried to charge me a $5 upcharge because they had a character breakfast occurring at the same time. No where on the hotel or restaurant website or from information provided by the hotel at check in was this disclosed. Got management to waive surcharge. Not a good way to do business.
Save your money and time. Go anywhere but here. Seriously. It's not worth it... my husband and I were very disappointed with the food. There are limited food options for a $40 buffet.

We are on our 8th. year and it was just as perfect from day one. There are so many choices to turn to and we have tasted everything and I mean everything! When we stay at the Gay Lord Palms in Florida we book every meal there for 4 days in a row. It is amazing food and the service is great. When we get home we are so spoiled that we joke what time is breakfast. Just try it once and you will be booking it all there as we do.
We were very disappointed this time!! We have loved this place in years past! This year the had no prime rib when we were there. They kept saying 15-20 min. 40 min later they had a RAW prime rib out and were saying just pour some Au Jus over it. Very disappointed, especially when your spending $400 for your family to eat dinner!

The service was fantastic! Radouane B. was amazing. He treated us like royalty. I truly hope Villa de Flora appreciates him and all of his hard work.
We were there to celebrate my mom’s birthday. The food choices were limited, we were told they had not planned for the volume of people coming that day. They ran out of desserts before we had finished our meal. My mom barely ate. We usually really enjoy Villa de Flora but this was a very disappointing experience. Added to the nightmare that was getting into the resort and parking, and I greatly regret choosing Villa de Flora to celebrate my mom’s birthday.
This buffet was underwhelming at best. If you have a family of 6 be prepared to pay an 18% charge for a large party and then another 18% gratuity. That totaled to $90 just in extra charges for food that was mediocre at best and extremely busy. The cook at the omelet station was mean and scary-we jokes about him being the Oscar the grouch of omelets. We have 2 in our party that have gluten intolerances and there were very few options for us to choose from. And unlike most brunches, the bottomless mimosas were an additional $20 per person.
When I talked to the concierge at the hotel, we were staying 5 nights, about the extra charge for the party if 6 on top of the added gratuity, the response was “all the restaurants around here do that” which is totally false-we are locals having a staycation.
There are much better brunches in the Orlando area for the same price or less expensive.
We have been going here for Brunch for over 7 years. This time, there was no valet parking and we were forced to trudge through dirty, muddy cow pasture to get to the building. I'm so disappointed and will probably start a new Christmas tradition at a new place. Very disappointing experience!!
On a positive note; the table service was excellent and the what food there was was hot and delicious. Unfortunately the rest of this review is negative. We made this reservation weeks ago to celebrate our first Christmas as Orlando residents. We arrived at the Gaylord Palms with one of our adult children, dressed festively for a brunch which the cost of and the Marriott name signified elegance. We were herded to a field to park with the people coming in to see the various shows at the resort. We asked each parking person we passed if we needed to follow the crowds if we had brunch reservations all said yes. After parking in a field we walked approximately 1/4 mile in our heels through mud, entering the resort via the employee entrance. The brunch area was extremely crowded, we were asked for our reservation by 2 different hostesses, neither greeting us. Herded again to a table at the back of the restaurant next to the server area of glasses pots of coffee etc. The food available was minimal not at all what one would expect for a the type of brunch we have experienced at other Marriott resorts. To sum it up an experience absolutely not worth the $40/adult and not at all the celebration we expected. Even though we are now Orlando residents we will not return nor will we recommend to others.
Great buffet! Noisy, but expected when in the middle of the atrium. Service was excellent!
Hotel was beautiful as always. Service at the carving & omelette stations was not up to par. Eggs Benedict being prepared at the dessert bar was unusual and didn't even find it until we went up for dessert.
This restaurant is OVERPRICED!!!!!! For weekend “brunch” they want $34 for adults and $24 for kids. They don’t have enough food variance. When we booked the reservation, it mentioned ‘Brunch’. Expected a variety of breakfast and lunch items. It ended up being a ‘Character Breakfast’ and only supplied under cooked omelettes, cereal, fruit, donuts, sausage/bacon and small pancakes or waffles.
We also attended the restaurant for dinner the previous night. Not much better with the variety and had to wait several times for items to be refilled. The restaurant has gone downhill. This was our 4th visit to Gaylord Palms.
Fun and delicious and especially convenient when staying at the resort. I think the staff could spend a few minutes to steamline the check-in, seating and buffet process to make it smoother for guests. It seemed that a large number of parties were all seated at the same time which made the buffet difficult.
The Elf on the Shelf character breakfast is a great experience that the kids love!!
We were to get a complementary breakfast buffet with our hotel stay. We made reservations with no problems. After we finished eating we were informed we had a $5.00 charge per person because elf on the shelf characters were there. My husband and I are 64 & 62. We did not have pictures taken with characters nor had any interactions with them. With tax and gratuities our complimentary breakfast cost over $12.00.
The restaurant experience was exceptional as well as the Christmas show that we saw after dinner! The only thing that we were very disappointed in was that we wanted to do valet parking and they told us that it was not available due to approximately 1500 youth soccer players that were there. I did not really understand what that had to do with valet parking, however we were told where we could go for free self parking only to find out when we were leaving that we had to pay $25.00 and that we could not get a receipt as we had paid cash ! Some of our party had arrived earlier than we did and were able to use valet parking and only paid $15.00 when leaving. Don't understand that as well. So with all of that being said, we will be back as we come quite often and always enjoy it, just think that everyone needs to be sure they are telling the correct information.
