Villa de Flora at Gaylord Palms Resort
In addition, the staff has an impeccable eye for hospitality, from the minute you enter until your warm send-off. This epicurean dance begins with a “market tour” and explanation of the day’s offerings, generously displayed in each station. A delectable wine list is offered, including the restaurant’s famed sangria.
Sunday Brunch is an additional treat, named Critic’s Choice for Best Brunch by the Orlando Sentinel.
Range of food options fairly limited but quantities good. The entire evening was ruined however by the ridiculously exhorbitant parking fee of $24. The last time I dined here parking fees were waived for diners. As there were very few people in the dining room I now understand why. This restaurant used to be very busy and used/recommended by people living locally. Clearly this totally unreasonable parking charge will completely deter anyone not staying at the hotel from booking any of their dining experiences. I have never had to pay for parking at a restaurant that I am already paying a lot of money to eat in...and now never will. Pity, as it looks as though the hotel needs the customers.
Villa de Flora ia a favorite of our family. We love almost everything about it, and dine there regularly, whether we are staying at the Gaylord or not. The tomato basil soup is our teenager's absolute favorite, and he looks forward to having it every time. For spring break this year, his request was to stay at the Gaylord and eat "his" tomato soup at Villa de Flora. Unfortunately, this time, the famous soup was not on the buffet. We have been there countless times, & it's ALWAYS there...so we were surprised, disappointed and were chatting about that as we stood there looking for it. (The other two were very good, but not what he had been looking forward to) We were not complaining loudly, nor speaking to anyone other than each other, but one of the employees, Maria, overheard us and asked if she could help us. We explained we were looking for the favorite soup, and kind of chuckled about the fact that we had picked a night it was not served when it was our main reason for going. She apologized, we of course said "no problem, we will be back another time for sure". It was literally a 20 second chat, and we went on with our dinner. A little bit later, Maria and our server came to our table with a big crock of THE TOMATO SOUP, and gave it to our son!! Maria had taken it upon herself to tell the chef about his disappointment and the chef made a special serving of it just for him!!! We we SO surprised and touched by that kind gesture. We would never have asked for special treatment or for the employees to go out of their way for us, but they did it on their own! We can't even express our thanks enough. We have told this story everyone we know & recommended they go! What an asset Maria and that chef are to your company! Please give them our thanks again, recognition and huge KUDOS (and maybe a raise? lol!) for how special they made our family feel. We are loyal Marriott guests and this kind of service is one of the reasons. Thank you again!
Service at all the Gaylord restaurants is consistently fantastic, year after year. My only complaint is that I wish there was an option to order smaller portion breakfast items from a menu as most other restaurants with a buffet option offer. When you're with a mixed group for breakfast, not everyone has the same appetite to justify a $30 per person spend.
It was later in the night. It seemed that the staff was more interested in getting the dining room prepared for the next day. I had to wait at the carving station for over 5 minutes for someone to come from the kitchen to carve some meat. Overall this was a pleasant experience.
Better than we expected! We stay at the Gaylord a couple times a year and have avoided this restaurant because the food had not been that great in the past. There were plenty of good options for our dinner. The waiter ‘ Angel’ took time to offer a wine choice from your selection and it was very good! Will try it again.
Paella was not available although it was one of the items advertise for the buffet. Polenta was too watery. When with the Osso Bucco which it was next to it made a watery gravy soup. Pasta was uneventful to tastebuds.
From the process of securing the reservations to the payment exit all encounters were genuinely courteous and accommodating. I arrived early to announce arrival of the party. I inquired about where were to be seated, and was invited to select a table and location of my choice. Our Server "Rod" was affable and attentive. This was a special occasion and every aspect of expectation was met or exceeded.
As always Villa de Flora came up trumps. We all had a great afternoon.
Family get together
My birthday and I felt like a queen for the day, fantastic cuisine fantastic service
Very nice selection of food and beautiful ambience amidst the atrium.
Wonderful food, service and ambiance but definitely not cheap.
The food , the service , the atmosphere .....everything was great !!! I would highly recommend to all my friends :)
Poor tasting food in loud environment at buffet breakfast next to inane character show.
Great food in a awesome setting! We visit anytime we are in town.
My mom enjoyed her birthday celebration here. It’s her 3rd time returning. Staff was very nice. Server from Morocco was pleasant and attentive to my mom, the chef cooked chick peas and rice my mom enjoyed it very much. My other friends planning on going back because they also enjoyed the food, scenery etc.
My wife, 2 year old son, and I had a fabulous brunch. My only complaint is the eggs tasted like bagged eggs. Otherwise, the experience was very good
As always dinning at Villa de Flora is a pleasure. The atmosphere is above scale. It is very nice to enjoy the food and friends in a relaxing but open atmosphere. And of course if you want private you can have that to. This is a popular go to place for us.
The signage at the resort for finding the restaurant and parking arrangement is VERY poor, and the long walk from the parking area to the restaurant was exceedingly dark and did not have a marked handicap access route, all of which made it especially hard to bring our elderly family member to dinner. Plus, few people who worked at the resort knew how to direct us where we needed to go, as we got conflicting instructions that had us going around in circles.
The food is a very good buffet with a moderate range of choices but serving trays were permitted to run out without timely replenishment.
The food was overpriced for the overall experience, and an 18% gratuity was automatically tacked on, which seems high as a minimum for a buffet with limited table service.
It was a tasty meal but the experience overall felt like a tourist trap rather than a special treat that was worth the extra effort and expense.
I was very disapointed. It was my daughters birthday. On previous visits fo celebrate we were impressed. This time instead of a sunday and making a fuss over her she was given a cupcake. It looks like it is my last visit
The food was excellent. The items definitely shrunk since the last time we were there, but we thought what was available was enough to satisfy us. The rice and chicken in the paella were dry, the dessert options needs to be better, other than that everything else was good. The price didn't bother us since we only eat there once in a while.
This place is not only a beautiful location, it is also a fantastic breakfast buffet! We had a group of 9 people who all were very impressed with the excellent food, service and ambience. I would highly recommend this place for a great meal. Far better than Disney’s “Be our Guest” restaurant. That place is very expensive and way overpriced and overrated!
We come to the Orlando area once a year and this brunch is on our "not to be missed" list. Nice variety of food, well prepared, hot food is hot, cold food is cold. This year..the chocolate creme brulee was to die for!!!
Love this place, food was really good, great service
Amazing food and service, just a little pricey
It was absolutely fabulous.
This restaurant used to be so good. The food would just melt in your mouth. I was very disappointed. Brunch was only breakfast foods that were dried out and nothing to brag about. The price was outrageous for what we got. We meal and value of any of the restaurants we ate at during our stay.
Exelente servicios y buenos precios!
Lo recomiendo a todos mis amigos y familiares!
Great experience. Hostess and servuce and food awesome.
We went for the Valentines Day special. The small touches like a rose for every female and speciality chocolates at the end were a nice touch. I loved the small chef special apps and dessert drink too.
Overall we enjoyed the food experience. The service sucked though. Drinks went unfilled and finished plates were left on the table. For a bill that was $175.00 including a 18% tip the service was awful.
Took my wife here for a Valentines dinner. I had not been to this restaurant, but had been to Gaylord Palms previously and loved the setting under the atrium. We arrived 30 mins. early but we were seated immediately in a most romantic two seat table outside under the atrium. We thoroughly enjoyed the ambience, the food and the entire experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys Mediterranean style food. Exquisite!
I love everything about this restaurant, but I cannot give it 5 stars today for the shear reason that they did not put the cream out for the bread pudding. They had some raspberry sauce instead which was disappointing. I asked someone if they had it, but she looked and said no. The bread pudding with cream sauce/glaze is the star of the buffet! It’s not the same without it :( Please keep it as an option!
As usual brunch was great
Food was good as normal and a good variety, our server was terrible, unfortunately too busy talking all night to the table next to us, we gave up asking for anything we needed she was just not interested, think she forgot she was supposed to have been working that night.
Everything was good
Our server Ron was brilliant. We were a little disappointed that there was no french cost left and the pancakes had been under the lamp for too long and were dried out. Otherwise the buffet breakfast was excellent as usual
Food was good, but not very hot. $30 a person is a bit much for traditional breakfast food. The waiter was nice at first, but then unpleasant after a while.
Good option of food, attentive and sympathetic staff.
Excellent place, excellent foods, excellent attention, very nice everything, very good, we love it!!!! Thanks for exist.
