I was able to make a reservation on Open Table - then it was cancelled by ther restaurant, with no explanation. I figured it was a glitch - so I made ANOTHER reservation, and it took. Only to discover, one we had driven 4 hours, that the restaurant was CLOSED - all the windows papered up and "Stay Tuned" written on a window. Very disappointed that Open Table did not make it CLEAR in the initial cancellation WHY it was cancelled.
Restaurant was closedfor good, but you still could book it on opentable!!!! what a shame!
We had a confirmed reservation on 7/5/17 @ 7Pm confirmed and reminded by Open Table, we showed up, our first night in Paso, we were greeted by a paper sign in the window say they were closed.
We ate at Artisan across the street and had a great dinner watching may others being greeted by the closed sign at Villa Creek.
There won't be a second chance.
I made a reservation and when I arrived there was a note on the door that the restaurant was closed. Very disappointed, thus the rating.
It was very noisy. Lot more kids than I would have expected which made for little to no ambiance.
I've been to Villa Creek 3 times and it this was my last. It has gotten progressively worse. The service was terrible, our waitress didn't know what she was talking about so when we ordered food, it came out different than what she told us - not good if you have allergies or eating restrictions. Our waitress had an attitude with us from the start and was unavailable until we were paying the bill. We had to ask 3x just to get a glass of water, and when you are in wine country, water is important! I hope they can improve their service because it made our meal a terrible experience.
Was disappointed by the fact that they were out of the yellow carrot soup and the burrita for the appetizer when it was clearly not very busy, maybe 4 tables at 7 pm. Won't be back. Clearly poor planning in the kitchen. Sad disappointment when it was highly recommended. Nothing special.
We had a bad experience with waiter and left. Attitude issue.
The menu is very limited- only 5 dinner entrees. I felt it was pricey, without the "wow" factor. We spent a lot to sit on hard wooden bench to eat. Underwhelmed to say the least.
The night we dined it was exstreamly quiet. It's a new chef that has created a new menu that changes. Food and service was great.
Chef Tim & Team have brought back create melding of flavors the the locally grown groceries!
Love this restaurant and had a great dinner. Definitely miss some of the old favorites on the menu though - please bring back the Not Nachos and the Squash enchiladas and the delicious tortillas!
Driving thru Paso, old food stop, not lived up to memories. Food okay, service still good.
We had a fabulous dinner and met the new chef Tim. Tim made us one of his signature desserts- Lime Pudding to share. We'll be back soon.
Traveling the world and being born in Italy, being a foodie is in my DNA. It all starts with the service: Tiffany is a great host and made us feel at home. Every request was acknowledged with a smile and satisfied in a timely fashion.
Then the food: even if paid for, the bread is amazing and the Sicilian cauliflower to write home about it! And then the entrees : very well chosen and balanced, despite of the limited selection.
Overall a great experience and the manager stopping at the table was informative and showed care.
A Restauranteur textbook experience!
Everything was great, but the desserts were the highlight! All 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Great food and plenty of it. Great service. Wonderful evening.
Eli and the whole staff were great.
Food was outstanding!
Octopus was the best I have ever had.
Very creative; rivals Napa Valley restaurants.
I have no particular complaints, but the waitress while very friendly was not especially helpful, and the food while perfectly good was nothing special. We were not pleased when they delivered our entrees before we'd finished first courses. And it's not inexpensive. However, it seems to be on par with the other restaurants in the area.
Seated inside restaurant - at first seemed kind of cavernous and empty but then more tables arrived and it got warm and cozy. We split the fried chicken (waitress suggestion) and an order of their roasted potatoes - ALOT of food - chicken was very good. We each had a margarita (pretty good, but in short stubby glasses - not my fave) - I ordered the $25 red wine flight - 4 glasses of Villa Creek's reds - enjoyed them all. Would likelnreturn.
We selected multiple items off the appetizer menu and weren't disappointed by any.
Great dinner! The octopus and fried chicken was outstanding.
EXCELLENT!!! We loved Villa Creek! The food was amazing, fresh, creative and delicious! Lots of options for vegetarians as well as meat eaters. We will definitely be returning over and over again. Thank you Villa Creek!!!
We went to this restaurant on a Tuesday at 8pm. It was practically empty. The most I can say about the food was that it was bland and boring. Had the fried cauliflower appetizer, and it tasted like nothing. The unknown sauce on the plate was slapped on chuck wagon style. Same thing for the fried chicken. Carrots were served cold (not supposed to be). The potatoes were decent. Again, I won't call the food bad or inedible. It just wasn't noteworthy. Their presentation was also sloppy. Finally, they cut our server in the middle of the meal so it took exceptionally long to get our check.
We had a lovely evening with friends at Villa Creek. It was the perfect way to end a day of wine tasting at local vineyards. The food was excellent and the service was very good.
The food was good but a little overpriced. We dined on a Tuesday evening & there were few patrons in the restaurant which kept any noise level to a minimum, but the service was a bit pushy as if they would have liked to close rather then serve only a few customers. We did eat at better restaurants while in Paso Robles although I would still say that this is a good restaurant but not my favorite.
The cauliflower appetizer was amazing as was the sourdough bread. The fried chicken was deboned and the most succulent chicken ever
My only disappointment is it was my birthday and first time a restaurant didn't bring out a small dessert
Great food. Loved the octopus appetizer and three of us had delicious perfectly cooked duck breast with red cabbage and tiny carrots. The lingcod was good too. Chris Cherry, the owner stopped by to pay his respects. We've met him but he wasn't doing it because of that. It's just good restaurant practice for the owner to be there and talk with the guests.
We enjoyed a great Valentine's Day dinner at Villa Creek. We ordered from both the regular menu and the special menu created for the occasion. Everything we ordered was fabulous in taste, presentation, use of local, healthy ingredients, and absolutely the freshest tastes. The food was sophisticated without being "stuffy". Our wait person was very friendly , professional and attentive without being overbearing. We will definitely go back to try other offerings from their eclectic and delicious menu. We love the festive atmosphere, but some might find the noise level to be annoying....they have gorgeous high ceilings and "mission" style architecture that is great but somewhat conducive to creating a noisy dining room. doesn't bother us!!
